“It was a special deal for walkers in conjunction with Easy Breaks. It was excellent value for money with all the "extras" included. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was well-appointed, clean and nicely decorated. Great shower. Lots to do in Dumfries and surrounding areas - not just walking.”
“This is the best short stay break we have ever had , and we've done quite a few . Couldn't find fault with anything. Hotel top class , staff excellent , lovely room of the highest standard, food excellent (particularly the complimentary scrumptious afternoon tea on arrival ) great location . Just wish we could have stayed longer . Full marks all round .”
“The Hotel is set in beautiful grounds. The old part of the building is beautiful and the interior decorated to a high standard. The staff were friendly and they even made us a packed breakfast with fresh coffee as we were leaving at 6am. We stay here regularly and will continue to use the Aston for our business trips.”
“Thoroughly enjoyed our stay staff were extremely helpful. We enjoyed the sharing platter on arrival and the prosecco, chocolate and fruit basket in our room. We bought Tartan Chocolate as gifts to take home by providing these items in the rooms it helps to promote local business's.
We have already recommended your hotel to friends we would definitely return in the future.”
“I just love going to the Aston Hotel. If you want tranquillity you have the perfect location. The weather seems also to be much better down Dumfries area. I've visited 4 or 5 times now, and find new places to visit every time. It's also ideal to visit the north of England or as a stopover further north or south. We ate in the restaurant and the choice was good and very fairly priced. The staff are certainly a great asset. Everyone on the reception desk has been more than helpful each time. The rooms are great too, spacious with very comfortable beds and the shower is fantastic. The view of Crichton Church is lovely and the gardens are well laid out. The grounds are ideal for a leisurely stroll, leading to further gardens , ideal for wedding photos”
“Enjoyed our recent stay at the Aston Hotel, Dumfries. Room a good size and well fitted with a wonderful garden view. Afternoon tea was a delight and waitress very attentive. All the staff we came into contact with were very pleasant and helpful, the young man at reception even printed out the history of the Cricton Estate for me. Only problem was our stay was TOO short.”
“Excellent rooms and staff on our Chatsworth offer stay.
Slightly let down by the restaurant and in particular the extraordinary pricing policy regarding supplements for certain dishes”
“The air conditioning on the 3rd floor was not working, although the staff were aware they didn't inform us on check in. As the air conditioning was not working we opened the window, but, quickly had to close this from the noise from a private party in the function room. Partly due to the heat and noise from the children from the party running up and down the corridoor, we didnt sleep well. On checking out I mentioned all of this to the receptionist who said other people had complained about the children running up and down and also they were aware about the air conditioning but couldnt get it fixed as it was Saturday. I was advised that the Manager would contact me, however I'm still waiting to hear from him/her. Shame as it was our 4th stay here.”
“Excellent hotel situated In beautifully well maintained grounds. Room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The ensuite was also spotless with a great shower. Good choice at breakfast and the afternoon tea we had was lovely. Fab place and would definitely recommend.”
“We were offered the option to up grade our room on arrival which we did. The room has beautiful views over the gardens. We enjoyed a beautiful dinner served to us by very friendly staff. We have to say that our bed was fab & we both had a tranquil sleep and woke refreshed & ready for a hearty breakfast. We have stayed at the Aston before & hope to enjoy another visit soon.
