“I have been calling D&G for a week now regarding my hob that no longer functions .
My first 2 calls the guys were quite helpful , however I couldn't get any of their engineers out for over 2weeks wait , I was advised to find one from checkertrades which I did . Paid him myself and he wrote a report saying that my hob is
unrepairable. I have sent all the paperwork to an address by email 2 days ago , no response from them so I have called again
Only to be told could take 5 to 10 days to for them to get back to me after being told previously that should be contacted within 24 hours . When I called today I couldn't be put through to the department that makes any decisions. Meantime I have no way of making normal meals for my family and feel that having an insurance policy which I've had 18years and paid . Very disappointed the whole point of having insurance is for a quick and speedy resolution on important items in your home .
They need to up their game . Blaming Covid for the lack of them making a decision quickly I'm sure if your at home or at an office working you can make a decision straight away .”

“Please do not take any policies of any kind out with this company. I am in my late 40s and in those years I have never had any cause to complain about any company. I am an NHS worker, work long hours and expected that when I took cover out with this company in order to fix and look after my boiler - it was not the case. Domestic & General cancelled my policy due to my first repair being just £5 over their “first repair limit” which I was unaware existed and was not informed of when I took their policy out. Do not trust this so called service. If I could rate them as ‘0’ I would do. Go somewhere else.”
“I would put a O rather than a star if i could. Dosmetic and General USED to be a reputable company but sadly not anymore. They may as well employ robots to do a better job than the empty headed staff that they use at the moment. Took all afternoon spoke to several staff apparently management don't want to speak to customers. Finally got in touch with the complaints department but the girl was too opinionated didn't listen just read from a script Despite having had policies for many years they lost it then found it then lost it again.. Don't waste your money signing up to this company. There are a lot of better ones out there.”
“Awful company to deal with. Can't get through on the phones tried, waiting in hold for 2 hours and still they didn't answer. Paying for a monthly maintenance plan and cant even get a repair sorted. 5 days now without heat or hot water. STAY WELL AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!”

“Firstly you ring them (auto attendant) tells you to fill in the online form, you fill the online form in it fails to submit. So you work your way through the autoattendant and eventually get an agent who tells you he's got an engineer coming next day. Engineer doesn't turn up, on ringing the company they've farmed it out to they inform you they don't support your product. So back to the website to complain, waiting for a reply to another form filled in. It's taken me ages and I've spent my time looking at the reviews. How can a company like D&G still keep running with such poor performance? Also the reviews for the company they use are also poor, so goodness know when I'll see a fix!”
“The D&G phone operator just hanged up on me. And the whole conversation (less than 10 minus) he just keeps asking for my appliance's details (I think they work on commissions bases ) instead of helping and answering my enquiries, Which how a customer service hotline exists”
“I took out an accidental damage policy with D & G. When I had to claim on it the customer service was appalling!!!! After 6 weeks I had to contact them (as during this time the only correspondance I received from them was a text message to say they had received my laptop) , to which they fobbed me off and told me there was nothing they could do. I will never take out a policy with this company again and have cancelled all three existing policies I have with them. In today's competitive insurance market, the non-existence of customer service received was astounding.”
“Broken tumble dryer since 15 January.
Have spent hours waiting to talk to a human being..... when you get through all they want to do is pass you elsewhere like a game of ping pong..
Take my tip , after being told the earliest engineer date 1st February!!
So decided to scrap the 19 month tumble and bought a replacement with next day delivery.
Cancelled policy and the stress is gone.!!!
Dreadful company who seem to purposely mess you about until you decide to give up.

“If i could have giving you no stares I would have,still waiting for cooker to be fixed since Dec 2020 next engineer not coming out till feb2021,only needs a part to stop fan from continuesley running,3 engineers later still not fixed,my god they have only got to go on youtube and they will show them what to do,my 3 year old grandson could do a better job ,can not believe how poor they are”
“Domestic & general agreed to replace my damaged siemens dishwasher under their cover 9 months ago, & proposed some models, none of which matched the larger size of the original. I then identified 3 suitable models from the single bosch/siemens/neff family brand (ie equivalents) & got their agreement to provide one of these, however they've not as yet come up with the goods, blaming it on covid. I have clarified with the manufacturer these are available, however D&G simply sit quiet. When i call them, have to hold for 20 mins or more, & then get passed around from dept to dept, each time with these long waits, & all claiming to not be able to make outgoing calls & do the running around themselves etc etc, & here we are 9 months later, having spent hours on the phone chasing them, to no avail!”
“They are repeat offenders for calling numbers registered with the Telephone Preference Service, which is illegal, trying to sell domestic insurance cover. When they do I leave them to talk to themselves until they realise I've put the phone down, and then report them to TPS. Why do they persist?”
“Very poor service from domestic and general my 8 wk old washing machine has been broken since the 5th January . I,am a key worker and need a clean uniform for work everyday as well as having a family .
