Just made a recipe from the bean book (with a modification or two to suit the larder contents) Pea pesto sauce for Queen Butter Beans- I added some steamed white fish and broad beans ( might throw in a few prawns later). Got some crusty bread or a nice baked potato. I've used the white beans with leeks on toast a few times- delicious! I use the bortolotti beans ( or white beans) in spicy tomato and bean soup regularly now. The Baked beans are good too......”

Bit disappointed with the lids on the new jars, we know that you need them to stand out on the supermarket shelves. We used to save the jars and lids and use them to decant dry goods into them for our pantry but we don't like the logo on the top. However, these lids open much more easily, which is great but we have to use a wooden spoon handle to get the beans at the bottom out as my spoons don't fit in the jars. Trivial issue and we love these beans too much to stop buying them.”
