“Bought this Calumet portable light stand in the sale - very good deal. It scores over my current portable lightweight stand in a number of areas: It's higher. It's shorter when collapsed down - both of these due to it being a 4 section stand as opposed to the usual 3. It looks and feels more robust - all metal parts, and large diameter (for a portable stand) poles. It also has a broader base than the usual cheap lightweight stands. The screw based clamps mean it does take a while longer to put up and take down than a flip-type clamp stand. One legs doesn't fold up completely as it is blocked by the leg clamp on the centre pole) It also weighs quite a bit more than other small stands as it seems to be made of steel, however I'm only ever carrying one of these in a way that the weight matters (ie strapped to my camera bag, with a shoot through brolly on the other side). All in all, this is a very well thought out stand that could even take a small studio monoblock in a pinch, and very good value.”

“I ordered a Shutter realease for my Nikon D200 camera which arrived within two days well packed and as specified. I have tried it and it fits my camera and operates the shutter correctly. I was more than pleased with the price I paid. J Draper.”

“While I have nothing to say regarding the material I purchased, the information provided (updates, online info on the Calmet Site) by Calumet was poor. I had to contact the firm at multiple occasions and was told there is known problem with the site that does not provide an updated status of orders. Furthermore, I was told I would be informed me as soon as the camera was dispatched, which was not done.”

“Good online experience and easily ordered to collect from store. When I arrived at the store the experience in picking up wasn;t so good, it took some time to find the actual item and the assistant wasn't clear if it had been paid for or not. Fortunately I wasn't in a rush but if I had been I wouldn't have been happy.”

“I ordered a Manfrotto 190cxprob tripod and it was delivered as promised the next day. The price was very competitive and cheaper than Wex and Jessops so I'm well pleased. My only criticism and this is why I've said 'Good' and not 'Very Good', would be that no email was sent to let me know the item had been despatched and when I rang Calumet to ask if had been, the lady I spoke to was a bit curt with me. Apart from that, I will use Calumet again if the price is right ????”

“I always enjoy my visits to Calumet - I use the Hagley Rd. branch, Birmingham. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly and manage to pitch their explanations a levels to suit their customers' understanding. The shop is well stocked and staff are always happy to offer alternatives for comparisons to be made before the customer makes their choice. I was very pleased to be allowed to take a 150-600mm lens into the street to see what it was capable of, I didn't think I would be able to do that. Calumet offers a high quality and friendly service, stocks a wide range of top end products and gives customers the time to browse and exchange ideas, questions etc. Professional but unhurried. Keep up the good work Calumet - it's a pity every retail experience isn't this pleasant!”

“Buying a new product using pre-ordering. The product was in short supply and I needed it fairly urgently for a pending photo trip. Calumet pulled all the stops out to ensure I had the product as soon as humanly possible, followed this up with a personal phone call advising on delivery date. Fabulous service, thank you!”
