at first it seemed very repetitive, but as It went on I realized I didn't know as much as I thought I knew. The information gained was enlightening.

It was a great experience knowing about the water world. The rules and regulations about boating and the most important, the safety of all of us. I encourage you all out there to take this opportunity of doing this test to be safe and enjoy the boating as well as the water world life.

I think this a very good course BUT the reason I did not give it a great overall mark was......1) I think that you should insist that everyone gets the book. That is the ONLY way that people are going to review the information and go over it with other people. I will review my book 3 or 4 times a year. 2) I made 7 mistakes on the final. If you do not tell me about my mistakes then how am I supposed to learn. For all I know my answer on the buoy question was right and I go out and make a huge mistake on the water. 3) I know that you are worried about people cheating BUT it is still very important that they are given the correct information. You need feed back from your tests. Take care and good luck.......Ron Wilkinson ps........Our book will always remain on our coffee table at the lake for all to read including our grandchildren.

The course is well laid out, easy to understand and follow. The exam more than covers the information required by the exam. Passed exam on first try with a high mark

The overall course takes a lot longer than expected. I had to spread it out over a few days in order to stay interested. In the end I scored 96% and received my license, so mission accomplished.

Need a reference book for people to download or have on them while boating.

Hi Derek - thanks for taking time to leave a review. Good news - we do have a BOATsmart! reference book (study guide) that contains all the material that is contained in the course! It is available to purchase during registration, online at boatsmartmarine.com, and available at most Canadian Tire stores.

Excellent program. The only problem I had was after completing a module And selecting quiz I accidentally hit something to score the test which I had not started so it scored me a zero and made we start the entire module over. Instead of resuming the quiz?? It just took me longer to do that one module. Not a big deal. The material was very useful!!

Since I did it in french, some picture did not show the french words or the picture was not available for clicking (ex: module 6, page 11). In general, some picture were to small to see the details.

did teach a lot but very boring at times, if you could have speedup some of the timed viewing material , it would have helped

Overall the course was great. I found some of the commercial boating, river and ocean portions irrelevant as I live in the midwest. I took it to increase my knowledge and did challenge myself.

The course was very informative, and was easy to follow. My only complaint is that I found it extremely frustrating that you had to wait out the mandatory time limit before proceeding to the next page. I am a very fast reader and more often than not I would be done reading the page long before the time minimum was up. This kind of wasted my time, since I would spend a good thirty seconds to a minute sitting there waiting for the next page to be available. Overall the course was great.

There's some areas that needs the timer changed. It's too long. Should have the timers set for 2 or 3 seconds longer then the video playing.

One improvement I could see that would be beneficial to students would be to show them the mistakes they make after taking the quiz's and after the exam. No sense making a mistake if you can't learn from it!

Some times don't match the lesson video length. I have a book so it would have been nice to challenge the quiz right away instead of having to go through the entire module I had already read.

Hi Jayson, We understand the timers can be frustrating for quick readers, but they are required by Transport Canada (or NASBLA) to ensure all students take the time to truly read and understand the information. All course providers have the same time requirements.

The course is very well put together with audio and animations. Until I took the exam, I was not sure how well the course was going to prepare me, but it turned out that the modules were just right and my confidence grew as I started to answer the questions.
