“Have purchased three cars from private parties!!! Would NEVER buy a car without checking carfax! Have tried another vehicle history report site and did not get the information needed to make an informed decision!!! Love CARFAX~”

“I purchased a 30 day, unlimited CarFax Reports account prior to buying my used car. I re-upped the unlimited CarFax reports twice more because my used car search took more than a month. The Carfaxes are invaluable resources as a starting point in your used car search. The reports saved me countless hours by helping me to weed out a lot of vehicles I might have gone to see based solely on their online ad descriptions and photos. CarFax helped me to identify several cars that were really salvage titled vehicles, even though they had been listed as clean title, as well as spotting more than a few vehicles with odometer rollbacks. Perhaps the most helpful feature CarFax provides a private party buyer is the ability to recognize when cars are being sold by curbstoners or car flippers based upon when the title was last transferred and how soon the current owner puts a vehicle up for sale following that transaction. In addition to helping a buyer avoid negative vehicle purchase experiences, CarFax also provides value in displaying a brief summary of a car's service records, and any damage that a used vehicle might have sustained in the past. This provides the buyer with a level of confidence when meeting with the seller and being able to verify regular maintenance while at the same time ensuring that any previous damage was repaired correctly.”

“I used carfax to buy my 2000 Ford Mustang GT I used to get the seller to drop his price due to the accident that was reported on the carfax report it was great the seller called the previous owner and found out exactly what damage occurred to the car. And I was able to verify the low mileage and that the car only had two owners. I was very happy with this service.”

“I wanted to buy a 2011 Sonata which cost me around $12,000. The car was in perfect condition and only 20,000 miles done. I was about to pay cash and just wanted to check the carfax. Finally found out that was a totalled car. OMG, that really helped me to figure out this car was wrecked atleast with a minor damage. So i didnt purchase that car. It was realy helpful using Carfax.”

“I bought a beautiful Lexus about a year ago that was 100% Carfax clean. I put the car up for sale just recently and the new carfax showed structural damage and had been in an accident a year ago. Carfax took over a year to enter this information. Now I am stuck with a beautiful car that is showing structural damage. I took the car to a very good body shop that took it apart and said there was no damage. I always relied on Carfax in the past but never again.”

“efore getting a CARFAX Report we had almost made up our mind on a Toyota Camry, but it turned out to be reported as a total loss, a fact the owner conveniently didn’t tell us. We did not end up purchasing that vehicle, and instead went to look at two almost identical Honda Accords”

“I found a beautiful convertible car, 14 years old, one owner and super low miles (hard to believe), but Carfax noticed that everything was good for 12 years, but not service or records for the last two years, so it was suggested by Carfax to inquire with the owner before buying. Lucky me, the owner provided records and receipts from a small car shop. Everything matched and I have been enjoying my car worried free.”
