“After receiving the official ABRSM exam result, the marks were changed without any notice or explanation.
The final category remained “Pass”, but some individual scores — including for a piece — were lowered.
Such actions undermine trust in the system: if published results can be revised retrospectively with no transparency, there is no way to feel confident in the fairness or consistency of the process.
We no longer trust ABRSM as a reliable system of objective assessment.”
“I had been diagnosed since kindergarten with anxiety and has been on medication since Grade 7, so I get panicked easily. Because of this, I applied to the ABRSM special needs policy and support every documents I got, including my diagnosis. But when ABRSM receives, they said they won't accept and think I was lying.
So I have no other choice but coping with the online theory and room scans which does not help with my anxiety as I get sensitive when someone else and other people see images and videos of my room, so I request the ABRSM special needs department to not do a room scan, but they refused. And as expect, my anxiety levels started escalating after I went from Grade 1 theory to Grade 3 theory in the span of three years, with the harder course material and an "unsupportive'' Special Needs department and policy both contributing to higher stress.”
