“So far I have scheduled three sessions over the last three Sundays.
* The first went well and I was so happy to find a therapist I felt connected to.
* For the second appointment, my therapist didn’t show up and didn’t send responses to my private messages until several days had passed.
* For the third, the therapist canceled the appointment with 30 minutes of the scheduled start time. She didn’t send me any messages or reasons for needing to cancel it.
At this point I feel very discouraged in trying to get help for my childhood sexual abuse trauma. I will see how the next scheduled session goes (6/10), assuming it occurs, and decide if I am going to cancel with Brightside altogether.”
“I wish I could say I loved it but the app has been repeatedly preventing me from scheduling an appointment with my care provider. So I've only been able to meet with my care provider once. I've contacted support and they didn't fix it, so I'm having to coordinate solely via messages for now.”
“I don’t like that the doctors are unable to write prescription for controlled substances as that is all I am taking. Therefore, I don’t know how long I can continue”
“Need more appointments past 5PM, I work the normal 8-4:30 shift and when I look for a new appointment I have to go way back to find the one opening at 5PM which could be weeks out.”
“The talk therapy with Jerre I like. The medication management was not worth it because she cannot prescribe controlled substances that I already take. The management of payments is horrible. I’ve been way overcharged when I have insurance and it should have been 15.00 a time. Not 70.00. Now my HSA is denying charges because I’ve been so overcharged the fund is out. Also, a phone number for a live Brightside person for account issues is difficult to find unless you really dig for a number. Furthermore, I was charged a no show fee of 70.00 although I called, left a message and left my therapist a message that I could not make my appointment the day of my birthday because something came up. Frustrating.”
“Only real complaint would be ability to help support mental health related disability claims in CA. Getting in person appointments covered by insurance in timely fashions is absurdly difficult and subject to frequent cancellations and delayed appointments last minute. Was able to do so via BetterHelp in the past and was a bit surprised similar capacity could not be found here in emergency situations not requiring hospitalization. However at BetterHelp I could not get appropriate medications, which give the advantage here for that aspect certainly! Beyond that, all is great and super convenient, great professional care and services.”
“It’s fine but I don’t like how the pricing is not easy to determine. I have no idea how much Brightside is costing me. I can’t believe it takes this long to find out how much insurance is covering and then to bill me. I am afraid to schedule another appointment with my provider because I don’t know how much that will cost.”
