I was disgusted they wanted to charge me £35 administration fee to change my email address when it requires absolutely no effort on their part. I will look for another insurer on renewal.

Disgusting service. Just tried to swap my insurance over from my old company which insured my van to Brightside which is insuring my New vehicle. (Car). I had a 9 year no claims on my last policy: Although CVD is a sister company of Brightside and they are under the same umbrella so to speak, Brightside said I would have to send them the no claims document myself as they said they did not have access to CVD computer system. They are in the Same building and not one member of staff could go across to CVD to ask for them to send the no claims by email. It was all put on the customer. After chasing CVD to send the no claims to me I eventually sent it to Brightside and asked for this to be sent to me by post. To date I have received nothing. CVD said they had sent the no claims by post twice and that both times the letters had been sent back with return to sender no longer at this address. Yet when we checked they had exactly the right address, so how was this possible to happen twice. Once maybe but twice!! Brightside then said that everything had been received and all was ok and I was definitely insured. Only to be told in an email the following day that Brightside had cancelled my insurance!!!! WTF. Then another email stated to ignore previous email and that I was insured after all. I had been emailing a named customer service person to say the PDF document he sent could not be opened. It was resent but when I tried to check something with them again, all I got was an out of office reply. Nothing but stress and messing me about. I am with this company for 1 year unfortunately. But will definitely be changing when my insurance is due again.

I don't know where they got 6 star rating? One would be to much! They quoted me for a 2012 Ford Focus 1 liter engine..nearly £300 more than I pay for a top of the range 6cylinder Mercedes! Perhaps someone can explain that?

Money grabbing thefs. Wanted to cancel my policy today and apparently I have to pay 700£ first . What the hell.. I offered my kidney because I cannot afford to give up this much money. Do you think they care? Of course not, they cancelled on me! Fine brightside, we all know this is how you play, if we don't obbey you just cancel our policy's so that other insurance will cost as more but if we want to stay you charge us at least 100£! You are legal fraud, scam company!

What a company not all highway robbers wear masks, 6 months to go on my policy that I paid in full, so about £100 not used and they still charge me £24 to cancel, and no refund of policy, this is a joke if I had not done the right thing and said nothing it would have just expired and cost nothing. Refuse to pay and they cancel anyway and put a black mark on insurance data base that you have had insurance canceled, Brightside and Churchill I will never be using your company again

After I cancelled my car policy and paid my cancellation fees. They chased me with many emails asking me for outstanding of £15 and when I called them I have been told ‘this is a mistake and sorry we will resolve the issue’ that happened for 2 months. And at the end they transfered my name to the collection money :-(

Shocking service. Was told my car policy would automatically renew. Then get a text today saying they omitted to renew due to oversight with system. Asked me to call them to sort it out. So turns out I have been insured for a week , wouldn't have been covered had I been in accident and had the audacity to tell me they would offer a new policy but as the old one had lapsed - due to their fault remember - the new policy would increase by 25% . No apology and no offer for a reduction so went elsewhere

Horrible customer service! Actually the worst I have ever received! Avoid at any cost. I have been with them for 2 years and my insurance was due to renew, they've sent me a reminder 45min before expiry!! And then 45min later another email saying that it expired. I called them and a VERY bored advisor said that can't see where my problem is because they DID send me an email 45min before expiry so.. Then said that they can't insure me anymore (doesn't know why they can't) but their friend insurance company can do the cheapest one for £3000!! And I usually pay around £600. Disgusting. Shame on you people!

Lying fraud insurance company. Please don't get the lie insurance company. Their team member will lie to you when you buy their insurance and then will claim money from you. I have to pay money 200 pounds for 4 days insurance (cancellation fee plus black box fee even though i never had a black box in my car.

Unfortunately, I had to cancel my car insurance 6 months into my policy with Brightside due to having an unexpected seizure and not being able to drive. I paid £341.42 outright for my insurance and they offered me a refund of £22 for the remaining 6 months of my policy. Absolute con men!

Horrible service, horrible people working there! Had an argument regarding my extremely high policy (£3000) made a complaint, chased customer service several weeks no answers! Finally when they came back to me they denied my complain and cancelled my policy! Took the deposit money and charged me on top! What a scam company, stay away to save your time, money and healthy

Horrible customer service. Hidden policies which I was not made aware before purchasing it. I raised a complaint and it was denied. Like someone here said make sure you have a good eye on small shrift. Will truly rip the last trousers from you! Waste of time, energy and money! Stay away from this insurance company.

I spoke to three people as the first two people were experiencing issues with their computers. The third person was extremely rude and spoke to me terribly, told me I couldn't take out insurance with my daughters name on it and would not give me any other options, I ended up suggesting the other options I could take to him that the previous person had gave me and he said 'Yeah... you could do that...' I just hung up because he sounded like he did not want to speak to me at all.. nearly one hour of my time wasted. Disgusting way to treat a possible client.

I GOT SOLD A SCAM!!! I’ve been affectionate customer of brightside insurance fo 2 years and when I bought my policy I did tick all the boxes to have everything covered while purchasing my policy, including excess, helmets & leather, pillion passengers, legal expenses, breakdown, I never tried to buy a cheap insurance as I didn’t have a cheap motorbike neither cheap motorbike’s clothing + helmets, in fact I happily paid over £1.084 in a single payment for it. Suddenly on the 12th of September 2020, my bike was stolen, and with it: - my helmet with “mx helmet black 6d” helmet with - Interphone “Tour” Bluetooth fitted in it - my “dainese mistel suit” leathers - my gloves “alpinestars GP pro” All these items add up to almost £1.900 They were stored and locked in the sides metal boxes of my motorbike at the time of theft. When I reported the theft to Aviva they told me excess + leather were covered from the broker, so you brightside, I then called you and was confirmed from one of brightside employees that yes the policy I bought covered the theft of helmets and leather and I was covered up to £1.500 but I needed to call, again, another insurer Direct Group, which annoyed and rudely told me this wasn’t the actual cover they were offering, No Theft was covered?! In the policy you sold me they were all included Mr Gallard, when I called earlier this week on the 5th of October and spoke to Angela from brightside, she also was 100% sure I was covered for the theft too and she proudly called Direct Group to confirm it, but she then also found out I was sold a scam as not even you brightside knew this as it wasn’t mentioned nowhere when I purchased the policy and none of your team is trained or aware of this. So yes I’m totally unhappy I was sold a very expensive scam and I purchased the same cover for 2 years not knowing it.

Absolutely disgusted! I never signed my electronic agreement for another year and after trying to cancel my policy during the 14 day cooling down period they still took money out my account automatically, they also upped my policy from £50 a month to £80 a month!! I finally cancelled my policy with a cancellation charge of £250! I complained and they just dropped it to £175 as though they was making the figures up! I was then told not to pay the £175 by Brightside till they speak to the underwriters but yet I continued receiving malicious E Mails of final warning from Beightside, this led me to no choice but to pay the £175 in the end for something that I still didn’t agreed to... Absolutely disgusting!
