Simply didn't turn up for appointment. Arranged appt online, chap rang up to see if I wanted to go through insurance or not, rang back with policy number - so two conversations and online and.... Nothing Waited, no-one showed up. Not impressed.

Shockingly bad,no customer service. Been out 3 times and still failed to bring correct windscreen. Complaint initiated and even complaints department dont call back when they say they will. Still yet to receive windscreen. Would never use again or reccommend. Avoid at all costs.

On Wednesday 3rd August 2016 Mike and Jack came to replace my BMW5 series windscreen. It very much looked like rain, and was very windy, but they got on to it straightaway and did an excellent job, with no fuss or question. Top men, and a credit to your company!! D J Osgood

Used Auto Windscreens a couple of years ago to fix a chipped windscreen on our Ford Focus, paying a small excess due to our insurance company policy at the time. Within 2 years the "repair" had deteriorated so badly it looked like the original stone chip all over again. Called our current insurers, who sent out a different (but well-known) car windscreen repair company, who told me they couldn't patch-up the existing repair job as its simply not possible with the technology to do that, but they chap said that all their work is guaranteed for a lifetime so could have the entire windscreen replaced at no extra cost. When I said that it was actually Auto Windscreens that made the original repair job he pretty much told me I was screwed as they dont provide any guarantee what-so-ever of their work. Sure enough, I contacted Auto Windscreen and even though the original repair job was less than a couple of years old they would provide no guarantee of the work and told me that a new windscreen would need to be fitted at my own cost. So my advice to anyone thinking of getting a stone chip repaired is check out exactly what you are paying for first. Look at Auto Windscreen's website, there is no mention of their work being guaranteed and although they may be cheap, if the job goes bad you're on your own. There are plenty of other glass repair companies out there, shop around and make sure you get a guaranteed job (and one that doesn't fall apart within a couple of years). I know which company I will be using in future and it's certainly not Auto Windscreen!

Very satisfied with the repair to my windscreen.Very punctual on the day of the appointment with great communications and the job done with care and commitment. Archie the technician was professional,friendly and knowledgeable and on the strength of his workmanship I would recommend AW to anyone requiring a repair or replacement.

My back passenger window was smashed on Fri 24th June. I contacted my insurance company and your call centre on the Saturday morning. I was told that the glass had to be ordered - fair enough - and that the work would be done on the following Wednesday. I had a medical appointment on the Weds morning so said that I wouldn't be available to have it done then. I was told that the work schedules didn't get planned until the day before and I would get a text. So - I get the text and it's for Weds morning. I completely understand that you can't give people exact appts but why can you not programme in times when people specifically aren't available. So - the text says to press a button to rebook but you don't know that doing that automatically cancels the previous appt. And - worse still - I am back in the call centre loop again. When I spoke to a call centre person having pressed rebook they said the next appt was 3 weeks later - that's not acceptable when you have no back passenger window. All the staff I spoke to were helpful and efficient - I have no complaints about them. It is the system they work with that is so frustrating. All the info gets passed to the "local team" but there is no way to talk to the local team directly. I was so fed up of giving the same information to people that I think it was the 6th or 7th person I spoke to that I said I just wanted to speak to someone who could make an appt for me. And he did for 2 days later. So - a week after the break in, the technician turned up. He had the wrong glass but that wasn't his fault - it was ours. He was great. He wasn't prepared to do a bad job. He sourced some glass and came back later on to complete the job. His name is Andy in the Bristol team. I've looked at the reviews you get and there seem to be quite a lot that aren't positive.. I don't have a great deal of confidence that things will improve

Absolutely horrendous - a technician was supposed to come out to be today to fit a new windscreen as I have a HUGE crack down the middle of it. I got a call at 10am this morning confirming the technician would be here between 1.30 and 3.30. Great, like that. I waited, and waited, and waited. The time got to 5pm and now i'm starting to get a bit cheesed off so i ring customer services who can't get hold of the technician...fabulous. Turns out the technician has been delayed and won't be coming today so I've taken the day off work for nothing and now I'm out of pocket as I didn't pay through my insurance. Don't use this company if you actually want them to turn up on the day/time they say...rubbish. If you have a few weeks to sit in and wait...go ahead.

As my insurers preferred provider AW proved to be very competent. New screen pre-inspection was satisfactory, components being OE as requested. Preparation for installation was meticulous, as was the installation and tidy up. The Trainer Technician was particularly knowledgeable and skilled. The trainee (second day) was keen to learn and carry out his allotted tasks. Final testing of sensor operations was fine. AW has a strong corporate identity and trainer/training ethic as witnessed during this replacement. Very pleased.

I wish I could tell you how Auto Windscreens made me happy but I'm afraid I cant . The booked two hour appointment slot passed without any contact from yourself . After contacting you directly the appointment had moved 3 hours forward . But i discovered that the times i was given by email were only estimates and not confirmed times as stated with your email contact to me . And how this fits in with award winning customer service that you advertise on your website is beyond me .I would be grateful if you can explain how this is award winning customer service .

Appointment booked for morning, i had to call Auto windscreens to find out why no technician had turned up, technician did call and was very apologetic, and worked hard to complete the task, but communication from Auto windscreens very poor.

Charged twice for a screen replacement. A screen was then fitted which wasn't compatible with auto wipers despite checking this with the technician on the day as well as when booking the appointment in the first place.

Very satisfied with the replacement windscreen so far. Very punctual on the day of the appointment and the job done with care and commitment. My only disappointment was the the booking could not be made for over 3 weeks.

I had Jeff come to me to replace my van window I would like to say he was very professional,smart and knowledgeable he rang me to say he was on his way in about 50 mins to which he was he turned up being very courteous and polite he did the job without any fuss and wouldn't leave until I was satisfied with what he done so I would give him 10 out 10 Thanks Jeff. Since my first call almost t weeks ago and making the appointment over 2 weeks ago today you failed to show and do the job. My replacement glass has gone missing. So far I've only had the technician call to say he's not coming I still wait fotmr you to bothered to contact my to let me know what happens next . Really poor your awards mean nothing when you fail so miserably.

It took 2 weeks to get an appointment, then, half an hour before the 2 hour appointment window, received a call (at 14.30) saying the engineer had called in sick. Rebooked for the following Tuesday and the engineer turned up with a new windscreen but no new rubber seal thus the job couldn't be done again. I called the following day after losing several hours pay and complained and tried to rebook another appointment. The new appointment was for 2 weeks time. Looked on their website and all complaints will be responded to within 4 working days. Nothing happened so I called again and escalated the complaint (their words, not mine). New appointment came through between 08.00 and 16.00. Thinking this was too broad a time span, I called and was told that the day before the appointment I would receive another text telling me the 2 hour window in which the engineer would come round. I duly received a text saying that 1 engineer would be here between 08.00 & 10.00, then another text saying a different engineer would be arriving between 08.15 & 10.15. Imagine my surprise when, at 10.20, no one had arrived. Phoned to complain (again) and asked what had happened to my last complaint. There was no record of my previous 2 complaints!! Made another complaint there and then and, during which, was told that the engineers had arrived (by this time I'm on my way to work). The job was done in my absence and I waited for the complaints procedure to run its course. Received a call from a lovely lady and I recounted the whole sorry saga. On their website it states that any appointment cancelled after midnight the day before, a £35+vat fee would apply. I was told by this lady that they have to charge this for having their time wasted. When I asked what recourse I had for claiming my wasted time back, she stated there was none but as a gesture of good will, they would give me a £20 high street voucher (which I doubt they would have paid face value for). I was told that an invoice for £80 was outstanding and it needed paying. I will NOT be paying this!! As they are the only approved company through my insurance, I shall be complaining in the strongest possible terms to 1st Central Insurance, suggesting that they stop using Auto Windscreens and telling them that they can claim the £80 excess from Auto Windscreens. Auto windscreens... Rubbish customer service... DO NOT USE
