How does bunq maintain the security in the application?
Asked by Leonardo Teixeira (1 day ago)
Well, there is 2FA, like everywhere, but more unique thing is the AI they use. It basically tracks the transactions and if somebody logs into your acc and tries to send all your money away, it will understand that something is not right, and block that transaction until investigation. If if notices something off-base, it will block and warn you, basically. But this is a double-edged sword, I had my legitimate transaction blocked because I was paying for a car, and Bunq thought it was too big of a transaction, coming from my poor butt xD Had to show them the docs so they would believe me. If you want, that feature can be disabled, and most other security features too (rotating CVCs, delayed payments, alerts, security lock etc), if they are too much.

What can you say about their services, is it different from using traditional banks?
Asked by Jasper P. (1 month ago)
I'd say yes and no.No in a way that they still offer money management services as most banks, you can essentially control what to do with your money, to save, or to send, or to receive and etc. Yes in a way that it's a neobank. Meaning that they don't have a phsycial building, and this decision allowed them to focus all their attention on providing the best services. Also, they have many differences in extra features that they provide, as travel insurance, green initiaitve and so on.

What can you tell us about this bank's application and its interface?
Asked by Borja Cueva (1 month ago)
I can tell that bunq’s app is very simple to use and at the same time it has all the functions I need. But at first I was a bit confused about budgeting and sub accounts. Maybe it’s because I have never dealt with it before idkOn the bright side now you can always ask Finn if you stuck with something in the app

What is the best Bunq plan to use if my main goal is to save and grow my money?
Asked by Rodrigo Pinho (2 months ago)
Whatever plan you choose, a savings account is included. I think there is no difference between the plans regarding the savings account. So, if your main goal is to use it for this purpose, then probably you can opt for the Easy Bank pro plan for which the monthly cost is only 10 euros. Some may say that the best option would be the Easy Savings plan, which comes for free, without a monthly fee, or the Easy Bank, for which the monthly fee is only 4 euros, but I would disagree. If you plan to use it to grow your savings, there are excellent features, such as setting saving goals, round-up feature, and others, that are only available with the Easy bank pro plan. Paying a bit extra in monthly fees will help you save even more. So, I recommend you explore the features and don’t make your decisions based only on the monthly fees.

Can you disclose info about their recent update concerning bonus interest?
Asked by Felix Maier (3 months ago)
It is multi tier, and will be exhausting to break it down in here. Just know that it allows you to gain interest on your savings past your threshold amount. If you are a new client, you threshold is zero, so you wont be affected by it. You will have the variable 3 point something percent interest rate. As for old clients, all savings above your threshold will also accumulate interests. That is basically what it is.
Answered by Alex Domingo (3 months ago)
Here's what I know about it, buddy: To receive these bonus interest rate, you need to find out your threshold amount. Your threshold amount is the highest savings balance achieved between January 1 and June 30, 2024. From July 1 to December 31, 2024, you will charge a base interest rate of 2.16% on the balance of savings up to this threshold amount. Any balance exceeding this threshold amount earns a bonus interest rate. You can read more about it here: https://together.bunq.com/d/57042-how-is-my-massinterest-calculated-and-paid-outMy answer is based on what I learned here.

Is it a reliable bank because I have some doubts if they offer services online?
Asked by Kevin B. (6 months ago)
Yeah, bro, they are reliable, because they have an official approval from the European Central Bank which stands for the major financial institution on the whole continent. Basically, it's a nonsense to imagine a bank that has been operating in the industry for a substantial period without any license from higher authorities. So, no worries, you will have a comprehensive protection of your funds and private data here + some insurance in case of necessity.

How can I obtain a physical card from this bank, or only virtual are available?
Asked by Philipp Maier (9 months ago)
This bank can provide you with both virtual and plastic cards. Most likely you haven't used their application yet or you started recently. They just have everything you are looking for in their app. You can order even a metal card. It's a classy thing! So if you want to get physical plastic card, I recommend trying metal one too.

Can you make a case of choosing an Easy Green over Easy Money?
Asked by FELIX PLAS (10 months ago)
I think I can name quite a lot of evidence that Easy Green is better than Easy Money. Let me start with that if you care about nature, then of course you can take part in environment care thanks to Easy Green charity program. And of course after opening an Easy Green account you will get maximum level of benefits and services. In short, you will have access to the whole list of services and advantages that this bank has. And also these services will be on the most favorable conditions. As it seems to me, if you are interested in getting the most benefit from using bank's services, then of course you should choose the most advanced plan.
Answered by Wiebe (9 months ago)
Oh... yes. There are many reasons to select one of the high accounts. Some of the things that you get that are absent in the other accounts include; 1. multiple bank cards 2. metallic card option 3. free withdrawals 4. automatic sorting of payments ... there are just so many perks of having one of those accounts that I cannot even mention. But the easy bank account is also a great option.

How does the deposit guarantee scheme work? Explain it to me as if I am a five year old.
Asked by Hector (10 months ago)
Then buckle up and let's go! deposit gurantees are one of the conditions that the bank must fulfil to obtain a licence to operate. In this case, Bung has receved a licence to work from the European Central Bank (ECB) and here the condition is that deposits must be insured up to 100,000 euros. This is a guarantee that your deposit is safe and in case the bank goes bankrupt your depossit of up to 100,000 euros is insured and the third party where the deposit is insured will need to pay you out. So if you have a deposit of up to 100 000 euro, you are safe and you should n't care about the solvency of the bank.

Can I use the new AI assistant's (finn) beta on my free app or is it only for the paid accounts?
Asked by Marvin Weber (11 months ago)
Buddy, feel free to use it in your app! Finn can be used in any bunq app regardless of your plan type and so on. Also as far as I know it's a beta version, so it's valuable for bunq developers to get more feedback from using this AI. So bunq would appreciate you using this service and asking a lot of questions. So feel free to talk to him about anything. I think he can tell you a lot about bank's features and services that are available to you.
Answered by Paxton Joyce (11 months ago)
As far as I know this AI helper under the name Finn is available on: - Easy Savings; - Easy Bank; - Easy Money; - Easy Green; So, actually for all available plans. So even if you have a free plan Easy savings nothing hinders you to use the assistance from this helper. It is capable of answering tons of questions and this is just a tool from the bank for streamlining the overall process of clients' interaction with services. Such a cool instrument, sincerely speaking, innovative one.

How can I find the ATMs that are eligible for withdrawals of my money?
Asked by Stefano Mazza (11 months ago)
I don't think it's a very arduous task. Everything is because almost every ATM you run across is suitable for withdrawing money from the bunq =) I assume there are certain maps of ATMs, so you can google it and find the one nearby your location. As a last resort, you can try to contact the bank's customer support to get a more detailed information or search for it in the bank's blog or FAQ section.

Asked by Gabriel de Backer (1 year ago)
12 out of 10 ? I recomend bunq everywhere to everyone! And here as well! It made my life esier when it comes to mony management. I am in love with their sub-accounts feature. It is a simple but powerful feature, making finance management a less-stressful task! Also, there are plenty of other useful fetures If you are in neobanking, this company stands out from their competitors due to the number of features they offer.

I’d say 8 probably. Just because I like the bank and its services. But at the same time I want to give it room for improvement in the future.

What do you think of the help center this bank has? Is it useful and somehow helped you to meet conditions closer?
Asked by Ben Kober (1 year ago)
Unquestionably. When I first faced this neobank, the very first thing I did was research of their help center which contains oodles of information about the services. I wanna mention their FAQ section which contains information about: - Signing up - Account - Plans - Different features - Payments Other than that, there are step by step tutorials, so don't worry if you don't understand how to interact with them. They have worked everything out well enough. This is why I like working with this bank, actually.

Is it reasonable to choose Easy Green plan taking into account pretty high monthly fee?
Asked by Cyril Mace (1 year ago)
Pretty much reasonable. You know, when you get this plan, you also get an access to the full functionality this bank offers. You don't need to bother that you won't be able to do something, like open joint accounts or get cash back. Plus, you have the highest interest rate on the market, so the counter question after my explanations: is it reasonable to choose it? =) Hope you'll answer yourself correctly.

Do I really need a physical card?
Asked by Leone R (1 year ago)
I had the same question in mind when I was ordering the card. Anyway, I ordered it and I have with with me. To be honest, I never used it till today ? I connect my account with Google Pay and there is absolutely no need to have a physical card for your payments. The only place that you might need it is if you want to withdraw cash from an ATM.

Has anyone had any problems using this bank abroad?
Asked by Jürgen S (1 year ago)
Nope, it works absolutely great first of all, all throughout europe. you get really favorable fx conversation rates, it helps you keep track of your spendings abroad in a really cool way and it has a way with foreign currencies, so my take is it absolutely deserves ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!
Answered by Arthur (1 year ago)
No! And that's what I like more about this bank. I'd even say, this feature was decisive for me cuz I adore travelling and I am driven by wanderlust. You can easily withdraw money using the ATMs across the Europe, as well as if you need to exchange currency, rates are very favorable. As far as I remember, these guys even position themselves as the best solution for those keen on travelling, and I admit, it's like that.

Why do I need so many digital cards for myself?
Asked by Vincent J (1 year ago)
You DON’T. Those virtual cards are for the people who want to divide their spendings online, or offline since the digital cards of the Bunq works pretty well with Apple pay. I tend to use one or two cards, but I know some of my friends use different Digicards for every online shop.

What are the perks of using this bank for international transactions?
Asked by Janis (1 year ago)
There is quite a number of perks when it comes to using this bank internationally First you can have multiple IBANs and multiple currencies all in one app. With Zero FX, you can spend money internationally saving money on exorbitant exchange rates. And also with Wise, you can transfer money internationally without stress. Theres more but these are the ones I remember.
Answered by Oscar Michiels (1 year ago)
There is tons of benefits using bunq for internal and international transactions, first of all the bank has very good connections and integrations to all kinds of banking systems, they know what they are doing because they are an online bank to begin with! second, they are quite safe, they have all kinds of licenses and protocols to do those kinds of things. You should be able to get that feeling the first time you do a transaction with them. It is all tangible.

Has anyone tried to open joint accounts? Any specific details, pals?
Asked by Hugo Marie (1 year ago)
Family budgeting is actually one of the main reasons why I aplied for services to this bank. My wife made me do it, like, look, there's a nice digital bank where we can open a joint account and plan all spending together. As usual I sighed, and did it. The coolest thing, it tok me just 5 minutes, imagine? That's very convenient, undoubtedly.
Answered by Gil Leal (1 year ago)
My wife and I recently opened a joint account with bunq! In today's fast-paced world, where time is of utmost importance, having the ability to seamlessly manage our finances together in a single unified space has proven to be nothing short of remarkable. Setting up the account is a straightforward process without any noteworthy aspects. Like everything else on their extremely user-friendly app, simply follow the provided instructions :) It's one of the most beneficial features we've found in the bunq!
Answered by Mathieu Mercier (1 year ago)
What’s up pal, you just got married or what? ? Jokes aside, joint account is a lifesaver feature bunq is offering. It’s all for the peace in your household ? The process of creating this type of account is much simpler if you have had experience with traditional banks. There is no need for proof of a relationship status or similar docs, just your wish is enough and you need to provide the necessary detail in the registration form. That’s all.

Can I use Bunq's mobile app to order pizza and have it delivered to my doorstep?
Asked by Lars Timmermans (1 year ago)
I haven’t tried it to be honest, but I think you can. However, I don’t think that you can do it from the Bunq app directly, as the company is not a food delivery after all. Although sometimes when I look at the number of functions the app has, I think that I won’t be surprised if they will deliver food at some point xD

What’s the best plan for saving money?
Asked by Juancual (1 year ago)
I reckon easy saving is the best option for those who want to accumulate money but don't want to pay a lot for the plan. Basically, you don't even need to pay something as the plan is completely free of any charge. It's shrunk from the point of different functions, but, still, all of the crucial ones are still available and you can enjoy.

How hard is it to get a physical bank card from this bank?
Asked by Bernard Horn (1 year ago)
There is nothing difficult to get it. You can find the proper section on the website and order a physical card with a Mastercard payment system. It will allow you to pay wherever you want. The whole process is super easy, so don't worry.
Answered by Dirk Herman (1 year ago)
This process is easier than it might seem at first glance. To be honest, I don't really understand why you need a physical bank card, because all financial transactions can be made with the help of an application and the capabilities of a smartphone. But nevertheless bunq provides a simple procedure for obtaining a bank card.

What’s the point in making a bunq pack account? Aren’t Joint account enough?
Asked by O.Ekberg (1 year ago)
These are different things. Bunq Pack is an account for friends that makes the bunq services cheaper than it would be for individuals. Whereas Joint account is for family members to track the expenses and budget the funds together with your spouse or maybe elderly relatives. Check the bunq website for more detailed information on this, as I don’t know all the nuances.

Does this platform offer any capital protection in terms of my deposit?
Asked by Lion (1 year ago)
Don’t worry mate. Bunq has your deposit covered in different ways. I mean there is lots of protection of your account and your deposited money too. The one that you're interested in is related to the Dutch Deposit Guarantee (DGS) scheme. Basically it implies that your funds up to 100,000 euros are automatically covered. So you don't have to sign any additional documents. As long as you have the account the DGS protection is already there.
