This board works, but is not currently working at the level Bryght Labs has sold it as. I do think that with time it can be done but it is not currently there for all platforms. Waiting for Android support for all online chess platforms, chess learning courses, and checkers game support,

The board is great! It is responsive, easy to set up and intuitive to use. The pieces are of high quality, and I like the fact an extra queen is provided. The board senses moves impeccably and stand-alone, enough variety is offered with the onboard difficulty levels. The app (I have the iOS version), although showing great potential and already improving quite a bit since my time of ownership (autumn 2022) did crash on me a couple of times. The lichess integration seems to work fine, chess.com integration would make it 5 stars. I hope the company persists its rhythm of pushing out updates and improving functionality

Overall I love my ChessUp board. I would like to give it 5 stars, but the functionality of the Android app is lacking and somewhat buggy. Bryght Labs needs to focus on the apps now that the product has launched and supply chains are improving.

The Chessup product I purchased from Bryght Labs has a great idea to learn to play chess. My only problem is trying to understand exactly how the board works. Since there is no instruction manual, I have tried to learn what I could from he internet. Unfortunately, I could not find out how the the lights on the board work. Hopefully, I will be able to figure it out.

so far we're still learning.... for example, i was using the board with the AI for the first few days. then the board wasn't responding properly. with some online help i tried re-calibrating it, but left the pieces on the board, then realized i had to take them off. then it worked. it would be nice if the board suggested my next move, rather than having to touch all of the pieces, but i realize that's part of the learning experience, but for true novices like myself, it would be nice to have that option. i am still learning and have taken most of the beginner lessons on the app, which are quite helpful

I really like ChessUp for providing the ability for my kids to play chess against the AI without using an iPad. The assistant also makes it more fun for less serious players. The only downside is that you can't set up scenarios without using a phone/tablet. This is one nice feature of the Centaur that I would like to see in ChessUp.

I really love your product, qnd I'm extremely happy with it. However, I've noticed some problems. It is always a challenge to try and connect to an online game and it often results in it being aborted after a couple of seconds, which ultimately results in a ban. I never got to play a game with black on lichess as the moves just stop syncing to the app, this can happen randomely because of internet problems and it can becomeextremely irritatingto have to finish the game from the lichess site. Additionally, when making an invalid move in any sort of game it just bugs out and the board doesn't know how to fix itself. And the app is general is not a good experience, it can be tricky to navigate, and i think there should be more feedback to the user when he is connecting to game. These are most of the issues I've found so far so I hope you can resolve them. Again, I'm really in love with your product and I really hope your company does well.

Great product! I'm hoping there will be some new features within the app soon (lichess challenge friends, save analysis etc). Also hoping it will eventually be possible to integrate other engines to review the moves :O All in all I'm very happy about what's already available and enthusiastic for the future!

Very good chess board for learning and improving Anytime you touch a piece the program shows you all possible GOOD and BAD MOVES but lets you DECIDE which move to play. Connect the board to STOCKFISH and you feel the power of the board The standalone mode engine is very weak and the advice given also can be dubious (I always beat the engine in this mode). The board does not recognize the piece but instead keeps track of the piece's occupancy and in the middle of a game when the board loses its tracking you have to reset a new game. The problems mentioned can be solved in the program

The chess board is really fun to use and helps my relatives that don't know a lot about chess to play a little better than they would normally. It is a great tool to learn and become better. I have found the odd bug here and there when moving your chess pieces. But all in all, I am very satisfied with the product.

I had my ChessUp board for about two weeks now and I’m finally getting the hang of it. I enjoy playing online with LiChess and hopefully they’ll get ChessUp going.

Very nice Chess Board what defnetly makes very good impressions to other people. It still has some issues with the app but it's still at the beginning so they hopefully work on these.

Dear BryghtLabs, thank you so much for having delivered my ChessUp board before the Holidays. It's been a long time coming as delivery was first expected in July, but you did a fantastic job with the hardware. The board itself is amazing and works very well once you learn how to use it. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about the ChessUp app. There's an unprofessional feel to it, and many features don't work such as "sign up by email" (I had to use Google authentication) and it seems that it's not possible to play games online on a ChessUp server. The "learning" section also needs a lot of work: for now only a few basic courses are offered. At first even "play against AI" would freeze on certain openings, such as with the AI playing White: 1. d4 c6 [freeze]. This last point seems to have been fixed lately. So while I'm enjoying the ChessUp board very much (using it standalone without the app for now), I strongly encourage you to invest in the human resources your team needs for app development.

Let me start by saying that I really, really like the board. But the Android app is in rough shape. If you could fix the Android app, I'd give this product 5 stars

My kids and I love the Chess Up board. It helps them learn where they can move and even helped my daughter to beat me, a feat which has been previously unheard of

The board and the pieces work amazingly. You barely touch a piece and the board will light up. The pieces are made with high quality. You can play without an app but if you want to take advantage of the full ai and assistance you'll need the app. The app is the only downfall of everything. Still needs a lot of work and chess.com integration, which they are working on. With more people buying the board, I have no doubt that they will fix the app and make it more user friendly.

I brought this at the company party and it was a blast! We tried all kinds of wacky combinations of AI and human levels. At some point, both sides were just executing moves for the AI level 1 and having fun at its blunders. On the technical side, a couple of times the board got in a strange state with several purple squares (it might have been our fault). It went away when we reset the pieces to the starting position.

Hi, Fantastic product! These are some things I would like to utilize: 1: An option to not use lights while i'm playing (against another person on OTB, so its still recording my game to analyse afterwards but not have the board light up as it can accidentally give away a plan for a fork or skewer against my opponent. 2: A way to save the game so that we can come back to the game later to complete. 3: Add mutilple profiles so that I could add my son and other mates as a profile for OTB games. 4: I havent been successful at playing any other Chess up opponents online yet, have only been able to play other lichess players. 5: the board doesn't recognise my win after other lichess players bail on a game. 6: Hint limit isn't an option for OTB opponent. 7: an option to play back from a blunder but continue to record the next version of game. Thanks, that is all for now. It's an absolutely brilliant product!
