Refund - Difficult

They hid behind their terms and conditions and refused to offer a refund, even though their lack of transparency caused this whole ordeal.

Instead of addressing the situation or offering a refund for the service I was denied, they simply reiterated their terms, despite the fact that my license met their stated requirements.

Soon AutoEurope supported my claim for a refund, calling it a "Fleet Failure", but - surprisingly - in the end (after many mails) notified me they couldn't help me.

The rental car company said they could do nothing and I should call Auto Europe asking about a refund.

The car rental was unable to provide a refund or assist us find an available car, telling us that we needed to contact Auto Europe who had our money.

Furthermore, a refund is not possible as they redirect us to the online portal where we made the booking, and the online portal advises us to contact them locally.
