Hello Andrew! A bit late, but I want to say Thank You for your help while booking this trip! Your advices and kind answers before have been extremely helpful. I especially liked the spare pillow case in the truck! We had a great time, very interesting, with extremely nice co-travellers and guides (esp. the first crew: Moses, Capillar, Steve and Joseph, FIVE STARS!!). Weeks that we will never forget! It was very hot (Okavango Delta: Up to 50 °C), even for the locals. One small thing (out of 99% positive experiences): The so-called Boat trip in the Okavango Delta was a joke. The river was nearly dry, and we had to walk in the mud (full of snakes pp), and pull and push the boat together with the puller for several hours. It was promised a full-day trip, but in fact it was less than a half-day trip. Around 10 people from our group had the same bad day. Already many friends wanted to have the contact details of your company. We dream of coming back to Africa, and we would like to book at AOT again! Again, thank you very much!! Kind regards from Germany

Hello Huntley - just wanted to let you know that I had the time of my life on this trip!!!! Thank you for helping me to make it happen. I am actually thinking about joining another tour soon - just can't find out if I can get a visa Kenya on the border when entering from Tanzania. Do you know if I do need an advanced visa for that? Thanks, Take care

I have recently booked the 20 Day Cape Town to Victoria Falls overland camping trip. Huntley Cronje has been assisting me throughout this process and I would like you to know how wonderful and professional he has been. I felt totally confident and at ease with Huntley from my first contact. Nothing has been too much trouble and he has been an absolute pleasure to deal with. His professionalism has been amazing. His promptness in replying to emails is fantastic and very reassuring particularly when you are making the booking from another country. My entire experience with Huntley has been positive. I will certainly be recommending your company to my friends and I intend to book future trips through you. I hope that I will have the pleasure of being looked after by Huntley again.

Dear Huntley, this mail is long overdue, but I just wanted to say a BIG Thank You!! The tour you helped me organize in March was mind blowing! Words cannot express what an amazing 4 weeks I had. My group was great, and I honestly believe that the trip could not have been any more perfect. Scenery was gorgeous, wildlife abundant (Big 5 + some more check), campsites without exception nice and clean, and food just excellent. A love-affair for life, cannot wait to discover more of Africa! Wish you all the best, and hopefully will come back to you soon. I am already browsing options for next season. Kind regards, Dora

Africa was a major bucket list item for me and I can’t thank you enough for all your help in our last two trips to Africa. Eve and I are kicking ourselves for waiting so long to go. We’ve seen totally different regions and Namibia was amazing! Hot but amazing! I can’t imagine what the temperature on Dune 45 would be in the middle of the day! My next door neighbour’s are planning a trip in spring 2017. At this point they aren’t sure what they want to see or where to go but I will give them your contact info. Unless one of us wins a large lottery, this was our last trip. I wish you all the best in the future – I know Eve agrees. Thanks again. June (just a woman who loves Africa)

I wanted to thank you again for having done a fantastic job with all the information you sent so I can prepare for my overland trip. Everything on the trip was great! The food was so nice and varied and the activities quite spot on. Trekking with the gorillas was an amazing experience that no word can describe. FYO the Ugandan visa was 100 dollars. The Kenyan visa can be taken at airport and is valid for 3 months after first entry. Some people had the East Africa visa (Kenya-Uganda-Rwanda) that made things easier at the border. Need to be organised at embassy or can be made on arrival in Uganda border if they have some available. Some people went to Rwanda for few days when in Bunyoni and east Africa visa came really handy then to avoid paying re-entry visa in Uganda. Also, rafting in Jinja was 125dollars for the whole day but I think it was low tourist season so, a bit cheaper.

I hope that you are well. I got back from Africa recently and just wanted to check in to let you know I had an amazing time. The 6 weeks on the truck was just brilliant, and the crew were fantastic. It went by so fast and I have never found it so hard to return home from anywhere before! I am definitely coming back for East Africa as soon as I can. Thanks again for all of your help bringing it all together. Thanks again Andrew, and I will definitely come back to you to book again when East Africa calls.

Hi Andrew, Thanks for your answer. I just like to say thank you that you proposed us this awesome tour. We definitely really enjoyed this last 5 days on the tour. We saw a few great places in South Africa and Swaziland. Also we were the lucky guys that we could see so many wild animals in the Kruger Park and in the Rhino Reserves. It was just great and awesome. And everything was good organised and our tour guide knew so many things from the Nature and the history of South Africa. Thank you so much for everything and we can highly recommend this tour for other guests. Now we look forward to our two weeks self-driving rental travels along the Garden Route to Cape Town. Kindest regards from Durban

A trip to Africa for most is probably just a dream and maybe one taken with a degree of trepidation. But this trip certainly allayed any concerns. We have done a fair bit of travelling in the last number of years and must say this one was one out of the box. Our guide Chris Z was amazing. He made everyone feel at home, he was interested in all his passengers and did everything to make our trip memorable. His offsider, Matthew, who is learning the game, was also great to travel with. The places we visited, the things we saw, the variety offered and of course the animals we saw - difficult to explain how fantastic these were. It's hard to imagine camping out in the Okavango Delta and having the campsite surrounded by elephants- but it happened and it was all very exciting! The places we stayed in varied in quality, depending where we were, but overall were great - all were clean and friendly and some very flash! Food was good, especially the 'home cooked' meals. We were lucky, we had a great group of people who all got on well and who were all willing to dig in, get involved, help out and enjoy the experiences offered! A trip is what you make it. There was a lot of distance covered but that is necessary to get anywhere! Our trip took us from Cape Town to Namibia, Botswana and finally Victoria Falls. A wonderful trip which we will never forget. Well done.

We have had a truly fabulous time here in South Africa. I'd like to thank you again for all that you did to enable this to be a trip of a lifetime, we WILL definitely both remember it forever. As at the Cape Town conference I met another university person who is holding a mini conference early next year and has invited out attendance ie the researchers who are working on the project that brought me here this time. So. It might be that I will be back again, with even more people. But that's not certain yet so it is wait and see.

Every aspect of our 26 day tour was outstanding - and far exceeded our expectations. Ray and I, along with another couple, were the oldest - all 70ish, and the age range was from 26 - 70. A major positive was the range of. Every person had their own story and own reason for travelling - and all so interesting - and such variety was a feature of our experience. Namibia was sensational - for me the highlight of our trip - stark and oh so remote with magnificent scenery and supreme isolation. The desert colours were different from those we experience in Australia and the scope of the sand dunes hard to comprehend. Time at the Okavango Delta was a major highlight - the flight illustrated the delta system so clearly, the accommodation and meals and overall hospitality totally unexpected and enjoyed by all. In fact Botswana was a surprise - Etosha National Park so remote and yet so rewarding with its magnificent array of animals and the harshness of the environment and the range of ethnicities - and the obvious pride of its people. Victoria Falls - as expected a world natural wonder - and our chosen experience of Walking with the Lions - an enriching and never to be forgotten afternoon which I still consider the major highlight of my trip. Our Elephant Hills Resort was like an oasis after some demanding travel . Next the long haul to Johannesburg - by now only four people as most had returned to work after the Christmas break. On reflection this component would be the only change we would have made - we would have flown rather than take two days basically traveling in the truck - a better use of our time with an extra day to explore Johannesburg - although we did spend a full day on a Soweto tour which was revealing and made me reconsider my 1980s notions of Soweto. Kruger was excellent - of course with the focus on wildlife and game drives which did not disappoint. Our guides on the drives and walks in Kruger were interested in our questions and happy to provide ample knowledge. The weather in Namibia and Botswana was extremely hot - but all coped well - even without any air conditioning in the truck and often only fans in some lodges. The days were very long and at times demanding but were so full of activity and interesting information that again all of us managed well - although often a few sleepy heads on the truck. Meals were of a very acceptable standard - simple but with fresh food and always plenty for seconds. My only comment on my assessment form was that there were more beef meals than I would have preferred- but I may well have been the only one who felt this way. Our accommodation at times was quite basic but again very acceptable - always clean and often in wonderfully remote settings with no other groups. In fact this was a feature of our tour - we felt we were the only people at so many sights - and in fact we were. We always felt secure and safe and well supported. Our guide and driver Mandela was outstanding from every perspective - so full of energy, so perceptive, with so much knowledge and an ability to keep us all going- even when 40+ and energy was flagging. His constant stopping to show us an interesting cultural feature - vegetation, a land form, an animal, an ethnic group - accompanied by the inevitable WOW - will remain with us forever. He was a marvel and to be so highly commended. We certainly hope to return to Africa Andrew - we have barely scratched the surface.

Hi Huntley. We had a fantastic trip! Never mind the border hassles, it's all just memories and travel stories by now. We really enjoyed every bit of the trip and I’d like to think that everybody else on the tour felt the same way.We are certainly not put off by going back to Africa (I'm back in Mali right now), and have already considered other trips. Although a bit premature right now, we were discussing the possibility of doing the "southern circle" at some point. We shall certainly let you know as things concretize. Thanks again, Huntley, for all your excellent support and time. Very best and stay in touch.

Dear Andrew, After our return to Hungary, following an unforgettable journey in Africa, I would like to thank you for your service, the up to date information, and the early bird status of course. Our motivation is increasing to continue towards Nairobi perhaps 2 years after. We will see and hope to have enough money and courage. Thanks again and kind regards, Andras and Eva

Hi Andrew, Thanks so much for all your help and all the extra tips. You are easily the most helpful travel consultant I have ever dealt with, and it really helps to take advice from someone who knows the destination well. I will be back in touch nearer the time about the pre-tour accommodation etc. Thanks again, and I hope you have an awesome time on your trip to the Okavango in the new year! Take care:) Best wishes, Sinéad
