“I think this course was very informative, and easy to follow. Maybe a little bit too long- i'm wondering if there is any reason why the course couldn't be seperated into an Ocean License and a fresh water license. A large amount of the course does not pertain to many boaters. I really enjoyed the safety ( Hypothermia-heat exhaustion) modules. I think i took the most out of those sections. Also, would be great if after a quiz you could see which question was incorrect. Happy to have my family all licensed and ready to enjoy the summer. Thank you boat smart :)”

“Quite detailed and informative. Quite advanced in certain areas I got what 6 wrong and would like to know correct answer. That would be constructive because the wrong answer ones might be crucial re responsible and correct boating.”

Hi Kenneth - thanks for the feedback! Since there are a finite number of test questions and the test is open book and unsupervised - Transport Canada and NASBLA regulate that the answers not be shown. This is one of the check and balances put into place to maintain the integrity of online testing. As boaters too, we understand the feedback and are working with regulators to try and improve the process within the confines of online testing. Thanks for sticking with it and safe boating!

“Great course,makes people well aware of all aspects of boating,I would prefer to know what answers were incorrect so could go back into the manual and study that part of the course again . Otherwise a great course .”

“got it done - This was painfully long. We should be able to advance through the course if the section is known... in other words we should be able to challenge each section quiz, or at least forward screens instead of waiting. Some screens actually went twice because of the timer. In any event, sitting for 5 hours was not anticipated and much of the course load is not about boating, rather about safety. I have a ton of courses already in safety and did not feel the need to sit through these sections. in any event, those are my comments! thanks”

Thanks for taking time to leave feedback David. We understand the test can take a while for some students, but the time requirements and quizzes are required by Transport Canada and NASBLA to ensure students of all reading levels are able to fully understand all content. The timed requirements are the same across all course providers, and we find many students prefer the convenience of completing the course from the comfort of home, rather than in a classroom setting.
