“I read the study manual first before doing the online course which helped retain the information. Enjoyed the online course and graphics and was particularly happy that I could save the modules and come back to the course at a later time.”

“The boat smart course was easy to do online. I already had some knowledge of boating so I didn't find the course too difficult. You do have to spend minimum times in each lesson but that's ok. I passed all the quizzes and passed the test first time. Easy to navigate and allows you to leave and come back during the course and keeps track of your progress which is nice. I recommend this site to get your boatsmart card.”

“I found the BOATsmart course informative and educational and I am glad that I completed it, even though it's not required in my home state. Even though I have boated for nearly 60 years and am a former member of the CG auxiliary, I did learn a few thing and found very few practices and procedures that contracted what I learned over the years. There is a very common sense approach to this class and a logical presentation of the information. The quizzes and final exam are strait forward and relate directly to the information presented. I also appreciate the lack of double negative statements in the questions. Time to hit the water!”

“Content is extremely informative and helpful but the 30 second video design hinders interest and focus. I would advise making a lecture one module long.”

“I thought it was thorough but remained simple easy to understand and follow. The narrative option was a huge plus and I loved the fact I did not have to complete it all in one session. Although lengthily I was able to complete it on my own time by logging in and out at my convenience. Great program and thanks.”

“I thought the information was mostly good; I'm not convinced of the value of knowing all the all the sources of legislation and regulations and there appear to be many of those. For those that are experienced boaters, or who have taken a course before, there is some repetition in the course material. And there is no option to go directly to quizzes and/or the test.”

“Loved the ease of navigating through the website and the progress tracker. The videos were much more entertaining than reading through text or guidebooks. Customer support was fantastic and super responsive as well. Would have loved it if the content was augmented with real photos of the equipment covered.”
