In this process, one of your staff members was truly professional, and I was satisfied with the quality of the work, even though I was charged an additional 130 dollars. However, unfortunately, after some time, I noticed that the bow’s sight was severely misaligned to the left, and when I tried to adjust it further to the left, the arrows still veered out of the bow. Despite my efforts, the problem persisted. Eventually, I discovered that the upper part of the bow wasn’t tuned properly, causing the arrows to veer off course, which was quite problematic. I hope that in future endeavors, these aspects are taken into consideration so that you can provide an even better experience.”
“Basically I like this Gorilla bow. It is a good product at a good price.
As background, I am a retired old guy (70s) with plenty of time but not so much money. I started archery about a year ago and love it. I spend maybe 2 hours nearly every day at it. I have worked my way through a recurve bow and two extra sets of limbs (24lb, 28lb, 34lb), a cheap starter kit compound bow, a second hand PSE compound bow, and am now into the Gorilla compound bow.
I live in a rural NSW town, the nearest bow shop is in Sydney about 4 hours away, so my access is limited. They focus mostly on high end gear, so nearly all of it is out of my price range. I quickly learned how to do my own basic tuning and repairs on bows and arrows. My local archery club has some helpful people. Alas my ability does not yet extend to replacing compound bow strings.
In choosing your Gorilla bow package I was mindful that it did not use the peep sight with rubber hose technology. I found that set up to be seriously unreliable.
I also noted that you sell replacement strings for the Gorilla. Taking my bow to a distant bow shop and waiting a few weeks for a restring is a serious inconvenience. I expect I will be back for them in due course.
So far (2 weeks) the Gorilla bow is working great. I was able to set the draw length and weight quickly and start shooting within half hour of receiving the package. The sight took an extra couple of hours to set. But generally I was able to start shooting OK pretty quickly, which I think is important.
Because I focus on target shooting, the basic five pin sight wasn't so great. I replaced it with a single pin plus magnifier sight and my target accuracy improved significantly. I also replaced the original balance rod with a longer one from an earlier bow.
The brush style arrow rest works well enough for 8mm arrows, but I will be looking to replace it with a drop down arrow rest in the near future.
The only problem I encountered was your release aid. Even though it was brand new, unopened packet, clearly it was faulty. It is so sensitive that it is not usable. I have other similar release aids which work much better. Not obviously your fault, but could be an annoying problem if this was my first and only release aid.
