“They had the beers I was after for my husbands birthday (lambic), unfortunately they got lost in transit and were never delivered, so not Beer Hawks fault. However I had to make two phone calls to sort this issue out, as I didn't get a response from the first chap I spoke to (I requested an email but that never materialised). I realised why on my second call to them, the beers I had ordered were now out of stock, so they could not even send a replacements, I requested a refund which was duly and quickly sorted. I would use them again.”

“Came to Beer Hawk after seeing a review of the Perfect Draft system. I have had excellent service every time I have used them. Also, when I've phoned, it's nice to talk to someone with a little knowledge of products.”

“I relieved a £40 voucher for my birthday. When I tried to spend it, the code was invalid. I tried a few times, getting the same error message each time. So I emailed, giving all the details and a screen grab of the error message, asking in a friendly way whether they could help. I heard nothing back for a week. So I phoned and got an answering machine. I tried phoning again later and got an answering machine again, so I left a message explaining the problem and asking for a call back. I heard nothing for four days. I called back and got an answering machine again. I waited a day and called back and finally got through to someone. He explained that Beerhawk was having a problem with vouchers. I mentioned the lack of replies but didn't have a go at him about it, because I figure it probably wasn't his fault directly. He took my order personally and offered me a discount, which was kind. It arrived soon and I was happy with the products. However, the mail order beer industry is growing fast and there are plenty of beer clubs keen to attract subscriptions - so facing four frustrating customer service flaws (voucher error, no email reply, no-one manning the phones and no callback after leaving a message) in my first interaction isn't something I'm keen to risk again. As a couple of smaller technical issues, many of the beers display a higher customer review rating on the category pages, but then display a lower rating on the product pages. I'm sure this isn't intentional, but it makes browsing the beers by review into a slightly misleading process.”
