About Chilton Furniture:

Chilton is a family-owned, Maine company dedicated to selling fine, wood furniture, all American-made. We are known for our Shaker-inspired designs, and also feature Arts & Crafts, modern and cottage style pieces in solid cherry, maple, ash, walnut, and quarter-sawn oak. We are also known for the quality craftsmanship of our custom work. Many of our pieces can be custom built to your specifications.

Much of our furniture is handcrafted in small Maine workshops, and we also work with boutique craftsmen in New Hampshire, Vermont and the Midwest, many of whom have been partners for decades. All of these cabinetmakers have a Shaker-like dedication to workmanship, function, and simplicity of line and form. All of Chilton’s pieces are built to our high standards, and a growing number are original, proprietary designs.

“I bought a beautiful bed and needed it delivered 3.5 hours north of Portland. I thought it might not be possible but to my surprise not only did they find the camp in the middle of nowhere but were early on the day of delivery. Rock stars all of you!”

“Chilton was wonderful to work with! Always friendly and helpful, including sending pictures of the bed frames we were interested in. “Our new bedroom furniture arrived this past Tuesday from Chilton Furniture in Freeport, ME. We purchased the Bangor Light Cherry - King bed, two 3-drawer nightstands, a dresser with wall mirror, a chest of drawers and a stand up mirror. We absolutely love it!!!!! The craftsmanship is extraordinary, and the light cherry wood fits perfectly in our master bedroom that overlooks 350 ft of shoreline. I researched furniture companies for over a year and could find no company that hand-crafted such a style as I wanted. It was also within our budget. Waiting 3 months was nothing, because anything of substance and beauty is worth waiting for!!!! Thank you to the sales people and the delivery people who arrived on time and set up our bedroom perfectly!”

“I purchased a wonderful bed from Chilton two years ago and recently had a recliner couch, mission chair, ottoman, rocker, and sideleaf table delivered. Everything I have purchased is high quality with great craftsmanship. Delivery is on-time and if there is any furniture set-up, Chilton does it professionally and cheerfully. Best furniture I have ever purchased in my life and that includes wonder furniture I bought when I lived in Japan and Germany.”

“They arrived early and were very courteous. There was an episode during the delivery that reminded me a little of a scene in young Frankenstein where Igor and Dr. Frankenstein are digging up a body in the cemetery and Dr. Frankenstein complains what a disgusting, filthy job this is and Igor says, could be worse, could be raining. Just as he says it, it starts to rain. When crew arrived and started to unload the furniture I commented how ugly the weather looked. They commented, at least it’s not raining. Just as they said it, it stared to pour. Needless to say we are very happy with our furniture and look forward to doing business with you again. Thanks,”
