“I ordered a Canon battery as a back up for a shoot I had coming up. The website showed the battery was available. Two days after making my order I am notified that it is on back order. I tried to arrange to rent one for the day I needed it but the member of the web team I was emailing wasn't helpful at all and I ended up renting one from another company instead. SIX weeks after placing my order I get an email telling me my order is ready to collect. When I went to collect the battery in-store the assistant appeared to have no clue when it came to locating it and after a while handed me a battery with no invoice or reference to my order attached to it. It wasn't until I got home that I realised it was not the battery I ordered. Really disappointed in Calumet on this occasion.”

“I happened upon Calumet after watching a YouTube video about the U.S. preference for lens rental. I searched for photographic rental in the UK and found Calumet, which apparently is itself an American company. What interested me about Calumet was that it set its website out in such a way that allows equipment to be selected without pressure to buy the biggest and the best and the latest. It reminded me of my other interest, which is woodwork. In this regard my local ironmongers and timber shop understands the need to invest in what you do most and concentrating on getting the best tools you can. Calumet impressed me because the short rental of unusual lenses was quiet at odds with the high street that would prefer people become 'pack-mules' laden with equipment for every eventuality. Having said all this I am not a professional photographer but instead an enthusiast. In fact I am an autistic artist who uses photography as a reference and I work alongside a deaf photographer and artist.”

“Calumet initially refused to deliver to our offices "because out order was too large" . Following the order being placed were were contacted by email asking for additional information to verify the puchase given its value - that's fine as our business occasionally acts in a similar way. Then despite being given this information promptly Calumet then flip flopped between agreeing to ship and demanding we attended one of their stores. They did not return email quickly or return calls within agreed timelines. Eventually they delivered a day late. The kit itself is good and the site easy to use. I would recommend them as a company but for big purchases you're better off visiting the store.”

“I ordered a camcorder in april and was told it would be available in 2 weeks. It wasn't and i had to constantly phone the Belfast shop and your head office to complain. everyone said they would look into it and get back to me. no one ever did. Very poor customer services.”
