“Availed of free trial period for Avast Cleanup and cancelled it after a few days. Money was taken from my account without notification for a subscription I didn't request. Contacted Avast and 2 hours later got a reply, they 1st offered partial refund of 30%,then 50%,then a full refund. I'm still waiting to be provided with details of their complaints process despite requesting them more than 15 times during the online chat with the Avast rep/chat bot”
“I’ve been on hold for a very long time…I’ve been trying to get a hold of them to cancel my product for days!!!! Never get through if you go to the proper number…I instead requested new service and finally got a case number only to then be transferred and put on hold again for days. My time is important too. Do better!!!”
“Deceptive company. I was sent an email promising 3 months of free Driver Update software if I renewed my VPN with them. I did so and never received the 3 months of free software. I sent in an email and was assured the problem would be resolved. Nothing happened. I sent in 11 more emails for good measure. Still nothing. Will cancel with them and find a more reputable company.”
“A 130% increase in price was auto charged to me without notification. I tried to cancel and was put in an endless loop what would never allow me to actually cancel. The loop always eventually sent me to a chat (no other choice) and then the chat person would sent me a cancellation link that would send me back to the beginning of the loop, where I would again land in a chat and over and over.”
“Spoke to Harold or Harry Price who was very rude when I tried to report I received a alarm that froze my screen. He said someone was connecting to computer asked if I had any enemies and wanted to charge me $200.00 I have only had the service since 2/2024.
I thought that the subscription was protecting me. I asked for a supervisor he told me no one would be available till next week. Unprofessional and I still am being exposed. I got another message tonight stating a Mac was connecting to my network I dont have a Mac.”

I have sent emails to the Avast email address and they only want to delay and try for money that I do not want to give to them. Not asking for refund. Only do not auto renew and cancel. “Just a piece of advice. Scroll through the latest pages of any review site. Nearly ALL the negative comments come from people who lost money due to AVAST fraudulent charging and non-refunding practices. I'm one of these people. To whoever wants to dispute me I have records (emails and support transcripts) of all my unsuccessful attempts to cancel my subscription. I will regularly post this to warn people.”
“They put a 10 day "reserve" on £74.99 on my credit card without any warning, without my permission and my card went on negative balance. For an order that I never placed with them. After numerous emails and complaints they responded "Your refund is on its way and you should receive it within 5-7 business days". 11 working days after and still not refund! They NEVER refund the money fraudulently taken! Their "30 days money back guarantee" is just a joke! I have asked my bank to block any further attempts from AVAST or Digital River and to refund the money. This review Is going to be posted on other websites as well, people need to know and stay away, including Trustpilot. They might do some legal e-commerce as well but they I understand that many others were scammed just like me.”
