“The course seems adequate, being we have to coastlines east and west and everything in between. The course seems to cover a broad spectrum relating to all areas. That being said I felt the course was acceptable.”

“A very easy, simple and to-the-point informative course. Common sense put into "smart sense" and practical use rather than second-nature type attitude. You think you know it all because you paddled a canoe once 20 years ago??...think again!!”

“I enjoyed the course format very much. For me, I found it very helpful to listen to the information and then read it below if I was unsure of something. The one thing I did not like and found a hinderance was the fact that you are not told what questions you answered wrong.......how do you expect us to learn the correct answers if we don’t know which ones we answered wrong. Does not make any sense at all! Why can you not write that into the program??”

“Bought the book at Canadian Tire, hoping to write the test quickly after reading the book. Had to listen to someone read the book to me (poor quality recording) before I could take the test... The videos weren't matched to the timer and I couldn't move on until the timer finished. The videos would play again immediately after finishing which became confusing sometimes (watching videos again!!). Don't know if that was just problems with my system and theirs? Otherwise, informative and convenient.”

“It was a vigorous week. I read the notice about not telling me what I got wrong. However that makes it difficult to correct mistakes. I'm still wondering about some answers and can't remember if some were right or not.”

“I purchased four packages to BOATsmart for my family and I before heading up to the cottage. The course was very user friendly and informative. We enjoyed a week of safe boating!”

“Although I thought the quality of the content was very good, I was in disbelief of the length of time and studying I had to do to achieve this, all for a 2 hour boat ride. It was absolutely GRUELING. It literally took me 2 weeks to complete, in between my busy schedule. My Sister was visiting from New Brunswick and I just wanted to take her on a simple little boat ride, with no intention's of owning my own vessel. I was in tears over the amount of time and studying I had to endure. Oh well, at least I have it for life now. God only knows of the next time I will ever need it again.”

“If questions are answered incorrectly in the quiz, tell people where they were wrong so they can learn better. The questions on the second time taking the quiz are not the same, so why not? They say learning from your mistakes is the best way to learn.”

“Thought I was initially writing the exam with the mandatory timed lessons. Super frustrated to find out that I still had to write an exam after completing hours of reading and answering questions with a minimum 80%.”

“Some of the content was too detailed. The hypothermia section, a medic needs to know the levels, not a boater. A boater needs to know what to do to help. Most of the content was reverent.”
