Purchased a 2014 Ram Power Wagon fully loaded as a demo with low miles. I would have been happy, considering I purchased a Carfax to provide reassurance of the trucks history, yet it was not an accurate and up to date report, even after my purchase of the truck. My disappointment is with Carfax and will be seeing if they honor their Buy back.

Using CARFAX, once again, for the purchase of a vehicle has proved to be very helpful. It found a mileage discrepancy, a title flaw, and a difference in the stated amount of previous owners. Some of this was even unbeknownst to the seller, who obvious didn't pull a CARFAX when he purchased the vehicle. I am sure that he will be a future CARFAX customer, as he was very impressed with the newly found information. In an effort to proceed with selling me the vehicle, he took a fair amount less than the originally agreed to sale price. So the CARFAX fee was well worth it! It saved me a considerable amount of money, while making me better informed. It also educated the seller, for the future, and, in the process, gained a potential new customer. I call that a win-win-win situation! Once again, great job CARFAX!

We were looking at a 2014 Honda Accord. According to the carfax, it was involved in an accident. Since the carfax mentioned it was a rear end collision and did not indicate airbag deployment (and further verifying the airbags did not deploy) and the manufacturer warranty remained intact, we felt it was a good vehicle. Turned out to be perfect.

I serve in the United States Military and recently I needed to purchase a used car for my daughter so that she could go to school and work. I realized that I would not be able to be there for every repair. I spoke with many second hand dealers and I kept hearing that this car I in good condition and a little old lady owned it prior. I said to my self wow!, must be a lot of old lady's driving to church only. I checked the car fax on these car's only to see the complete history accidents, repairs and how many owners. thank you car fax.

We were in need of a very good used automobile. Due to our age, and lack of income, we needed to find an affordable, comfortable, and extremely reliable automobile. After not purchasing an automobile for some time, we had no idea this was such a huge feat! We were looking at affordable cars and kept finding vehicles between 12k and no more than 18k with a lot of issues. Though that seems like a lot of money - you just cannot buy a "definately" decent used vehicle of any sort for that price. Of course you can buy a small new auto - not comfortable or highly rated in that price range, we wanted a heavier, safe/sound car. We found a 2012 Cadillac with "mid" mileage on it that was absolutely in the most perfect 'physical' condtion we had ever seen a car in. Of course, anyone would like to have the "cadillac ride" ... but finding this at a price we could afford made us wary of the automobile! Since our income is "fixed" and we are retired, and we have sufferd huge medical bills, and once even were "frauded" by someone which totally ruined our credit for a while, and did not have the funds or the 'know how' to resolve the problem, we just had to wait it out - the years of things being dropped off of our credit report. In the meantime, we drove old cars that just kept breaking down on us, which is so dangerous (and expensive) for older people. We were hesitant because it was at a small car lot that advertises they can finance almost anyone that we stopped by. We found this Cadillac there, and my husband really wanted it. He is a large man (tall) and with a bad back, he just cannot ride in little, uncomfortable cars. I was really afraid of the car. I decided to check CarFax and found that this vehicle was in such prime condition, I was shocked. It had been a corporate car and very well cared for! CarFax rated it top notich and even said it was worth "more" than book value! Of course we bought the car, and actually got decent financing through a credit union! We are very happy with the car! Thank you CarFax for helping us find the deal of our lifetime! Had we not had CarFax to let us know what a super deal that was, I would have not EVER bought the car! I recommend to ANY one buying an automobile to make that very small investment in CarFax ... it can save you thousands of dollars in the long run and give you so very much security on such a large purchase! An automobile is truly an investment in today's world. You'd never buy a home without some sort of history on it, nor should you buy an automobile without a history on it!

If is wasn't for CARFAX I feel I would have gotten a junker for a car. I looked a a lot of cars only (due to CARFAX) found out they had salvage titles. And found a Jeep Wrangler that (due to CARFAX) it had a "scrubbed title". Will all salvage titled cars out there you need all the buying tools you can get. CARFAX is my #1 tool. Don W,

I was looking at buying an older SUV, I had never used carfax and decided to give it a try. I found a fixer upper on craigslist that I would still be able to drive as I worked on it. I asked the owner some very specific and detailed questions about the smog and other safety features. I then ran carfax that night on the SUV. CARFAX came back and told me what month and year the SUV was smogged and that it failed it's last smog. When I confronted the guy and called hIm out on the lie he began to back track. After looking more at carfax on this vehicle I noticed even more lies. Due to carfax I was able to steer away from that SUV and I eventually found the old fixer upper I was looking for. I ran a carfax on my, now, truck before I bought it and it pointed some things (ie-5 digit milage ) that I didn't notice myself and got the price down. Thanks carfax.

On two occasions, the clean Carfax report on cars I was selling is what gave out-of-town buyers the confidence that enabled them to travel hundreds of miles to buy the cars. When selling cars on the web, nice photos and good descriptions are important, but a clean Carfax report inspires trust that they are getting a good vehicle.

I used the car fax to learn about the vehicles history on 2002 WRX I was going to buy. The previous owner wasn't sure of the vehicles history. I'm glad I learned the source of the damage that was on the vehicle and that the vehicle was well maintained in its early years with receiving regular service and oil changes.

After finally finding a very particular used SUV I wanted to buy from a private party, everything looked really good to purchase. Luckily I was able to get the VIN number for the vehicle right before making plans to meet, (a 100 mile round trip for me). I quickly decided to purchase a CarFax report to see what kind of service had been done but to my surprise I found the vehicle had been in 3 accidents and had 12 different owners, (it was only a 2003, that's almost 1 owner per year of it's life!!). The report changed my mind and I decided not to buy. This is not the only time CarFax has saved me a ton of money and a extremely big headache! This story might sound too good to be true but I assure you it isn't, I will never consider buying a used car without a CarFax report!!

I was skeptical to purchase a Honda Civic that had a salvage title even though that I had test driven and really liked the car. I purchased a CARFAX on the car and it confirmed the information on the damage to car given to me by the salesperson, and also provided me a value reduction estimate due to the damage. As a result I was able to buy a good quality car at a very fair price!

I went to the dealer to buy a used Toyota Sienna van. I asked the saleperson for a CarFax and they gave me another brand of car check. I decided to sleep on the purchase and the next day I bought a carfax for the Sienna. I was shocked to find out that it had an accident that was not listed on the generic report. Later an autobdy expert confirmed the damage. I decided to continue my search for a van elsewhere. Later that month, I bought a one owner car that was pristine. It had over 20 maintenance records listed on the carfax! Anyway, it is a small investment that will give us pre-owned car buyers piece of mind.

I have always used Carfax and recently used Carfax for my last purchase, an used and older minivan. I purchased a month's worth of Carfax reports (unlimited) and I looked at 28 different vehicles and used 28 Carfax reports. It is hard to just go based on the seller's word alone as all they want to do is sell the car and get money. You never know what you are getting yourself into especially if you live in a small town like me and have to drive to the nearest big city (2-4 hours away) to see a few vehicles. Best example was a very good looking 2007 Nissan Quest and a great condition 2007 Chrysler Town and Country. Both sellers said they were 2nd owners and the photos looked great. The Quest was 2 hours away and the Town and Country was 3 hours away. I planned a trip to see 13 different vehicles and these two sellers said they did not feel right giving me the VIN but that I could have the VIN when I got there. Lucky for me, I went over the photos and saw the license plates and pulled up the Carfax using the license plates which showed the owner of the Quest was the 5th owner and he had owned it for less than 4 months. The owner of the Town and Country was the 4th owner and owned it for less than 2 months. I immediately crossed these two off my list. By using Carfax, I was able to make better selections on which vehicles to actually go and see and which vehicles to avoid, thus saving me alot of time, energy, and potential headaches. I ended up buying a minivan I found and had pulled a Carfax showing it was a well kept, well maintained vehicle that looked as good on the outside as it did on the inside. Carfax is an invaluable tool and the little money you spend on a singular or unlimited reports is easily earned back on a great purchase. Definitely recommend Carfax to all potential buyers

1 car owner with service repair records helped me make a decision on a used 8 year old lexus. Everyone should require a carfax on every pre-owned or used vehicle. It's important to know the vehicle history.

Carfax saves lots of headaches when it comes to buying cars. It helps to make you aware of accidents and what repairs have been made to the car. It's also good that they list if it's been corporate or personally owned. Carfax is amazing source of information!!
