“Very helpful staff, I have started a camera club at work and discussed with Calumet about using their studio and to introduce yhrmselves to club members. Introduction was very well received, one member has joined as a student so teceives discounts and advice. Also great bargains furing the sales.”

“For more than 8 years, since I moved to the UK, I've been Calumet's customer. And as I've been using other photographic shops in London as well I can compare all of them. I can safely say the Calumet is the number 1.”

“I like Calumet a lot and their range, prices and customer service is excellent. I would have given a 5 star rating were it not for the rather antiquated ordering system. I have shopped in store, phone order and on-line, sometimes popping into Milton Keynes to pick up orders. However, the "system" has created numerous accounts and the staff at MK have found it the devils own job to find my order despite my having the order copy printed off by me in my hand! This has now happened on a couple of occasions and is a little exasperating to have to add on 5-10mins each visit for what should be a simple process. I appreciate this may be a one-off issue, but a new(er) system would be able to locate the customer quicker surely? Recently I was picking up two orders one on-line and one by phone. The on-line was not coming up but the phone order was! Ironically I only did the phone order as the on-line system wasn't applying an on-line discount. The staff were great both on the phone and in MK and in MK they promised to get the 'IT Elves' to make sure that in future the accounts should be pointing in the right direction. That's really good as when mistakes happen it is how it get's sorted out that counts. However, some review on the IT systems would be good to sort out some of these issues.”

“Always helpful, providing information and discussion to ensure the purchase was correct and compatible with existing kit, highlighting advantages and disadvantages of the chosen products and the competition. At the purchase stage the Cactus transceivers weren't in stock in Birmingham, stock was quickly located in Manchester and delivery promised for next day. As promised early next day the goods arrived. It would have been great if they had been in stock in Birmingham, but you can't hold all the stock in all the shops. A great Service!”

“It's not easy buying competitively priced film but Calumet stock is always well priced and with the student membership discount and free delivery, I rarely buy from anywhere else.. Well stored stock, fast delivery times, and really competitive pricing. Excellent.”

“I am giving a poor review as the initial customer service we got in the Drummond Street store was abysmal - the woman staff we felt with could not have been more unhelpful, un-charming and irritating to a point that we nearly walked out to go to another photography shop. She was a very poor customer facing member and has not done Calumet any service. Thankfully we approached another member of staff and got a good service from him. My experience of Calumet was also tainted the previous day to our store visit when I tried to buy equipment online - the payment gateway crashed, then when I called, the member of staff was not particularly enthusiastic or helpful and then the line was cut dead, hence why we had to drive up to the store the next day. In all, I would not refer Calumet to a friend or colleague - only a last ditch place to go to... if you really have to. Calumet's prices are not competitive and with poor customer service there is nothing to recommend the company.”

“The next day delivery guaranteed turned out to be 2 days late by which time it was too late for the event I needed the camera for. I called someone on the phone at Calumet to explain when I got a text message from DPD courier company letting me know - she promised she would send me an email confirming order cancellation which she didn't. I then called someone at Calumet to cancel the subsequent order I had made the next day (camera case, memory card) as I bought it all elsewhere... and he again said he would email confirmation of this which I did not receive. Then, on the Friday, a solitary memory card arrived in the post... I have no idea if I am being charged for this or if this is a token conciliatory offer.”

“The Brilliant paper arrived quickly, was inexpensive and works well. What stops it being very good is there are no technical specs for Brilliant paper and the supplied .icc profiles - where they exist - aren't as good as using the Epson generic settings. But perhaps I'm being a bit miserable - the matt paper produces lovely images once you've done sufficient tests.”

“On the phone to them for 3 days for a total of probably an hour to locate a package, was promised a call back 3 times...no one called and had to chase. Paid for next day delivery, ended up cancelling order. Terrible customer service, shambles”

“I always shop at the Birmingham branch where the manager (Adele) and Tom are very good and helpful people. I can rely on these two members to help, guide and advise me. The branch is also in an excellent setting and easy to reach.”
