“I really loved the video portions of the course and they helped solidify the concepts very well. Some of the timers were off by quite a bit of time so I was sitting there waiting for the clock to count down untill I could go to the next section. I listened to the audio on the modules that didn't have video and then followed along reading. I also really liked how you recieved a discount for the number of courses you purchased as it acts like an incentive to get more people certified.”

“About 10% of the videos had no audio yet said they were audio enabled. Happened several times I logged in, not intermittently. Some pages had the exact same thing as the last page?? Some of the question, really, on the quizzes were wrong or not covered. Ex: Lesson said 9% of boating accidents were caused by faulty equipment or failure. On the quizzes, the only choice was 8%. Otherwise it was a good course and easy to use.”

“The course content was engaging, interesting, and presented in a very user-friendly fashion. The combination of pictures, videos, text, and narration made it accessible for several different types of learning, which I really appreciated. The infographics at the end of each module were also very helpful. Altogether, it was a great course that I enjoyed taking and would absolutely recommend.”

“Excellent course! I’ve been on boats my whole like and still learned a lot. This course should be a requirement for obtaining a boating license. Well laid out content, the videos made it easier to understand and the narrator was clear and not boring at all.”

“Content was good and allowed me to pass the exam with ease. I however hated the timed aspect of each page. I found I was constantly waiting for the timer to wind down after I had read the entire page.”

“The content is good as well as the delivery. The modules prepared me for the final test. I DO believe that a way to improve would be to let people know the questions that were answered incorrectly on the module quizzes. That would have let me know what I didn’t know so I could be better prepared.”

“The course was very good it covered a variety of water ways. The information combined with video was great. The ability to go back and forth for review was easy. Leaving and continuing with course worked well. Long but a good well constructed coarse.”

“Very informative and such a great deal. I love this site. I was able to do this all on my own time. The courses took me about 5 hours to get through all 7 chapters and the final exam took about 40 mins. Very good and can't wait to get my operators card in the mail ! Thank you boat smart !! “Course was good, but in some cases to simplistic, but then again I was raised on the ocean and served in the RCN. Your quiz questions were harder then the Dept. of Transport questions.”

“Overall I’d give the course a 95%. It was very informative and easy to navigate my way thru it. However I did not realize the length of time it would take, also did not appreciate another 50 question exam at the end after being “quizzed” at the end of each module, so 7 quizzes and an exam. There are also a couple grammatical errors in the program (at instead of it) and one quiz question was not even covered in the material until 2 modules later. Overall a very thorough and good course for all boaters.”
