Blyth online was a very disappointing experience. My daughter taught herself the course - a teacher was not involved in her learning at all (except to grade her assignments/tests). The response time from the teacher took far too long and rarely addressed her questions or concerns. We would never recommend Blyth to anyone. We could have saved ourselves A LOT of money by going through TVO ILC - paying for Blyth did not provide my daughter with any aditional support or services whatsoever.

Please be aware that the online program does not allow for final exam to be reviewed by student and specific feedback is not provided. This is also common practice for tests which limits students from learning from their mistakes. They offer the option to have the exam remarked but there is no other information provided. Their concern is that exams can be copied to which I suggested an in person review which can be supervised. This was rejected. Be aware for the older grades and marks that kids will be using for university. Every high school has an exam review. How else does a student advocate for themselves? I would not recommend.

The course content had multiple errors in spelling, links to the wrong things (one actually went to an international gambling site), end of unit quizes attached to the wrong unit, the list goes on! We sepent a fortune on a tutor to properly teach our child so they properly understood the material for future classes (not with Blyth). The tutor was stunned at how poorly the information was presented. The kicker was I was accidently copied on an email that confirmed Blyth was aware of the issues the summer prior to my daughter beginning the course.

Choosing Blyth was a mistake. My son had several different teachers over the span of his Italian studies, none of whom communicated with the new teacher upon leaving. We were not informed when teachers were changing. We waited weeks and even months to get quiz and test results that only finally came after we complained. My son was expected to teach himself everything as very little actual instruction was given and teachers took a ridiculously long time to answer questions. I have been a teacher for over 20 years. I have never seen such a poor program.

My child did not have a good experience with Blyth Online regarding the grade 12 Italian Course needed for graduation. Although all attempts were made by the student to communicate with the teacher, no one at Blyth Online advised us after weeks of emailing, that the teacher had quit. The second teacher hired only lasted a couple of weeks and also quit. I believe in the end it was the guidance counsellor or someone in administration who was grading the work. This put the student at a stressful disadvantage to complete the course on time for their graduation. I am thoroughly disappointed with how Blyth Academy as a whole let down the student and would not recommend them to anyone!

An overall disappointment. Teacher barely marked assignments and did not respond to any student communication and when asked for help. Zero feedback. .Zero student support and despite multiple requests to have someone (anyone) call me to discuss - I only received emails from the front office. An absolute waste of money, time and effort.

The online teaching presence/support, class structure and any kind of initial one on one orientation/guidance were all woefully absent. My daughter had to self teach the entire course. She perservered and was able to understand the material and do well BUT the lack of online 'teacher' support made for an overall negative and stressful experience. If I were to mark Blythe on its online program/teaching quality— I would give them a D-

Disengaged teacher provided very little academic feedback, was non-responsive to student or parent emails, assignments went unmarked for months. Would not recommend taking online class with Blyth.

This is the worst education experience I’ve had in my whole life. I would not recommend for anyone to sign up to this private school. My friend Riley Torabi recommended the school for me and I regret signing up very much. Thank you for the worst year of education in my life. #blyth is horrible

Specifically the Fashion Design course was terrible. Having gone through a college program for fashion myself, I was dumbfounded to see that one of the assignments was to design and sew a jacket, which is a very difficult garment to make, without having been taught to sew! This was only one assignment, which would have been a course all on its own if this were an in class course. The course load was overwhelming. I would never recommend it.

Not recommended. No value. No direction. Difficult to reach teachers. Better off taking courses through TVO ILC for $40/course and using money for tutors.

Bad experience especially with two Physics courses taken. Teachers are not consistent with their/course requirements and not tolerant at all. They change course requirements, rephrase your answers to remove points so it was quite depressing to complete these courses.
