I was on my way to look at a car, and it was over an hour away from where I live. I pulled a carfax from my phone. The car had been in 2 wrecks according to carfax. Saved me a trip and regret.

Went to purchase a car that the owner said had 104,000 mile. Drove the car and everything seems to check out just fine. We worked out a price for the car. Just prior to signing we decided to run a Car Fax report and discovered that the car was last sold 15 months before with 194,500 mile. The car was sold a prior time to that with 165,000 miles. So the car really had many more miles on it than stated by the current owner. When we presented the Car Fax to the owner they said that there must have been a mistake. We walked away.

I was glad car fox has a list of items to check before buying. It ensures you don't forget the not so obvious things to check in the heat of the moment. I traveled 3 hours away to purchase so I asked questions up front which led to finding out the radio didn't work and she adjusted the price accordingly. I also reminded her to bring the title. She didn't have it but she did get the proper forms from DMV filled out and signed prior to me traveling there.

I found a used SUV in the paper and called the guy to get some more information on it. He told me that it was in perfect condition and had never been wrecked. There was no vin # in the paper, but it had a picture of the license plate. So, I decided to run the plate on car fax and I am so glad that I did! I found out that the vehicle had been totaled in Arkansas a few months earlier. Thanks Car Fax!! Chuck-Texas

My son bought a nice 2010 Camry from a mechanic. When he got the Title, it listed the car as Flood Damaged. I got the Car Fax for my son and saw that the Flood Damage Title was given to the First Buyer from the original Dealer. There was no further indication of any problems in the remaining Car Fax maintenance reports. I had my son tell the mechanic and call the dealer. My son got no joy from talking to the dealer - no floods were recorded so, we could only speculate vis a vis open windows or some other such nonsense. However, because of the Car Fax and because the mechanic is reputable, my son was offered his money back or to return the car and get the next best Camry the mechanic bought at auction or the mechanic would refund his profit of about $500.00 to my son if my son wanted to keep the car; plus the mechanic would keep in mind any repairs needed if the "flood damage" issue ever came up. My son elected to keep the car. Thank you Car Fax

I had been looking for a used car for a while. I thought I had found one, but something just kept telling me no. I called the individual up and asked for the VIN number so I could do a car fax report. I had been putting it off, telling myself it was too expensive. When I got the VIN number, I immediately ran a car fax report, andit showed that the vehicle had been wrecked and totaled. It showed that the vehicle had been rebuilt and was had a junk title. I am so thankful I ran that car fax report. A couple of days later I did find a car. Thanks car fax!

I was about to buy a car and The guy the was selling it had sold us another vehicle and it is really awesome which build some sort of trust based relationship with this guy. I called him when I was looking for a car and he told he has this 2007 Camry that's clean title.the carfox told me that there was a minor damage in this t which I didn't mind. I loved it and the price was reasobnable. We setup a date to go to the SOS and finish the paper work. I called the insurance company 10 minutes before before the appointment and they were asking for the Vin number I didn't have with me at the moment so I went into carfox to get it. Furtenately I opened the carfox report and I found that he changed the title into salvage just after we agreed on everything. I swear to god that I was 10 minutes close to waste my Money on that car so thank you very much carfox. It was the best $50 I ever spent.

After I had an engine failure in my first Mitsubishi 3000GT base model, I searched for a newer model VR4. After finding one I really like, I got a carfax on it, and found it had all dealership maintenance performed on it its entire life. Very satisfied!

I have been really perplexed while trying to find the right used car for the past two months. I did not trust or know CarFax that well initially and figured it was just good as any other car report Co out there. I was relying on a 1-2 $ car report previously while trying to buy this Kia spectra and while it showed everything fine, it did not report the problems in detail. The Owner mentioned there was a minor accident where the bumper was damaged and they got it fixed. A friend of mine who lives in my apartment complex was also selling his car and happened to show me his carFax report which seemed a whole lot more impressive. So I decided to give it a try and I was quite amazed by what CarFax showed up: it went in to detail of the accident and explained the police case and also that the Collision was head on and that there was more than mere Bumper damage. The owner was good enough to return my money after I informed him about the carfax report. A few weeks later I Got a Tucson but this time completely based off a CarFax lookup. I could literally close my eyes and confidently buy the car. It showed me the number of owners, the Title status, the maintenance records and each time the vehicle was registered or had a title change or inspection which was pretty impressive. Also what I liked about Carfax was the way they have separated the different areas like Title Information, Maintenance Records etc which are easy to navigate without having to scroll a lot. Well I must say.. Thank you CarFax for helping me buy a reliable used car with peace of mind.

I was one step from purchasing a used 03 mitsubishi eclipse spyder. When on the test drive i experienced a collison to the rear bumper. At the time the car bumper was being repaired. I ran a carfax on the car and came across info that the car had been dem a total loss by insurance company. The car was branded a salvage title, howeva on the dealership website it never mentioned a salvage title. I discussed the issue with the dealer and he denied the salvage title. He also presented to me the original title but that is a clear example of title washing. Thanks carfax you save me a headache and my hard earn money.

A few weeks ago I had decided to buy a 2010 Audi TT. I was determined to have this car and had them ship it from a dealership in Texas to one in Colorado. While the vehicle was enroute to Colorado I decided to order a CARFAX report and am so glad I did. The report was very detailed and identified the vehicle as having a possible odometer rollback which explained the unusually low mileage. This was documented through service records where the mileage was captured over time. Needless to say I decided against purchasing the vehicle. That would have been a $35,000 mistake. Lesson learned, I will never buy a vehicle without first running a CARFAX report! Thank you CARFAX! Erik R.
