I did a quote on the vaninsurer. On the quote page i was ask how many years i have had my licence for on a drop down box. The only options was in years and not specific dates. After going trough and paying for the insurance i was aked to send my license details to Autonet. When checking my details they found the specific date that vaninsurer supplied and the date on my licence was different with a couple of days because i could not supplied a date but just a year. I was told that my policy premium will go up another £200 something because of this. I refused and Ask to cancel my insurance. I was then told to pay £50 extra for cancelling. I will definitely not recommend this company to anyone.

Price increase from original quote by £15 with no explanation. Told I had to phone to verify details and ended up with a £15 mobile phone bill for my trouble so £30 over the original price! They have a cheaper phone number but only for those wanting to renew policies who they’re making enough money on anyway.

Somehow the incorrect address was applied to my policy , not to worry I thought I have only just paid for it 15mins earlier and the policy didn't actually start for over a week . How Wrong I was …£25 to cancel a policy that hasn't actually even started or £225 extra for the different address. What a Rip - Off . They won't budge on that ..not interested .. Dread to think what making a claim would be like ..its not worth the risk. Look elsewhere and check the hidden fees and charges with a fine tooth wotsit or your get done.

Can't believe how poor Autonet insurance are. Everything went well, I had insurance on my van. All they needed was confirmation from my old insurance company of no claims. I emailed this to them received an email thanking me for forwarding this on and that they were dealing with it and putting things in to place. I then receive a letter informing me that they had cancelled my insurance as they had not received my no claims. They also informed me that they was charging me over £100 for the couple of days insurance that I had. This is an absolute joke. As I could not get through on the telephone I have sent many emails but no reply.

When I needed to change the vehicle half way through the policy, they offered me really high quotes plus huge fees. When I said I would leave and get insured elsewhere, they threatened enormous fees and treated me like dirt, cutting me off etc. This ordeal went on gor hours. A vulnerable person would have been bullied into handing over huge sums of money for nothing.

I am extreme annoyed due to the company website not being able to support you on a Sunday and if you have inputted something in error by accident but paid the deposit for cover....it is highly likely that you will get a call saying something has been filled out incorrectly or missed and therefore you will get a admin fee and have to change the insurance company and pay a higher rate as I did!! Not at all happy!! 😡😤😡

Everything seemed okay until we cancelled the insurance, due to moving abroad. Now they claim insurance wasn't cancelled and because we have no international calls on our mobiles we can't even contact them and everything via email is unanswered. Total nightmare to deal with, sent me an email, which I can't respond to, to let me know a letter is sent to the house I have already told them I've moved from - hence the cancellation of insurance. Beware they are okay whilst taking your money but are invisible when cancelling!!

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to get in touch. We are sorry to hear that you are not happy with the cancellation charges. However when a policy is purchased, it is a 12 month policy that takes into account the cost of setting up and administering the policy. If the policy is cancelled before the end of the 12 month term, charges are made to cover the overall costs incurred by Autonet and the insurer will charge for the insurance you have used. These are explained prior to the policy being purchased. If we can be of any further assistance, please let us know. Kind regards Mollie

worst ever documentation I have received from any insurer. Lot of junk repeated 3-4 times but key information such as payment schedule, policy inclusion such as personal accident cover, courtesy car, windscreen cover etc. not mentioned anywhere. One page in the document says something along the line that they have checked the insurers database and have found I have not declared my previous claim which has resulted in an extra cost of £ included £14.99 admin fees. No figure mentioned after the first £ sign, and upon calling them I am told I can ignore it! Even calling them requires going through one of the longest automated menu options before you can speak to somebody. Would not recommend at all.

The original quote from compare the market bumped up by £40. Realised after pressing complete payment. Requested three call backs. Nothing. Live chat, gave up after twenty mins. Finally got through on phone and basically told that wasn't the quote. Asked to cancel under 14 day cooling off period and was told it would cost £25. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Hi, Thank you for your comments, We place a great of deal of importance on customer feedback. However we are an insurance broker and do work with a panel of insurers who set the insurance rates that we charge. Unfortunately these can change on a daily basis. Kind regards Mollie

Apparently I didn't inform them of an incident from 4 years ago (car park, I wasn't even in the car so no it didn't particularly stick in my memory) so they decide to try and charge me £14.95. Great way to treat a brand new customer. How about you contact me? Talk to me? Do the decent thing? Not just charge me! Needless to say, I cancelled.

I have taken out insurance and have had to prove a non fault windscreen claim despite ha big evidence of my no claims being intact. Your company wishes to charge me more on my premium despite clear evidence of no claims for more than nine years (more like 20!) It’s unsettling to have this hanging over me when I want to enjoy my new vehicle. Feel like I should have trusted a more reputable company as I have never had this issue before.

Hi Emma, Thank you for taking the time to get in touch. We are sorry to hear that you are not happy with the charges made. We have looked into this and can see that letters were sent via email as this was set as the preferred contact method on your account. The letters contained details of the renewal and advised that if you did not want the policy to renew, to let us know. Although we can understand you frustration; as the policy was renewed, the cancellation charges are made to cover costs incurred to Autonet. I can confirm that the policy is now cancelled, but if you require anything further, please let us know Kind regards Nicola

Charged me £14.95 admin fee because I didn't disclose a windscreen claim on a different vehicle policy. On Compare the Market it did not say windscreens were included in previous claims disclosure. This should have been a point of clarification, not an opportunity to charge a fee to a brand new customer. I complained on the phone and you refused to budge, I had to pay by card there and then, and then you sent me an email to say the extra charge would be added to my first direct debit! The amount of paperwork you required was also demanding, uploads of licences and NGD, and then paper copy of the finance agreement. Twp payments are also taken within the first month which is not ideal.
