“After being accepted for a credit card, with a $30k limit, I used it to charge for about a month. No problems. Booked tickets and traveled to a foreign country. Again no problems... For a few days. Then it stopped working. No notice, just stopped. App and account just showed "restricted." Called to get the restriction lifted, thinking they'd flagged a foreign charge as fraud (with no way to tell them I'm traveling, they claim it's unnecessary), and they want: copies of passport, birth certificate, SSN card, utility bill, and more, all while I'm traveling. Non-negotiable; they cannot accept anything except all those documents. Capital One was perfectly happy to strand me in a foreign country with no credit card, despite having worked and processed charges for over a month, and several days of traveling. DO NOT USE.”

“ZERO STARS. My transfer balance took forever to get to Capital One from NFCU. 1week later called to confirm if they received it because it was cutting close to my minimum payment due date. Capital One blamed my NFCU account and said to check with them for the reason of not receiving it and was told it takes 2weeks. Sure, enough they received my transfer balance the next day, as I seen it on my app but it was still pending. I was told to still make a minimum payment, I did so & the app showed that I had a credit from my minimum payment/past payments. The transfer balance went through, and I decided to close my account since it had been taken care of. Rep on the phone said that she can issue me a check for the credit on my account & I received it. Perfect. All is well so I forgot all about the Capital One card. 2months later, I am hit with an INTEREST CHARGE & A PASS DUE FEE. Due to the fact that my minimum payment failed. Now I owe an extra $50 in fees plus my minimum again. Instead of the rep telling me that she can issue a refund credit check AFTER all payments went through which I thought was what happened, she failed to do so. Now I owe them once again and I talked to 3 reps at Capital One including a manager named Jenny. They would not write off the fees. THEY ARE A JOKE & A SCAM. WHY WOULD YOU ISSUE ME A REFUND IF I STILL OWED MONEY???”

“Capital One will literally destroy your life. THEY WONT WORK WITH YOU! I worked very hard to build my credit in preparation to buy a small house so my wife and could start a family. I took out a simple 3k limit credit card to build my credit even more when she was pregnant. I knew my credit would take a hit but dropped 60points for a 3k card i didnt even need!! They refuse to acknowledge this is a ridicules hard pull and are fully capable of fixing it (i confirmed). Now, my wife is 20 weeks, and im sgruggling to get a morgage cause of that pull. I went to them for help and after a bunch of calls they will refuse to even try. They ruined all i worked hard for.”
