I was told that the cashier's name is Karen. She was very rude, and she had a nerve to stare me down as I walked out of the Great Lakes Ace store at 6248 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis, IN. Their customer service at one time was great. WOW! What happened?]

Ace hardware does not give any discounts for military service or seniors. Took my 95 year old father there who served in the navy during the Korean War. It's a darn shame Ace hardware and thier high profits does not recognize these citizens. Please support businesses that support their community's

My home office needed to be painted because the old color was too glossy to act as a background for Zoom meetings. The woman who helped me was very kind and fun, but she did not explain sheens of paint well at all. She immediately told me to get eggshell, saying it would be different and better. Well, the room is painted, and it is certainly not better. It is same. I called the store to ask what could be done, but they simply told me to spend another $80 on a gallon of paint and paint over it. I was frustrated and said I purchased it at the specific suggestion of a staff member. They did not care. The staff apparently needs to listen so they know what a customer is asking for--and then to advise customers accordingly so the people doesn't suffer an expensive loss. There was no concern or help given to correct the staff member's mistake.

I went to buy a blade for my electric lawn mower which was available at the Greentree store in Pittsburgh, their web page stated they had 5 left for my specific model. Once in the store, no one of the employees said hello nor "how may I help you". I decided to walk around to find the blade. When I could not find it, I decided to ask the cashier who did not greet me, did not talk to me and instead, he pointed to the isle where the blades were. Yet, I could not find them. I went back to the cashier, and at this point a person called Sharon, asked me what I needed. I said I needed a blade. She started walking to the same isle I was directed before by the previous cashier, she did not say follow me, or I can show you where they are, anything. Once we arrived to the blades, I told her what was the model of the blade, she sighed in a very rude way. I asked to leave, that I didn't need somebody unwilling to help. She stated they were very busy and had a lot of things to do. That is not my problem, the customer deserves respect and attention.

Very Poor Customer Service!! Visited the Rio Rancho location for packing tape. Their website said discounted price $11.99 The uneducated cashier wanted to charge me $14.99. She called over a co-worker for help. WHY DIDN'T THE TWO EMPLOYEES CHECK THEIR WEBSITE FOR THE PRICE??? I informed both ladies that you have to sell at the advertised price. It appears that they are unaware of NM STATUTES: It is unlawful for any person to charge an amount greater than the price that is advertised, posted, marked, displayed, or quoted for that item. A BUSINESS MUST SELL AT THEIR POSTED PRICES!!!! They did nothing for me but waste my time. I left and visited Ace Hardware at 8201 Golf Course Rd NW, Albuquerque, where I was greeted with a smile and told WELCOME. I purchased my packing tape for $11.99!!! I would stay away from Pioneer Ace Hardware in Rio Rancho and visit Ace Hardware on Golf Course Rd NW AND TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS where to shop for QUALITY SERVICE WITH A SMILE... FOR ME as a licensed Conceal Carry gun owner, I never liked YOUR POLICY: NO GUNS IN THE STORE. I always had to leave my gun in the trunk of the car to shop at Pioneer Ace Hardware, Rio Rancho. This tells ALL THE BAD GUYS THAT ANYONE LEAVING THE STORE IS UNARMED.... Bad Deal...NOT FOR ME... Ace Hardware on Golf Course Rd NW: GUNS IN STORE, NO PROBLEM.THANK YOU VERY MUCH... MR. OWNER Update 7/24/2024 Their is NO reason, in the world, for me to contact your store manager. Your folks had their opportunity and they failed miserably. Further, who needs your dangerous policy NO GUNS IN THE STORE. All my needs are satisfied at Ace Hardware on Golf Course Rd NW, Albuquerque...

I went to Elder's Ace Hardware-Dixie Lee Junction to buy a $1300 cut off saw but they wouldn't sell it to me without first obtaining my personal information and directing me to their service department. I didn't want to register the purchase or be forced into their service department when I can handle any tool maintenance myself. This kind of customer service drives people to online retailers instead of brick-and-mortar stores. I struggle with severe PTSD and need the ability to shop without unnecessary added social anxiety. If this is truly the procedure for purchasing from STIHL or Ace Hardware, I refuse to buy from them.

We are in the process of renovating our kitchen. We contacted five companies, including Ace, for quotes. When we met with the craftsman from Ace two weeks ago. Joe was fantastic. We told him the cabinets will arrive 8/12, and countertops will be installed on 8/20. He said they could install the cabinets two days after delivery. He said because it's a small project, it would take one, maybe, two days for two guys. He explained the cost and payment options and said we'd receive a contract by email within three days. We decided to go with them even though we had two lower quotes (and one higher) because Joe was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and seemed trustworthy. We were eager to work with him... and still would. It's with the company that we have an issue. We did not receive a contract within three days. We reached out last week and were told there was an unexpected situation, but we'd receive it shortly. We're now ten days out from what was supposed to be our installation date. We just received the contract today. It is over $1200 higher than the original quote! When we questioned it, we were told by someone at Ace that the price is accurate, and they won't negotiate. I hate to think poorly of anyone, but this very much seems like the textbook definition of low balling. They knew our deadlines, and it seems they waited just long enough to make it almost impossible for us to find someone else in time. However, we will find someone else. I'd rather delay every step of this project than to work with a company that seems questionable. I should have read all the reviews before contacting them because I see other people have had similar situations. I would give zero stars if I could. Buyer beware.

Ace scams you by sending you coupons that seem to exclude everything. " Ace is the dishonest place " should be the slogan.

DO NOT BUY ONLINE FROM ACE HARDWARE AS THEY DON'T REFUND YOUR SHIPPING WHEN RETURNING AN ITEM!!!!! ONLY USE THE STORES. The actual stores are wonderful but the online process is horrible - they need to get up with the times and be competitive!!!!!

I was looking for a inflatable kiddie pool that I seen online to show it was in stock at Russellville AR store and when I showed up I asked the girl that worked there at the middle of the store counter desk where were the inflatable kiddie pools she said we don’t have none so I asked her but I’m showing you have them in stock right now and with a little bit of an attitude she said just because it’s showing that we have them in stock it doesn’t mean we have them so I said nothing just walked out. I understand it can happen but doesn’t mean you have to get an attitude with people just say sorry about the inconvenience but that does happen.

Ace hardware is very deceitful in there sales and specials. For 7 years I get these offers and every time I go to use one of them I hear.” Sorry that one doesn’t apply” They just try to lure people in making them think they’re gonna be able to save a little bit of money and then they don’t honor it. whatever it is, I’m buying it’s always excluded. At least that’s what they say. I have looked up many of those items and they are not on the exclusion list. So they are not to be trusted. It is a very dishonest company
