I sold my car quickly and for the best price after providing the buyer with the CARFAX report. It made all the difference.

There are multiple car dealerships but using Carfax I was able to narrow down my search and come up with the car that was closer to my house. The car I found was a Ford flex with 51,000 miles it was easy to make a choice with the clean Carfax report that was given on the car. I’m the third owner of the car but the Carfax gives me all the past records the car was also brought in from a warmer climate so I knew that it did not have any rust from previous winters.

Have used CARFAX in many ways! We own an automotive business and add our customer's history to CARFAX. I have also used it in the past when looking to purchase used cars, as well as helping our customers while they were shopping for a used vehicle. The maintenance history and collision damage history is very valuable. I will continue to recommend and use CARFAX in the future.

I found a used car online. It was advertised as having a salvage title. When I asked the current owner why, he said "that's how he got the vehicle and didn't know". So I checked the CARFAX before I met up with him for a test drive. CARFAX knew! The vehicle was totaled before due to collision and completely rebuilt and inspected. I bought the vehicle because of the info that CARFAX had, and I'm loving my vehicle. I knew exactly what I was facing upon purchase thanks to CARFAX

Used it as a selling point when I sold my car! Then when I went to buy a vehicle I found out that the vehicle had been in 3 minor frint end collisions. Because if the carfax I knew to carefully look over the front end, and ended up buying the vehicle because it had been repaired right. It’s nice to have a carfax so you know where you need to pay special attention!

I was shopping for a used car for over a year. Found out Carfax has a used car search engine that allows you to get email updates for the exact make, model, year, mileage, color or whatever you want. Sure enough, received an email alert on a Friday night listing a the exact SUV I wanted. Called the dealer to check availability, and to by that following Monday, I purchased the car of my dreams! Thanks Carfax!

We were looking a good tow vehicle and didn’t have much time as our trip to Disney was coming up. We almost layed down the cash for 2009 Toyota Armada with 67500 miles. Private sellers were very nice and seemed trust worthy Thank goodness we decided to check Carfax immediately showed an alert that the mileage had been tampered with and it actually had 280,000 not 67,000. Saved us a lot of money. I will never buy a used vehicle without a Carfax.

We found a great deal on a 2008 Toyota Prius. The car was advertised on the Internet by a private seller. It had 110,000 miles (which isn't that much for a car of this quality) and was listed at $5,200, which is a very good deal for this car (the market value is around $7000-$7500). The seller was the second owner and had it for three years. She was getting rid of it it because she wanted to buy a truck. We test drove the car and it drove fine. There were a few oddities (i.e., the hybrid battery had been replaced, which normally isn't necessary for a car that young, and the license plate number indicated it was much newer than three years old, but these were worth overlooking, given the great price). The car came with a clean title and the owner told us it had never been in a major accident, so we made an offer. We negotiated the price down to $4700, which made for an even better deal! We gave her a check (just as a placeholder) and agreed to meet up the next day, upon which we would take back the check, give her cash, and drive away in our newly-purchased car. Normally, we'd take a used car to a mechanic and get it checked out, but we were sure the car would sell very quickly, even at the original listing price of $5200, so we wanted to grab it before someone else did. Even if it ended up having a few mechanical issues, it was worth the risk, as the repair costs probably wouldn't be more than a few hundred dollars. As soon as we left we realized we forgot to get the car's VIN. I messaged the seller to ask for it. She was out doing chores and couldn't get it to me right away. I bugged her again a few hours later, and then once again in the evening. She finally sent it. I looked it up in CarFax and, whoa!!! The car showed a last odometer reading of 330,000 miles! Thinking that must be a mistake, I purchased the full report and went through the service records. For each entry, the odometer reading gradually increased to 330,000 miles, at which point it went to auction. It had been purchased by a private buyer just a few weeks earlier. No, the seller had *not* had it for three years. This also explained the new license plate, and the high mileage explained the need to replace the battery. We immediately called the seller, who did not answer the phone, and left a voice message asking her to call us back. She never did, and we never met the next day to buy the car. Because of the CarFax report, we escaped getting ripped off by an unscrupulous seller who had rolled back the odometer and lied about the car. CarFax, thanks for helping us dodge a bullet!

I was looking at a 2008 Subaru Legacy with surprisingly low miles in my area. It had all the details I wanted in a car; a sunroof, heated leather seats, etc. along with a really great price. When I looked at the Car Fax listing on it’s page (not including the actual report) it had noted that it had over 38 “incidents”. This made me nervous because that can either be a really good thing, or a really bad thing. When I purchased the report, I found out that the vehicle was a corporate vehicle for most of it’s life, and a personally owned vehicle for 2 years. It was really well maintained since it was originally purchased. All but one of the incidents were thorough reports of service and maintenance. The car also experienced a very minor accident- just a little fender bender - and was fixed up immediately. This gave me the confidence to purchase my Subaru and it’s been an absolute dream! It’s the best car I’ve ever owned, and I drive it up the canyons from the Salt Lake valley to Park City every day! It’s gotten me through blizzard conditions with ease. I’m so happy with my experience! It saved me thousands of dollars I was going to spend on a newer, more “reliable” car. I’m grateful that I could get a thorough background on my beautiful Subaru.

I had a car that was bought back by the manufacturer, and then shipped out thru several auction houses. It had a safety defect (high beams would not work at below zero temps) and carfax was able to help me locate the last selling dealer, who thought the car was fine..Now, the new private owner can be made aware of the defect...perhaps preventing accident and injury...

I was almost ready to purchase a White 2011 Ford F-150 FX4 with an 5.0l V8 engine. Truck looked good in pictures and the discussions with the owner were generally good but I was slightly suspicious of a few comments. After ordering a CarFax, I found the truck was indeed a 2011 but originally it was red (now white), originally had an Eco-boost engine but now had a 5.0l V-8 and originally had just and XLT interior and trim package and now had an FX4 package. The CarFax also revealed the accident that the truck had been in 2 years ago with front end and roof damage. That explained at least most the changes. I passed on that truck. Thank you CarFax! Regards, Mark in Texas

I was looking for a nice low mileage Buick Reatta. I almost purchased one but decided to run a Carfax before purchase. Good idea! The mileage had been tampered with and the car was not the low mile cream puff the seller described. Eventually I found another low mile Reatta and after verifying the miles with the Carfax, I purchased it with confidence. Thank you Carfax!
