“Was ill twice from their cod mornay - the first time I wasn’t 100pc sure it was down to their food, but the second time, a month later, it definitely was as it was the same symptoms. Wrote to them. Heard back from their HO with a patronising answer that it wasn’t their food and was I aware I could have been ill from lots of things, but not their food. I question the integrity of their food protocol and safety.”
“Chicken, ham and leek pie for one very disappointing. There was just a few pieces of chicken and ham swimming in gravy. Generally noticed a deterioration in all meals ordered recently”
“Recently the chicken in several
Dishes has been like rubber. Impossible to break up and spoils each dish- curries, ginger chicken etc. Have shopped Cook for years and am so disappointed at the change in quality”
“We used to be regular customers of Cook meals but the price has escalated and the quality has diminished. The meat in many dishes has now become almost extinct and with prices around the £11 mark it has become very expensive
After many years we will be moving on
We do not recommend”
“Bought Meat balls in rustic sauce. Don't know what you mean by rustic, it was just a thick tomato sauce hiding the fact that there're only 4 meat balls in the container for £6.25. Daylight robbery. I have been a customer of ours through our local Cp-Op but will not be. buying again. Your price increases are eye . watering and the quality is fast disappearing”
“Very low meat content for a premium pie at only 15% compared with 30% in most premium pie (Charlie Bingham, Waitrose etc) and the gravy was overwhelmingly oniony. Wouldn't buy again.”
“I bought Beef Madras and although I know it's never going to taste the same as a true Indian madras, this was revolting!!
No spice or curry flavour whatsoever, all in could taste was tomatoes!! Do not buy this dish...yuk!!!”
“Very disappointed with the steak and ale pie. Pastry was not at all nice and far too thick, also very difficult to get pie out of it's container. Overall, would not buy again, I noticed this was a new recipe.”

“Cook meals were tasty ,varied and convenient as I had just finished surgery. We had 4 different meals. I found them a bit too salty and would urge you to reduce unhealthy levels of salt in otherwise excellent dishes.”
“I decided not to buy from CFook over 2 years ago after deciding their food had really declined in tase, quality and amount of 'fill in' over meat quantity. My husband came home with a large fish pie 2 days ago and it was absolutely disgusting. It tasted processed, w thought the was was made from dry potato and there was very little fish but a lot of sauce. It cost over £40 so my 20 year old daughter decided to try to salvage it with additives and real mash. however it still needed up in the bin. Even our greedy dog would not eat it. SO NOT BUYING FROM COOK AGAIN, which is a shame because when they started out they were brilliant.”
“I just had the worst spaghetti bolognaise ever!
£6.50 for a meal for one which I purchased in the Morpeth store.
In hindsight, I don’t think I would be prepared to pay £2.50 - £2 for this meal.
It was so disappointing.
I carefully cooked it exactly as instructed on the sleeve, but there was no sauce on it at all. The meat was nothing special, and the amount of spaghetti was well, sadly lacking …
I couldn’t possibly recommend it, and cannot see any reason why I would ever want to give Cook another try…”
“Bought the red wine steak pie and it was delicious wthj lots of well cooked neat and gravy
Would buy again
Also good value and delicious sticky toffee putting”
“My first experience, and last! Very disappointed with the Lamb Moussaka (£5.95), not nice because it was horribly salty, so couldn't eat it. It ended up in the bin, too salty for the dog! I have had far better Moussakas from the supermarkets for half the price!”
