“I own several cameras and have the Cobalt Base Packs for a few of them. Using the Base Packs gives me access to the Color Profiles (film emulations, CCD fever, etc) and they all look very nice. Extremely recommended, especially if you can find a discount coupon.”
“Cobalt Imaging could be a game changer especially if you are a professional using different brand cameras. The low contrast linear options are a game changer for editing high dynamic range files in raw. The expense can mount up if you are using several different bodies and that would an assessment you would have to make in advance. The film and digital profile emulations are much better than you find elsewhere in my opinion and err towards accuracy rather than spectacular. Overall I'd recommend the system to anyone willing to stand the initial cost associated with the base packs.”

“The technology is, as far as can be determined, impressive. Technically the software seems designed to be used without great complexity. What's desperately lacking is the necessary formal protocols to follow in the practical application of the functionality in each of the working environments: Adobe, Capture One, etc. Or exactly how many of the "base" packs are needed for application across a wide array of camera models generating files in a user's catalog... one for each model of a camera regardless of replication of API data across a Developer's (e.g., Sony, Canon...) or are there singularities that coincide with or replicate other models. It's onerous financially to shell out a fee for each iteration of a camera model family, e.g. Sony a7R, Mk2, Mk3, mk4, mk4a, a7c, a7cr, a7c2, etc. Very poor marks for documentation and clarity of tutorial materials. This is not only poor CRM, but poor marketing.”
“My stock Fujifilm profiles are pretty close to what Cobalt offers. They are not a 1:1 match, but very close. I would be completely happy if this was my only goal when purchasing these profiles.
The absolute biggest benefit, however, and the reason I purchased the base pack for all my cameras, is that for once I can get consistent colors across all my cameras.
I frequently use both my Ricoh GR and my Fujis during trips and events. When I select the same Cobalt profile for both cameras, the end result is as close to identical as you can get! This makes it a breeze to apply your own presets on top of the files and achieve a consistent look.
As a bonus, the Cobalt base profiles offer a superb starting point if you enjoy building presets from the ground up. By using the flatter, low-contrast profiles as a base, you have endless flexibility for your editing, while keeping the look synced between camera systems. Very happy with the solution Cobalt offers - 5/5.”
“I was a bit anxious when buying the Ricoh profile pack due to the high-price and lack of reviews online, but I have to say I'm extremelly impressed and don't regret it for a second. I think it's definitely worth the money if you want to have the Ricoh colors using a different camera system, I've tried different options in the past but this is the first that I've found trully convincing.”

“The Fuji color space emulations gave me a fantastic starting point for creating custom color presets for my Sony digital camera, which I had never really been completely happy with previously. Great product, I feel like I'm getting the best of both worlds now.”
“I am loving the digital emulations... they are very subtle which is what I was looking for. Most prests are drastic or over the top. These profile look realistic and subtle at least for the digital emulations. I really don't want to emulate film as much but want a little character to my images. Cobalt has great customer service as well.”
“Using Cobalt's products have freed me from the "need" to upgrade my photography gear every time I want a different look. For example I have always loved Fuji's jpeg engine but I prefer Olympus for their smaller camera sizes and weather resistance. Now I can have both! Shooting with my Olympus OM1 II I can have Fuji's modern colors or their slide film look. I have also purchased the CCD pack so I can get the Lecia M9 and older Fuji medium format looks. I also shoot RAW on my iPhone and have the base pack for that - Fuji colors on the iPhone! Best camera money I've spent and will save me $1000's on gear.”
We provided the correct support and resolved the issue caused by the customer mistakenly purchasing the A7r2 package for use with A7r3A files. After we swapped the packages for free, the customer stopped responding to our emails and did not update or remove his review, despite the resolution of his problem.
