“Six of us went along on Sunday morning to a big shed in the middle of nowhere, we were made very welcome and watched a informative video explaining everything to us before we began our escape.
The clues were extremely clever and kept us all on our toes trying to beat the clock, we managed to escape in good time, but that was only because we had three really good code breakers on our team.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants an hour of fun and something a bit different.
We are looking forward to going back and playing the other Clue HQ”

“Fun and something different
We did this with our two sons and I only booked it while browsing the roperunners website but we loved it. Just the 4 of us solving puzzles and having never done anything like this before we were soon totally engrossed in the game and our games adviser was excellent, helping us with little visual clues when we needed it. Thoroughly recommended.”

“Me and a group of six travelled here from London it was all of our first ever escape room and wow it was so much fun. Your adrenaline kicks in before you even arrive because you have to drive down a quiet road in the forest to get there( it was quite scary actually lol) So we were already all getting nervous /excited.. Once we arrived we had some mind puzzling games to play while they were setting up the room to get my minds working. None of us knew what to expect but it was amazing so much fun. it's not scary some people thought it was ganna be scary. Will definitely be coming again for the detonation game as we done bunker and apparently bunker if the 1St game then you progress onto detonation.

Hi Dchell - hopefully you found the photo on the facebook page - I just uploaded it last night. Natalie hosted you and I will pass on to her. It would be a good location for something scary but ours our both family friendly with just time jeopardy. Our friends at Last Survivors operate a game in the bunker itself where you are chased by zombies if you fancy a scare.
There are some great games in London and there are a couple of review sites you can check out but come join us for Detonation first though.

“Really this adventure is a brilliant option for a birthday, team building experience or just something to do on a quiet weekend. Anyone over the age of 10 would be thrilled by the buzz of trying to escape. It makes you think and brings out the survival instincts. Would love to do it again.”

“My teenage son and three friends played during the April school holidays. They really enjoyed it - they said it was a great challenge and that they would definitely do it again.
It is in a great location - tucked away but easy to find. My friend and I enjoyed a nice walk and coffee in the bunker whilst they were playing.

Glad the kids had fun - we have some plans afoot for a new game for the Summer holidays so have to get my thinking hat on and try and carve out some time to get it up and tested. Maybe bring a group of Mums to play - we have had plenty of those as we can adapt the game to suit the audience and skill level. Are you smarter than your teenagers? :)

“My friend and I and our two boys aged 13 and 14 played Bunker 38 during the February half term. We had never done anything like this before so didn't know what to expect. It was brilliant fun and we all enjoyed it so much that we came back during the Easter break to play Detonation. I would definitely recommend Clue HQ, it really gets you thinking and working as a team. We're now waiting for the next room to be completed then we can give that a go!”
Hi Beverley - thanks for bringing the boys and glad you had a good time both times. There are a couple of rooms in Southend which are just opening which may whet your appetite till I can get my other one up and running. I hope to get out to try them soon.

“Took my teenage son and my daughter, and her partner in their early 20s. They loved it, it was perfect for the age group. Complicated varied puzzles to solve, a lot of thought and effort obviously goes into the planning. The host really made a difference with giving us just as much by way of help to stop us messing up completely but not so much that it was easy. And he made us laugh. Would definitely go again.”

“We went as a mixed group of 3adults and 3teens. We all enjoyed the game very much. We were all kept busy solving clues, finding keys and codes and the hour flew by. We escaped by the skin of teeth (albeit with a bit of aid from our viewing hosts!) well run, nice atmospheric location, fun game with a believable theme... 5* from us! “I've completed 5 different escape rooms, including a couple of fairly expensive London based ones. Clue HQ is definitely the best I've done. It may not have the big money set or effects of the London ones, but the way it is set up and thought out was easily the most fun and puzzling. There was plenty for all 6 of us involved to be getting on with and we all had input. Both rooms are very clever and the hour is a tough ask (well they were for my group!)”
Hi Daniel - high praise indeed and very much appreciated. As you say we don't have the big money and I run the venture part time but try and make up for it in gameplay and fun. We are adding a few new features to Detonation in April. You will be able to use that coupon code on our new game which we hope to have in place for the Summer holidays. I need to carve out some time to get it all up and running and tested before then.

“Ok so when you arrive at the site you feel you are in the middle of the Blair Witch Project. It's a small hut in the woods. Looking at the size of it I began to think I'd made a mistake but the place is like the Tardis.
I'm not going to give anything away about the room except to say expect the unexpected.
Can't wait to go back for their second escape room. Best day out I've had for ages.”

“Excellent family fun, suitable for all ages, great for a rainy day. It was so different from anything we had done as a family before, brilliantly clever and unusually everyone loved it. Our party was aged between 14 - 55, we played both rooms, one group escaped and the other failed. We will definitely be back again and cannot recommend more highly.”

“The couple that run the escape room are very welcoming and communicated the rules in a friendly manner. This has been by far been the better of the escape rooms that we have done. The whole atmosphere in the room along with the help system really helped to build tension and the escape room itself was tough with plenty of puzzles! We look forward to going back for detonation.”

“Loads of fun, lots of interesting puzzles and a great way to spend an hour with friends or family. We found Detonation, the bomb one is much harder than the other (Bunker 38) so if you're new you might want to do that one first. All in all an excellent experience and highly recommended.”
Hi Sam - it is a bit more of a challenge in detonation specially with smaller teams. I am implementing a new change this month to help out there a bit and a few other features. Our next room we hope to have open by Summer holidays - I just need to carve out the time to get it done. Watch out for further news.
