“even when you contact depop about a deleted profile or product nothing is done. you have to wait the entire shippping time until they figure out your product hasnt been shipped. then they grant a redund which takes days, after youve notified them from day one profile and product was deleted.”

“I am convinced they hate their sellers which is so backwards since they take fees from every one of our sales and monetize off us. Whether it's them randomly taking down your items that clearly aren't counterfeit, even the ones that have tags showing in all the photos, they expect you to have a receipt to authenticate EVERY SINGLE PURCHASE! I know not one single person who will keep all their receipts for every item they buy and sell on depop nor is that ever been a qualification to sell. The customer service is so terrible, they will side with sellers who will tell you no flaws on an item then deliver you an item with makeup stains and still somehow side with the seller and not require them to offer at least a partial refund. I am getting to the point where I hate depop so much I want to flat out delete my account all together.”
“Most of my transactions have been smooth, with that said I’m sure these positive reviews come from those who haven’t had issues. If you do have an issue, however, you’re screwed. One seller listed an item as a medium when it arrived as a large. I sent depop pictures thinking it would be a simple open & shut case, but instead they said the seller was in the right & I was stuck with an item I didn’t pay for. Now they are dishonoring their 10 day policy. I purchased an item Oct 8, it has been 9 days and the time sensitive item has yet to ship. I was prepared to request a refund today but I noticed depop changed the items refund day to the 25th, giving the seller 17 days to ship without my knowledge or consent. This has to be illegal, it’s certainly unethical. Please be cautious of the five star reviews that haven’t had any issues because whether a company is good or not depends on how they handle mishaps and how they handle their own policy. Depop does not honor their own policy.”
“recently registered as a first-time seller, but the experience has been extremely frustrating due to multiple technical issues. The system was buggy—I had to select the clothing category at least ten times before it would register. I was also logged out automatically several times. After about 30 minutes of trying, I finally managed to upload a photo of my item and post it.
However, right after that, I was prompted to download the app—and as soon as I did, my account was suspended without explanation. I contacted customer support to appeal the decision, and this was the response I received:
"We appreciate you taking the time to appeal our decision.
We've reviewed the actions taken against your account and have made the decision to keep it closed."”
“As a seller it is really disappointing to see the lack of help Depop Support provides even when their app is at fault and the lack of knowledge they have on thier own app. I recently had an order weigh more than what the Depop App auto calculated. When I took the package to the post office it obviously weighed more than 12 oz therefore the only solution was to buy more postage. I paid $11.40 out of pocket to have this package shipped. Since I had to buy more postage, the original Depop shipping label was covered therefore my Depop App never registered that this package shipped. If a package doesn't show shipped in the Depop app within 10 days, the buyer receives a full refund. I contacted Depop Support about this issue and they basically said there was nothing that could be done even though I provided the new shipping label, with buyers name & full address. The new label also has tracking and was delivered to the buyer. So not only did the buyer receive a $40 product fully free, I also paid $11.40 to have it shipped all because the Depop App can't calculate package sizing correctly and Depop Support has no care if their app is at fault. Terribly disappointing.”
“Many of us rely on using the apps size filter to find our accurate size. I can hardly see the sizes on the tags in pictures, so I especially rely on the bold size tag. However, someone posted an inaccurate size and depop says it’s fine! Basically if someone uses THE APPS size chart, and posts the wrong size, it’s the buyers fault!”
“This is the worst website i have ever used in my entire life. Bought Nike Nocta tech fleece hoodie and pants set for my son and the first time using the site. The item was smaller than expected. sent photos as they requested and to later say the wont refund me or accept a return. so it means if a paying customer buys an item then no returns? so basically they are a total scam. All customers will have to be aware of the scam”
“It was my first and last time purchasing with this company. I went in, hoping that it would be much like eBay and Poshmark, however, they do not protect their buyers at all. I purchased a jumper that was listed as excellent condition with one stain on a pocket. What I received was an item that had bleach stains all over the front of the jumper. I sent videos and pictures right away, and then I just received an automated response that essentially it was totally fine and not a misrepresentation of an item. Had I known the actual condition of this piece, I certainly wouldn’t have purchased it. Luckily, I’m crafty enough that I will just reverse tie-dye entire thing, but that’s not what I wanted, and I would not have paid for this. Terrible seller for being dishonest and equally terrible platform for not protecting its buyers.”
“I bought shoes that were advertised as good condition. I got the shoes and the outside looked perfect! I left a review saying so. Then I realized the inside soles were completely separated and the shoes are falling apart. I tried to send them back and sent pictures and Depop said that I damaged the shoes, and they didn’t come that way. It offended me and now I’m trying to warn other people.”
“Unfortunately it seems I should have read reviews prior to purchasing. I was skeptical but spent almost $100 on an item that was damaged. Customer service refused to provide a refund. Horrible company with terrible customer service.”
“There are quite a few sellers who fail to send items of clothing out after purchasing and this is very disappointing.
They can also say that items were not worn but clearly are.
Customer support can be bad and can spoil the experience.”
“I dispatched a record in the exact condition that I listed it in, it arrived damaged and the buyer opened a case. Depop ignored my side of everything when I tried to dispute this case, there is no consideration for damage in transit or assistance for sellers when this occurs.
Instead there was a lot of miscommunication, Depop were placing the blame on me and trying to wrap the case up neatly by ‘siding’ with the buyer. I received multiple vague emails saying ‘we have decided that the item is not as described’, which was very frustrating as I sent the item exactly as I described it and I packaged it securely to try preventing this from happening. I kept trying to explain this and I was getting nowhere.
It took me hours to find out from the buyer exactly what had happened and resolve some of the confusion, but it took a lot of stress and hassle to even get there. Depop still don’t have anything in place to support me as a seller in this situation, so I have to both accept a return of a damaged item and issue a refund.
I don’t expect the buyer to keep the item, but I do imagine that Depop have enough in their revenue to refund the buyer themselves, considering that the damage occurred in transit. At least it would have been helpful if they’d had some protocol to support me in opening a case against the shipping provider to claim compensation from them.”
“If I could put zero stars I would. After seven years of using depop actively and enthusiastically, they suspended my account with bogus claims that I sold an expired cosmetic (which I didn’t) and continued to harass me to send off a parcel that was pending in the mail (havie sent it yesterday it is normal for it to take 5-7 days to arrive) even when my account had been closed down by the company. Awful customer service borderline on abuse. Horrified by the way this company handled my shop which was worked on over the last seven years with over 170 five star reviews. Shut down within an instant. Would not recommend to anyone.”
“From the reviews even I was nervous. I didn't contact the seller before I purchased. She actually posted it in the same day I bought it. On the app it still says awaiting shipping 4 days later. So I thought it was a scam. The item has been shipped and evri have it. Best to contact the seller first and check reviews.”

“I purchased a hoodie from a seller and was charged for the purchase. After 10 days the seller deleted their profile, never sent the item, stole my money and no one from Depop is helping me to resolve the issue. I have submitted multiple requests for assistance with no response.”
“Now had 2 orders that one of Depop's chosen carriers (Evri) claimed to have delivered but not received my goods. This latest incident, Evri claimed to have delivered @ 00:31! I live in a block of flats with a door entry system and do not recall being g woken up at half past midnight! Unsurprisingly Depop have washed their hands of this immediately. Poor choice of carrier and even poorer customer service”
