“After a number of phonecalls and emails I finally got my delivery completed. Firstly only half my order was delivered. I spent days chasing the remainder , never ever managing to speak to anyone in customer service but speaking Accounts people after being redirected. They could only get "someone to call you tomorrow". No one called then out of the blue the remaining case appeared. No contact to say it was to be expected! Apart from the ladies I spoke to in accounts , who were most polite and helpful, I have had no contact with Beer Hawk. The content of cases was in the main most satisfactory , with bottles from exotic locations balanced out by some ordinary continental lagers. Certainly lived up to the "world" beers claim. Difficult to give a more positive view , except to say that they may have been overcome by the Christmas rush.”

“I have to be honest here and say that in the beginning I wasn't that impressed with Beer Hawk as I ordered a beer advent calendar, for my husband, at £75 and then in a matter of days, before I'd even received it, they sent me a link on Facebook advertising it at £65 which I thought was a little out of order. However, during the course of advent I had reason to contact them further as on 10 day when the window was opened the beer bottle was empty! I emailed Beer Hawk about this and within minutes they had emailed back and agreed to send a replacement beer. The replacement came within a few days with another additional bottle as a way of an apology. My husband thoroughly enjoyed opening up each day and trying beers that he would not ordinarily of tried, he particularly, to his surprise, liked the strawberry and then the grapefruit beer and I think his favourite was the espresso beer. It certainly was the gift that kept on giving. We have told all our friends and family about it and at over 50 I think my husband will be looking forward to an advent calendar for many more years to come as I will definitely be purchasing one again.”

“This is a review with two extremes of satisfaction, hence my neutral overall rating. I have been ordering from Beerhawk for several years now and have found their products (beer and a keg machine) to be of excellent quality but what on earth has happened to the customer service? At the time of writing the company has recently moved offices, so perhaps this is the reason, but there were several issues with my last two orders, including missing items, a failure by customer services either to send out or respond to emails and appalling courier service. None of the promised emails were sent to advise that goods had been dispatched and on one occasion goods were left with an elderly, disabled neighbour and on another left behind a dustbin, with no note through my door to say what had happened. (Both items were discovered by pure chance as I had not asked for either of these options if I was out. In fact on the second occasion I was actually in, but the courier just left the box of beers in my garden without even bothering to knock, ring or leave a note - please, please stop using UK Mail!!) The products are good, so I would like to recommend Beerhawk to friends but with service between ordering and safe delivery so very poor at the moment I would certainly hesitate in doing so.”

Helen, Thanks for the review and appreciate the honesty. We have not been perfect and hold our hands up to this... We have sat down and looked at what went wrong and processes are in place to ensure that we do not make the same mistake again. I can assure you that if you or your friends come to us that the same issues will not occur again.

“Great selection of beers which you'd have difficulty finding elsewhere, reasonable prices and, importantly, free delivery if you spend over £50. And quite amazing service. I ordered some beers on Friday night the week before Christmas, expecting the order to be picked on Monday and delivered maybe Wednesday. Wrong, it turned about 10 am Monday morning.”

“I ordered these beers on the 15 November and paid a reduced charge as an introductory offer. I was told they would be despatched on 8 December. I was charged again, the full price this time, on 7 December. Despite two phone calls and two emails nobody has got back to me with an explanation. The week before Christmas I received an automated email to say the beer was on its way but nothing has arrived and it is now New Year's Eve. So, 46 days after ordering and having been billed twice I still have nothing to show for my £58.50.”

“My husband loved his advent calendar and was actually excited to open each door every morning for his after work treat each day! He was so happy I ordered a box of mixed beers as a Christmas present too. I think I've started a yearly tradition. He really enjoyed the variety although there was a strange grapefruit one he wasn't keen on.....! Have already told lots of people of my success this year and plenty of envious husbands/boyfriends are requesting calendars for next year.”
