“The unit was defective. Some pieces were not detected on the board. My husband worked through the troubleshooting tips on your site, but it remained defective. I am sending it back. I am surprised it arrived packaged with zero padding, and I wonder if it was knocked around during transport.”

“Not satisfied with the lack of attention, effort to address lighting which can assist those with color blindness. With the majority of my family being inflicted with this, as it currently stands, the LED configuration, is completely useless. If Hudson Soft figured it out by 2007, so can you.”

“Wow, wow, wow!!! Everything about my ChessUp experience was fantastic! Fast, secure shipping (unlike another major electric chess set manufacturer), a solid chess set that operates as advertised, is very easy to use, and is a fantastic learning tool! I have played about 20 games on the board so far (I have had it for about two weeks, but it has been the holidays so I have not played as much as I would have liked) and I love it. I am very, very satisfied and I hope that ChessUp continues to innovate and develop new products. So far, they have gained a lifelong customer.”

“I bought this as a Christmas present for my BIL. He has told me multiple times since Christmas how much he enjoys the gift. I got a chance to play with him yesterday with it and agree with him. Quality piece of equipment and not cheaply made. The design is very nicely put together. The interactions and feedback is quick and accurate. My BIL stated that the online forums for this product are very active and the owners/builders of the game are very much involved in feedback and updates.”

“I really Like the Idea but its still really Buggy. I used mainly to play lichess otb, but more often then not my moves dont get transmitted to lichess. The chessup app shows my moves, but lichess doesnt seem to get it. If that will ne fixxed, it's an easy 5 Out of 5”

“I really like this chessboard, but sometimes I come across minor problems. Most of these issues concern the app (I am using the android version 1.1.9): The biggest issue is when I am playing online against others via Lichess. Only about one in three games is working properly. The problem here is mostly at the beginning of a game. Even though the board is seemingly connected, it does not detect the moves I make. It looks like the board is thinking I want to play someone directly on the board sitting in front of me, even though an online game started. But I have to mention that, if the board is connected to the game once, it does not lose the connection during the whole game. That is one positive thing I have to point out. I haven't really found a solution for this problem yet, but when it occurs, I first try to close and reopen the app. This helps from time to time, but if it still doesn't work, I turn off the board, put away all of the pieces, turn it on and put all of the pieces on the board again. In most cases, it is going to work after a few attempts, but I am sure you understand all of this can be very frustrating and one has to be very patient if one wants to play online. I also see some problems with the general design of the app, but I know that it is still in development, so I am not going to discuss this any further. All in all, I can see the great potential of this product, but it needs much more time to improve. I think that the board itself is pretty nice and I believe that the app can become good as well.”

“I’m really enjoying it! The feeling of the pieces, just a little touch and the board responses at the moment. You guys made a really good work. The playability, the different modes and levels of help, it’s super nice for learning and thinking about your next move, and just touch the piece and see if you were right! I’m just amazed. “After several weeks of waiting, I was finally able to get my hands on this fabulous chess set. I am pleasantly surprised by the size of the game, which offers greater playing comfort. The manufacturing quality is impeccable, all the electronic part of the game works perfectly well, and the AI shows good responsiveness as well as a good level of adversity. The educational approach of the game allows you to progress while remaining fun. This chess set is a great success, it remains today most certainly one of the best, if not the best chess set currently available on the world market, I am very satisfied with my purchase, and I hope that the game will last me forever. Congratulations to the Bryght Labs team, for your great work on this chess game.”

“The chess set isn't working properly. We were told to try to fix it ourselves which doesn't seem appropriate given the cost of the product. Now we need to determine how to send it in to be repaired or ideally, replaced.”
