“Happy with the Gurnard I received but very disappointed with the half rack of lamb ..clearly pictured as having 4 chops to it but arrived with 3 this was ordered for an anniversary meal with my husband and although the weight was correct the size was not when I emailed to point this out I got an email back apologising and offering me 10% off my next order as the product was not as described and had slipped past quality control...call me picky but if you are going sell things that do not match your advertised description the least I would expect is that it would be replaced with a correct one.... Shame as this has spoilt my experience and I shall return to shopping in store where I can see what I am getting.. Beware when ordering as descriptions and photos it would appear may not match what you receive!”

“It was a little bit darker in colour to other pork joints I have had, it was a little fatty, but tender. The best bit was the ultra crispy crackling!”

“Quality of meat excellent, but consistency of stock not good. Ordered bacon via website on two separate occasions only to be told on delivery that it is out of stock. The website seems to think there is stock ?!?”

“Well packaged, fast delivery and tasty meat (apparently). However half rack of lamb meant to feed 2-3 people barely fed my two year old, one had only 3 chops and was really really fatty. Oxtails only had 3 bits and one of them had no meat on it! Ended up being very expensive and not much for your money.”

“Streaky bacon was excellent. I am not normally a lover of frozen meat but thought I'd give it a try. Found the pork joint abit on the tough side and not a lot of flavour. Have tried others in your area who are better.”

“It would have been helpful if you had specified 'bone in', as I'm used to rolled loin. While I accept that I should have noticed, and where joints had been boned that was stated, it wasn't enough for everyone at the meal as I had done my calculation based on 2kg of meat,and I had to get another joint. Hi Penny, Thanks for the feedback on this. We have now amended the site to show the the cut is indeed on the bone. We will also look into providing customers with a boned and rolled loin of pork in the future. I hope the meat was enjoyable. Best wishes, Coombe Farm Organic

“The burgers are a good size but I will not be purchasing them again as I did not like the additional herbs. I could taste mint which spoiled my enjoyment. I wanted a beef burger with no overwhelming taste of mint.”

“3 stars only due to the fact out of stock item was stated in stock twice and paid for then had to get a refund..if items are not in stock please state so on your website and do not let customers pay for these items.”

“A few times the items have arrived partially defrosted which has meant having to cook them to save spoilage or having to throw them away as I haven't had the time to cook them. Contacted the company on this and they resolved the matter with a partial refund and promised to raise it to their couriers. has put me off reordering to a degree. Otherwise am happy with the products and it's great that they are grass fed.”

Hi! Thank you for taking time to review us! We are sorry that some of your items had partially defrosted. As long as the products and ice packs were still cold and didn't reach room temperature it's still okay to pop them in the freezer as they are vac packed and blast frozen. Our packaging (sheep wool, ice packs) can keep our products frozen for up to 40 hours. However the box should be kept out of sunlight. Please get in touch with us to discuss further details. “The flavour of the steaks were excellent. But they were far to thin. Which didn't allow me to cook them as I like. I would much rather pay a bit more for the option to buy a bigger steak. It was the T-bone I was after as I can't get them in the local butchers. But they didn't have any in stock.”

Hi Christopher! Thanks for your feedback! We've sent you Sirloin and Rumpsteaks which both have a weight of 225g and are cut around 1.5 - 2cm. Our butcher thinks that's the best way to do and a "classic" cut. If you are looking for bigger steaks I can recommend you a whole Chateaubriand (which is the best part of the Fillet) - you can then cut your steaks to your liking. Also our Fore Rib of Beef (starting with 1.2kg) would be a good alternative to the T-Bone Steak - it's like three T-Bone Steaks in one cut. Please let us know what you think about it. “Not for me. The braising steak, although delicious, was cut razor blade thin. From two bits of marrowbone, and beef bones, I got no marrow, and about 1 pint of beef fat.”

Hey Dick! Thank you for your review. We are sorry that our products are not to your taste. The braising steak is normally cut into around 1cm slices - if you could send me a picture that would be helpful as I could talk to our butcher about it? Sorry that your bone broth wasn't to your liking - we have a great response to our Organic Stock Bones and Marrow Bones as the broth is full of flavour and packed with nutrients and minerals. We also do ready-made bone broth with the same bones (you can find it on our website) - maybe you like to give it a try? Please send me an email for further information. “I was very disappointed with the marrow bones. It was one large joint full of fat and hardly any marrow also disappointing stock bones. I have not used the lamb and stewing beef yet.”

“Sadly I was a little disappointed. Not in he quality of the meat because I haven't tried it yet & the samples I tried at the Dartmouth FOod Fayre were delicious. However, I didn't receive a text or email as to when the order would arrive so wasn't able to warn my husband that it was expected and what he had to do with it as I was out for the whole day. I don't know what time it arrived but he found it in our unlocked porch as I had requested and put it in he kitchen until I arrived home. At his point I quickly put it Into the freezer but the meat was beginning to thaw out at the edges. I still took the risk and hope it will be ok when I am ready to use it. It was beautifully packaged but the cost of doing that must push the price up considerably and leaves me wondering whether I wouldn't be better to buy good quality fresh unfrozen meat when I am ready to do so rather than buying it using this method and risking the possibility of it thawing out as well as being left with packaging waste I don't want.”

We’re so sorry to hear of your disappointment, particularly after trying our delicious samples at the Dartmouth Food Fayre. We really appreciate you taking the time to let us know of your experience. We have tried to make it clear on our website and order confirmation process when you will receive your delivery (we send an email when orders are despatched). However, we appreciate that there is more we can do to ensure you know when it will arrive and will work on this in the coming weeks. Regarding the packaging, thanks for the compliment, we agree that it is very striking! More importantly, it is a fantastic system for keeping our meat at the perfect temperature during transit. It is also as sustainable as possible - every element of the packaging is recyclable or reusable. We can personally assure you that whilst our packaging is slightly more expensive compared to the polystyrene alternatives, we do not add a premium to our products to counter that. We hope this experience hasn’t put you off our service and hope to serve you again.
