Autotrader used to be the place to sell your car....but NO MORE, total waste of time, my BMW was a bargain and I had only one enquiry and even that wasn't genuine!! Save your money and list in Facebook marketplace is my advise, AUTOTRADER WHAT A WASTE OF NEARLY £50, NEVER AGAIN

Numerous dealers advertising dacia sandero stepways as in stock and available now. These are not in stock and not available till Nov or Dec 2021. Due to demand and lack of chips. Yet they are still allowed to advertise this car when you can't buy one. Three dealers tried to bait and switch me into an older model or the duster which isn't automatic crazy yet auto trader to nothing I reported the ads but they are still there.

Paid £50 for ONE MONTH listing! Had nothing to list, but refund refused! The car was listed briefly a couple of days but had to remove it as I ultimately never won the car auction (back in January). Upon contacting support, they refused to issue a refund, or even change the car advert to the vehicle I actually own. In essence, I made a card payment of £50, and they provided absolutely nothing, just keeping the money! They couldn't care less about customer service during lockdown either, completely opportunistic behaviour. Laughable and atrocious policy - I'm simply shocked a company of this size would seek to retain money in such a deceitful and dirty manner. Have filed a complaint with the Ombudsman.

Listed 2 cars then got hit by a multitude of scammers. Contacted Autotrader who didn't care one iota. Moved listings to eBay. Perfect.

I'm a trader and been treat unfairly after lining autotraders pockets with my business adverts . I got a negative review which to most are lies yet they will not publish my reply to it. autotrader obviously dont listen to the people paying their wages they clearly hear the voice of people that can be anyone leaving these negative comments .their customer service are diobolicle no help at all waste of time trying to explain to the review enquiry department . even though the guy who I first spoke to said its bad autotrader had posted the negative review . they shouldn't be allowed to post negative reviews after 18 month of purchasing

Advertised car on Autotrader and did not get one genuine inquiry. Plenty of scam texts and emails, won't use this method again.

Until recently. I would have given Autotrader 5 stars for its layout and ease of use....... that was until..... the new format when your search for "more options". The old system was brilliant, simple so quick to use. The new one is ABSOLUTELY DREADFUL ( IN A ONE VERTICAL LINE DOWN NO BOXES /PICS TO TICK AT TOP OF PAGE. WHAT ON EARTH MADE YOU THINK THIS WAS BETTER ? I hate it, horrible to use. If this is permanent , Ill find another site and I suspect so will many many others.

my experience wasn't with autotrader directly , it was with a car sale that I bought through the adverts on auto trader , private sales and was sold a dud. £700 for a car with fake mot and within 24 hours the car was broken down and needed £800 worth of work doing to make it road safe, (it appeared fine when we purchased it and checked it over). contacted auto trader for advice and not even a reply. not a call, email nothing. now are 3 weeks on, had to have the car repaired. really could have done with some advice on returning the car to the seller.

Saw a vehicle for sale seller stated private sale 4 previous owners full service history ran superbly. Facts the seller was a dealer who sold me the car from his home and the vehicle had 9 previous owners within a week gearbox went and on inspection the faults were too many to list bottom line was my garage said vehicle not fit to be on the road. When I checked the V5 to contact the seller it turned out the seller had bought the vehicle in October 2016 but never registered the purchase so when I thought he had owned it since 2014 which I saw as a positive sign. Going to pursue this person myself after trying to get help from Autotrader who were not interested they wouldnt give me his details or phone number hiding behind data protection even though all this information was on the advert. All they are interested in is protecting dodgy sellers who lie on the adverts and Autotrader condone this practise because they are making money.

Autotrader in bed with the dodgy cowboys BD Trade Sale Ltd from Walthamstow as featured on BBC's The Sheriffs Are Coming. If this is the type of dealer that Autotrader works with then how can anyone trust Autotrader either? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/services/car-dealers/uk/london/waltham-forest/walthamstow/bd-trade-sales-ltd-walthamstow-dpp-825301 They sold a dodgy car to a person and then failed to refund him when it broke down.
