“Best butter beans ever! I am 71 years old and I have tasted many beans but when I saw this jar of queen butter beans I was astonished at the size of the bean. Never seen the like before. But then I tasted them and once again astonished and amazed that butter beans could taste that creamy and such a smooth texture hard to describe smooth but firm enough to hold their shape. “These beans are amazing! So much better than anything you can buy in a tin. When they form the main part of a meal the price of a jar seems no different than buying a piece of meat, so not expensive when viewed in that light.
Both cookbooks are excellent, with so many delicious recipes to try. The courgette beanotto is lovely in the summer and the borlotti bean Norma is a great one for chillier evenings. We recently tried the chickpea and balsamic strawberry salad. Amazing! This one has become a firm favourite for a summer lunch.
We eat beans at least twice a week and would absolutely never dream of going back to beans in a tin. Bold beans are totally delicious and worth every penny.”
