“I placed 2 pairs of Low Bend style shoes placed in my cart to purchase as part of Birkenstock’s Last Chance sale, which are discontinued styles. When I checked out, it says they were no longer in stock in the size chosen but I could be notified when they are back in stock. Ok. Fine. A week went by and no notice that they are back in stock so I checked the site and the 2 pairs as well as and all Last Chance styles are now full price, which is more than twice the price. I called customer service and was told that Last Chance isn’t soon to be discontinued but a temporary sale. What? That’s not what Last Chance means in retail lingo. She said they held a few pairs back for a discount but others are in stock. Oh a d I wasnt notified when they were back in stock because that service “doest’t work so well.” Wow. How unethical. This is a scam.”
“I bought the Uppsala Sherling boots because I have Plantar Fasciitis which the boots have helped tremendously. I prefer Ugg boots, I like the way they look and are so so warm, however they aggravate my already aggravated Plantar Faciitis. If you have foot pain, Birkenstock’s are the way to go. I wish they were warm like my Ugg boots, but sadly they are not. I have had to trade warmth for controlled foot pain.”

My return was just sat in the UK depot for over two weeks. It was stressful to get a refund. I had to print out a form they sent me and return it as a PDF. If I had no printer or zero computer literacy I would have been stumped.
Please buy from other outlets if you want to ge treated fairly.”
“I had purchased a pair of Nubuck Leather Mocha boots Nov 27 2022. At the time of posting (nov 7 2023). The sole has separated from the boot. Birkenstock claims this is normal wear and tear for a 1 year old product. I expected better quality from this company. I will never buy another Birkenstock product and will notify everyone I know to do the same. For a $300 price tag I fully expect a better product or at the very least better customer service.”
“While Birkenstock sandals are indeed comfortable, the workmanship is shoddy (mine lasted only a few hours of normal wear before falling apart)--and worse, the company offers no warranty whatsoever (which is deplorable, given the price tag). Knowing what I know now, I would rather have purchased three pair of cheaper sandals, which would have lasted a few summers. I absolutely would NOT recommend Birkenstocks to anyone, let alone a friend, and have already warned a number of people.”
“I've purchased Birkenstocks for over 3 decades, and I will never do so again. The problem starts with quality, and ends with customer service. It's a problem that runs from the bottom to the top of the business, and I don't know that there's a fix when it's broken that badly. I've returned 2 pair that arrived with defects, and 2 pair that developed them in a very short span of time. After being jockey'd around for a few weeks, between multiple "customer service" representatives, I arrived at no resolution whatsoever. Don't waste your time, or money.”
“Ordered two weeks ago. Paid through bank. No respons at all. No confirmation. Filled in the complaint form, but again no response. Sent two emails two headquarters in Germany. Waited for 32min to get somebody on the phone - which is just a call centre and they don't do anything at all for you. Next week I will have to get a lawyer to get my money back.”

After 8 weeks the order is still missing. Complaints is not taken seriously, no shoes, no refund, only a lot of BS explanations. And there are many. If you don’t know what to do on your spare time, order here and you’ll have a full time job trying get your order or a refund.

“The worst on line shopping experience. Sandals took a long time to be despatched then the Evri driver gave my delivery to a stranger sitting in his car. I emailed Birkenstock Customer Service who were useless in their reply, telling me to track my delivery. Complete waste of time. Avoid buying from Birkenstock on line. Level of understanding is very poor”
“Received a pair I loved then buckle broke and lost on in the ocean getting on my boat, ordered another…was two sizes to big plus the were used. Stains and no stickers or tags like the ones I received today.”

“I love birks yet they changed the style of the slip on canvas shoe. I always get a 38. Wide/regular. These newer styles are bigger. I will wear socks that should compensate a little. I already had EVA incerts. I transferred them over so I do not have to break them in. Was really disappointed that the sizing changed. I need the wide part for my toes etc yet the other style had more elastic at the arch so it could mold to your foot.”

You cannot exchange Birkenstock.com at a Birkenstock store. This is terrible for the environment and bad for customer loyalty. You can shop in a store, or, better, find a product that is more environmentally friendly and shop there. Hello Olukai!”
“Ordered a pair of sandal on Nov 19. They sent me the wrong color. Contacted customer service and took them more than 3 business days to reply (after receiving my 2nd email). Tried to call the customer service number to change the size and was put on hold for more than 2 hours before I hung up. Emailed customer service again showing her the screenshot of my hold. Customer service confirmed they will update the size. Did not receive any tracking number of the replacement shipment at all. Contacted them again on Dec 10 and then Dec 15. The reply received on Dec 16 was "I just looked into this, and the item was unfortunately cancelled. I am looking into our wholesale side to see if I can find a pair to send out to you". Terrible customer service. Don't buy from Birkenstock.com. Buy from FootLocker or other retail shops. My purchase was supposed to be a gift to be given out on Dec 11. So glad that I bought another pair from Footlocker as a back up.”
