“Good value for high standard accommodation for a break in South Shropshire. Food well prepared and enjoyable. Family run business who have gone to great effort to ensure guests have relaxing and enjoyable stay.”
“This is the best B&B we have ever stayed in. The rooms were very comfortable. the owners and staff made us very welcome. the food was brillant, the best steak ever. It is in a lovely area, and we will return soon to do some proper walking. We would recommend thr Baron to anyone wanting a quiet break”
“We only stayed one night, to celebrate my 50th birthday but wish we could have stayed a week. Family run with friendly and attentive staff, lovely food and an amazing setting. Room 5 with a spa bath and fabulous view is the best hotel room we have ever stayed in. Immaculately clean and very comfortable but cosy at the same time. Lots of nice touches like chocolates and toiletries. Everything was perfect and I would recommend The Baron to anyone. Thank you Phil and Debra.”
“the hotel is a hidden Gem, I have stayed at many hotels and nver had such a fantastic room, chocolates and own bottled water was a nice touch. I would recommend this hotel to other people and i know that i would use it again”
“The Baron has to be one of the cleanest establishments we've ever stayed at. The furnishings and finish of the refurbished work - sheds are a credit to the Baron's owners who are rightly proud of their home from home establishment. Little touches (dare I say, obviously female?) brilliant bathroom lighting, shelving in just the right place, discreet night light for the loo etc. toiletries were brilliant quality with plenty of huge fluffy towels available. Big bonus, lovely chocolates and bottled water provided as a matter of course made us feel really welcome. The offer of fresh milk for our teas upon arrival was an extra nice touch. Easily controllable heating, windows opening up onto the countryside for clean fresh air - a bonus these days with stuffy air conditioned hotels in abundance. Tons of leaflets, maps and things to do lists made room 2 a delight to stay in. Wish we could have stayed longer. The bar areas are superbly clean and well designed so that you can eat either in privacy or in the company of the very friendly locals and owners. The food is spot on with a quirky home made pizza menu also available. We enjoyed both menus which were very good value mmmmmm. Breakfast, as you'd expect was efficient and tasty with full use made of the locally produced sausages, bacon etc. I had no problem at all finding something suitable for me, a fussy veggie. Location? Spot on again, just a short drive to Ludlow etc., via beautiful countryside and, another bonus, quiet roads. What more could you wish for? A longer stay next time of course!”
“We really enjoyed our stay at 'The Baron'. The decor and cleanliness of the bedrooms was first class. The food was good and the staff friendly and courteous. We will be returning next year.”
“We couldn't fault our accomodation at the Baron - the room had everything and was spotlessly clean. We only stayed for one night but it was lovely. I can imagine The Baron being a very good, comfortable base for exploring the surrounding area.”
“Our stay from 25-28 Nov 2011 could not have been better. The bedrooms are newly added this year and are extremely comfortable. We had wonderful home-cooked breakfasts and a most enjoyable dinner on one of the evenings. Phil takes great care of all his guests and he and his family all work incredibly hard. Nothing is too much trouble and we wish them all the best in the future and hope to be back again soon.”
“We had a wonderful weekend. The room was super and the staff were friendly and helpful. Food was of a very high standard. This is our second visit and we plan to visit again next year.”
“Had a wonderful two night stay, room excellent standard, bath robes would be a good idea. Staff friendly and efficient, food fabulous, views stunning, will definately be back!!”
“What a wonderful experience. Phil and his wife Debra have a business to be proud of. The bedrooms have a wow factor difficult to find anywhere else and both the bar and restaurant are of an equal standard. It was also a pleasant surprise to find that the prices at the Baron are extremely competitive.”
“Very friendly and helpful staff and a new bedroom with a bed made in heaven resulted in a perfect stay. We ate an excellent evening meal (beautifully cooked lamb and superb salmon) in the dining room with its original features from its days as a mill; it's our intention to return soon to the 'Baron' which is set in the beautiful Shropshire hills.”
“Beautiful setting, lovely food, great variety of walks, and the cleanliness second to none. The area, encompassd by three counties, is very rich in heritage and culture as well as being central to larger conurbations if you so wish”
“The welcome was excellent and the friendliness of the staff continued throughout our stay. Off the beaten track but easy access to Ludlow and other south Shropshire towns. Very comfortable bed and room, great breakfast. All in all a really good place to stay.”
