Overall I think the course is pretty good. My biggest complaint is that when doing the tests the course does not show you which questions you got wrong and what is the correct answer.

It is a very comprehensive and illustrative website with lots of flash videos to describe the topics of study. It made things so easy!

For myself who has never owned a boat this course was everything I wanted and needed. I found it very informative and noticed my first time out on the water extremely helpful with staying out of potential trouble from other boats.

The course is structured in modules. With limited time available to dedicate to the course, this was very beneficial to me. The quizzes at the end of each module reinforced the learning for that module. My interest in completing the course was definitely peaked by the encouraging screen and email messages congratulating me on finishing the module and encouraging me to continue on to the quiz. I didn't always have the time or inclination to continue but was influenced to do so based on the feedback. I also liked knowing how much of the coursework I had completed. It allowed me to manage my time. I also liked knowing that I could have multiple opportunities to write the final. I am now boat smart. Thanks Boatsmart!

Hi Jason - we understand that you may find the 3-hour course lengthy in duration. However, please understand that the course content and 3-hour timers are a Transport Canada & NASBLA requirement and are consistent across all course providers. This is to allow you the convenience of taking the course from the comfort of home. The timer ensures that you get all of the information you need to successfully pass the Test, without having to sit through an 8-hour, classroom course.

Simple to navigate and thorough. Took a bit longer than I had anticipated, but happy with the knowledge gained and to now be licenced!

Très bonne formation, mais il serait bien de remettre le format PDF du cours pour révision continue après l'obtention du permis.

Extremely long and drawn out videos. Many point valueable and necessary---some things redundant and unnecessary (I.e how to clean a life jacket) Also it would be helpful to give people the idea of how long the entire process will take ahead of time. A long time ago these boat tests could be done in one sitting.

It wasn't clear that you are required to spend 3 hours online in order to do the final exam. I read the whole booklet and completed the tests and practice exam, only to have to redo the entire course online to write the final test. I think you should indicate in large print that the 3 hours online is mandatory and the workbook is simply for additional study and reference.
