“Have had the Chicken Dijon and Chicken Alexander recently. Awful!. Tasteless and very tough and inedible chicken. Utterly disgusting for the price and would never buy again or recommend to anyone”

“So we spent £150 on meals as we are trying to be healthy. But each meal is tiny…. The packaging is misleading as they're the same size as anywhere else but once the food is cooked, whats left is tiny. My mrs is 5 foot four and weighs 50kg. She would need a 2 person meal and a side to be full. I thought a £4 rice would give enough rice for a side, unfortunately not. You are guaranteed to need to spend £8 on rice to get a portion. What an absolute rip off. If you’re a 70+ year old their portion sizes might be sufficient but for anyone else I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for food…”

“Absolutely foul. Nothing tastes like it should. Way too many vegetables in everything. Overpriced and literally has no flavour whatsoever. I wouldn't even pay a quid for these. If you haven't already, don't bother. No where near worth the money. Bought for convenience, wish I'd never wasted my money.”

“Tried Cook nut roast, mouth burning, sweating, can’t taste anything but chilli. I do have an allergy, so should have checked I accept that, but as I am vegetarian and cooked thousands of nut roasts I have never felt the need to wreck it with chilli it didn’t occur to me it would have chilli in it. Why? Ruined a good nut roast”

“Bought the steak and ale pie which after two mouthfuls I descarded. The pastry was like thick cardboard, and the 4 pieces of meat was tough and the so called gravy was gluppy thick and had an odd taste. Complete waste of £5.00. I have bought other meals from Cook and found them to be of a good quality so don’t know what went wrong with this pie. Would I buy again, definitely no”

“Looks like muck, my dog rejected the food after myself, Mrs and both kids did. Soo bad we threw the remaining meals away be ause we didn't want anyone else to have to endure tasting them. The absolute worst food we have ever purchased. Do not waste your money on this companies meals.”

“This was the first time I bought Cook products, very disappointed with the Sweet Potato Katsu Curry. No taste or flavour at all, I didn't expect it to be "hot and spicy" but all my family agreed it didn't taste of anything - at £8.50 I won't be using Cook again.”

“Very salty. Mixed herbs in three different meals overwhelmed the taste. Meat chewy no flavour my dog food looks more appetising. Veg like leaks make flavoured sauce go runny. Beef burgeon tastes very odd leaves a metallic taste. I got because I had seriously I’ll and needed easy meals to help recovery. I ended up throwing them away after a couple of mouthfuls.”

“Have ordered 5 different meals , last night had the chicken and mushroom lasagna (for 2) It was dreadful, we had 5 pieces of rather tough chicken between us and not a mushroom in sight! It was awful, not to have a mushroom in a chicken and mushroom lasagna is unacceptable, not even evidence of mashed up one. Going to try the fish pie tonight I hope that’s good I really want it to be as it’s convenient as I live walking distance from the cook in the Cheltenham, just hoping this was a one off bad experience we’ll see.”

“Ruined Christmas Lunch!!! We ordered the Stuffed Turkey crown for 4 and it was appallingl!! Followed all the cooking instructions properly and when cooked after letting it stand for a while ,when carving it the turkey fell apart and crumbled the item was nearly all stuffing…what a sham, will never order from you again!!”

“If I could give 0 stars I would! Our original order was mislabelled and we were sent someone else’s. Cool then resent our order but it never arrived. This was then resent AGAIN and never arrived! All Christmas food, gifted by a relative. Obviously the couriers fault, but perhaps don’t book couriers who cannot fulfil deliveries…? Wasted 2 days waiting in for orders that didn’t come, plus making countless phone calls to Cook. By the third reissue of our order, a lot of vegan/veggie items were out of stock anyway…”

“repulsive company as a former employee I hugely recommend avoiding these meals. they put no care or effort into the production of these meals. I have seen some very questionable hygiene practices and ingredients and despite being insanely overpriced they keep employees at trainees month after month to pay them less than min wage. this is the third time of posting this review as cook keep trying to get ot taken down (says all you need to know). bullying of staff is rife. toxic man hating female run environment where abuse and bullying is rife”

“DO NOT BUY ‘COOK FROZEN FOOD’. It should stay forever frozen. I have always seen these in their own separate fridges and thought, they must be really good. The packaging too I thought was very well done and enticing. God, was I wrong. The salmon and asparagus gratin was absolutely awful. The fish smelled and tasted off. My wife didn’t even bother eating anything else after one spoonful. The cottage pie, tasted like cardboard and bland as hell. Was even real beef? I should have looked at all the reviews on here before buying any of the dishes. I should have taken notice of the only people buying it were old people. I guess your taste buds disappear when you’re past 70. Someone should close this company down because, the food is truly disappointing and horrendous. Never again!”

“Awful service and I’ve not even managed to buy anything yet. Tried a few weeks ago to purchase items. Couldn’t get the site to accept my debit card. Checked with my bank it my card was fine, bank could see attempts were made to take payment but, your site, not my card or the bank was the issue. Called your customer service number and they couldn’t make it work either. Decided to try to reorder my items this morning and I can’t get through checkout as the only times I’m being offered for delivery are long after I need the items because some of them need to be removed from my basket. I’ve no clue as to which items you’re referring to so, the only option would be to remove everything, re add what I want and see if the delivery dates offered are any earlier. And all that is before we get back to the point where I attempt to pay again and potentially have the same problems as last time. I’d wish you luck but, from my experience and the reviews of others, don’t think you deserve it.”
