It was simple to use and it allowed me to move at my pace. The few times I had to contact support they were quick and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get their pleasure craft license.

Let me start off with "this is a very detailed but simple and well thought out service". It is written for a grade 5-6 to easily understand it, and the multiple choice questions weren't always completely obviously so you need to understand the content. The downfall to this service is that all lessons within the modules are timed, but not timed according to the lessons content. They mostly provide an audio, video and written content for each lesson, though if you are a quick reader or already understand the content, you have to wait 40 to 60 seconds before moving onto the next lesson. And when there are 30-50 questions per module that time adds up very quickly. Don't fail a module or you will have to listen/read each lesson all over again ... timed ... no skip button. I understand needing the timer but at least make sure it is sync'd to the questions. The final exam gives you 1hr and 30min to complete ... though if you understand the content you can fly through it in 20min. In total the modules took me 6hrs ... but it was a good experience. Yeh! I have my license! :)

This was a very thorough course and well presented. My husband and I both wrote the exam; feeling secure in our knowledge of boating. Now we get to practice what we've learnt!

Loved it, it would get a 5 star if it wasn't so long like some of the stuff would have been easier if it wasn't as long but over all it was easy and good

Very easy to follow, and great experience. Would have loved to know my wrong answers on quiz to know where to improve.

The online dashboard was quite simple to navigate, I liked the fact that there was a % status indicator so you knew how far along I was in the tutorial. Some of the videos I found to be quite "unnecessary" as they stated the obvious but overall it was a breeze preparing for the exam with BoatSmart.

At first I was skeptical of the whole doing the modules and quizzes plus writing an examination. Previous people didn't have to do that... But, I found the modules rather informative and the quizzes enforced the material as well. The exam made you think, just wish there were more real life scenarios (ie you have 3 boats coming towards you what do you do, or someone on the boat gets a fracture or starts bleeding due to a cut what do you do, you are looking to anchor quickly due to a coming storm that is unexpected what do you look for... given scenarios and choices.). Scenarios would be very beneficial and learn a lot from them, never know what can happen out there, anything really from someone falling over, to a simple cut to someone having a heart attack, or someone getting run over by a boat... thus, scenarios would allow one to learn and think things through.

BOATsmart! Was great. It was very convenient being able to stay at home and write my boating exam. The only problem I have with the system was, I think module two should be broken up into smaller sections.
