I really enjoyed learning at my own pace and the program was very easy to follow. Details were easy to understand and the focus on important info was key in helping to retain.

The part that made me happiest was passing at the end! Great course layout (even though the lessons were timed) it was thorough and selection of the best way someone learns information by either reading it or watching a video. Well done!

I was very impressed by how comprehensive the The Boater Education Course I took at Bootsmart. The topics covered by the course were wide ranging, and as a novice want-a-be boater, I would have never thought about had I not taken the course.

Good information but since you can read faster than video I would prefer to be able to advance pages when I am finished vs waiting for video to finish

The modules and lessons all followed a logical progression and made sense. I have boated lots years ago, travelled for 12 years, retired, and now have a boat on Shuswap Lake, and I learned quite a few things! A suggestion is include a bit more detail in the posted framework that tells the person about to take the course that there are 7 modules and a failly large number of lessons per module, that you will have a review summary and a quiz per module, you will get transferrd to the official Transport Canada site for the actual test then back to the Boat Smart site to print the temp card. Some folks might not be ready for all of this at first glance. Perhaps more instruction to help navagate through, pardon the pun! Overall good and glad I finally hit this site.

I thought the course was lengthy but over all it covered every aspect of the safe operating planning navigating and necessary requirements to operate motor powered watercraft. Good course in my books

Easy to understand. The reading out loud made it easier to remember.

It was very easy and straight forward to follow the course and the practice quizzes at the end were very helpful in preparation for the big final exam.

It was indeed thorough I must say. I was able to pass this everything on my first try, what definitely helped was sometimes pausing videos to scribble notes to reflect on at any point. I had a not too bad 90% module average success rate. 1 critique though, which concerns the final exam. It had questions that in no way shape or form I recall having being discussed through the other modules! About 3 or 4, and I simply had to use my gut instinct on what would be the correct course of action to take, which of course in a real life situation is helpful, but it is not useful in any way when there’s either a right or wrong answer on a website. Other than that though, again it was well spoken/written, and quite nicely and easily went over all the necessary subjects.

The only problem I had with the corse was you weren’t told which questions you missed. That would be very helpful.

Over half of the video presentations did not work forcing me to follow your course by audio only. The few video presentations that did work would loop back to the beginning instead of stopping at the end of the presentation. Such garbage in an online course i have never seen before. This was a total waste of my time and money as i could have received the same training information but simply reading the book and taking the exam.

The course content was good, it covered everything I needed to know. I do have one complaint. Not being able to know what questions you got wrong doesn’t make any sense. How are you supposed to correct yourself or study so you can learn the right answer?? That was very frustrating, then I had to do the WHOLE module AGAIN. Even if you just gave the question(without answers) that would allow me to go back and get the correct information. Having timed slides is also frustrating. I read faster then the video and it was very annoying to have to keep waiting for the timer to finish. I understand you don’t want people just clicking through, but when you have a module with 40 slides at roughly a minute each, and 7 modules. It’s too time consuming.
