I would never recommend car fax. I paid online to check a report and it never would let me get the report and still took money out of my account. Also, it shows my car is totaled when it has never been and I have a letter showing it never has from insurance company and y'all won't remove it. Advertising False information.

In 2006, I bought a 2003 Ford Mustang. It was in a major accident in 2007. The car was valued at $11,000.00, at the time, and there was over $8000.00 damage. I tried to get the insurance company to total it, but they wouldn't. I sold what was left of it to a guy who put it back together. Guess what! The accident didn't show up on CARFAX at all. THANKS CARFAX. I bought a 2001 Ford Mustang in 2007. I paid for a CARFAX report to ensure it was not in an accident. I sold the car recently and the buyer did another CARFAX. It showed that it was in an accident in 2005 and had to be towed. It was posted in 2008. THANKS AGAIN CARFAX....

I was looking at a late model car with very high mileage and wanted to make sure of it's history. The car checked out and I made the purchase with the satisfactory confirmation of history from CARFAX. I like my "new" car. Thanks CARFAX!!!!

Been looking for car for over a month. Every time I see the car I want and go look it over, after I speak to the honest owners, I found some lies under and around the car's ..Waste of time !. Thats when I saw your add on TV...Hummmm. I spend a lot more in driving long distance only to find its not what was advertized . So for the price of carFax not only did I see what was left out of the Honest owner add. I saw How meny owners and where the car was and any major repaires and recalls. Now that is well worth my time and money. Dont leave home without it. Ray

I was ready to buy a used truck when my uncle told me Wait.. before you do get me the vin & I'll run it in carfax to see if anything comes up. Turns out it had been in two seperate accidents the second it was totaled by the insurance co. It also showed it failing an inspection 3 times in the last 2 months. If it were not for him knowing to run it I would have been in the hole for $9000 Thanks Carfax! DH Cato, NY

Was looking at a 350z and ran a car check with another company and they said no accidents reported. Ran a carfax and you reported an accident and said it was a rear end accident. questioned owner and he told us about the accident and we confirmed what he told us with a close visual inspection. He also reduced the price $750. Thank You car fax.

my car fax report prevented me from buying a lemon. and also made us feel much better about the van we did decide to purchase. On our very tight budget we could not afford to make a mistake.

The report doesn't show that it has 64,000 miles on it? I already had this report with the dealer and decided to pay for one with you to have a more up to date report and even e-mailed carfax and received no response. Thanks for wasting my money!!!

Car fax has been instrumental in my car search always. I was looking for a good used car and it helped me a lot in finding my VW Jetta. The reports are genuine and accurate. This is one of the best companies you can trust for Car history. Love the way it shows the history with dates and by owners. Also, like the feature of buy back guarantee a lot. It shows you everything related to the car including title information, warantee validity and accidental histories along with the incremental odometer readings with that you can actually check that the reading is actual and modified. Awesome job !!

Thanks Carfax : I was looking to buy a 2002 mustang GT from a guy off the internet, after running a carfax I found that the guy selling it owed money on it, but was listed as having a clean title. and also I caught him several more lies. If it wasn't for carfax I probably would bought the car. Tim

You must give information about car accidents. Dealers use no information about car accidents other then it happened to pay nothing for a trade in. Your company is unfair and a joke. I have written to my elected state and federal policy makers to stop your incomplete and misleading information. If you state that a car was in an accident your must provide information about what that accident was about, and not let dealers decrease the value of a car without the complete information. You must not be allowed to to be a spokesmen for dealers to decrease the car value without any information.

I purchased a preowned BMW M5 earlier this year, which apparently had some bodywork done to it due to previous minor body damage. I pulled both, carfax & autocheck reports but none of them had any incident reported. Regardless of the history reports, I did buy the vehicle & found out the fact that only if an incident is reported to police, insurance, agency or dmv, it will show on the history reports. Otherwise there's no guarantee that what you're getting has 100% history events reported.

Careat Emptor or Buyer Beware. No where is this more true than when buying a used car. Many used car dealers advertise posing as private sellers. Car Fax exposed them. Many lie about condition and many lie about mileage. Car Fax exposes the mileage and will report any history of damage. Car Fax is an invaluable tool in separating the facts about the vehicle from the fantasies of some sellers. It is a huge red flag when people will not share the VIN. !00% of the time, the seller is then trying to hide something. Protect your money when buying any used car. Use CAR FAX! Ask questions of the seller and then check their response against the facts as reported by car fax. Any lies is a deal buster. Request photos of the instrument cluster with the engine running to check for idiot lights.
