“Domestic and general are rude and tell you different things on the phone depending on who you speak to.
Have paid them for years and not received any renewal information they just keep taking your money could have paid to replace all my items by now with the insurance money I have paid.
My boiler service is overdue and they don't care keep passing you around. Will never use again !!!!!! Last year boiler service the company they sent out broke the clips on my boiler and when tried to report to them they were not interested they said it was the company that did the service problem. Took me ages to get it sorted.
They don't care who they are sending out and when you do make a service call you have to call the company of the appliance anyway so might as well pay for the repairs direct to who makes the machines. Would probably work out cheaper.”
“This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my being as a human. The woman answering the phone was very rude. The service never came and I had to cancel my product that was under warranty to be fixed and bug a new 1. I simply couldn't deal with this company anymore . This place should be closes down by the BBB. I would gice it zero starts and throw a celebratory party if they closed. Place it total garbage, which is were my washer machine must go now.”
“I purchased a Dyson V10 in July 2019 for £449.00 and took out a 4 year insurance policy with Domestic and General upon purchase. The vacuum cleaner stopped working in March 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. I have contacted D and G to make them aware of this and they gave me a number for Dyson, which I contacted and two separate occasions they promised to send a courier but have not. As my insurers, DG has done nothing to rectify this matter and keep passing me back to Dyson. I have been without the use of this vacuum cleaner for 2 years and D G has refused to honour the policy, though the vacuum is clearly defective through no fault of my own. Is this what you consider good customer service and aftercare?
DG you should be very ashamed of yourself and how you treat policy holders, who take out policies in good faith to protect their investments. You have refused to honour the policy agreement.”
“A engineer came out to fix my fridge he ordered the new part and told me it would be a week to get new part.Its been a week no contact from them so I phoned and they said we don't have estimated date for part coming in.Im left with a fridge not working and nearest supermarket 12 miles away I am throwing out food on a daily basis.These ploicies are not worth the paper they are writing on shoddy service but they are happy enough to have taken the money.”
“Sent my mobile phone off for repair and they returned an older mobile phone, even though i paid the excess of £75. I asked for the original phone to be returned but they abruptly told me it had been lost. Now i have an old phone worth £80 and i am still paying for the new phone they had lost. Ombudsman contacted awaiting result now.”
“They sell appliance plans with no intention to follow through with repair services if they are needed. I tried to set up a repair and was told they have no technician for my area, they should have told me that when i purchased the plans. To me me, that is fraud. I would not recommend buying a plan from them”

“Awful I paid insurance on beko tumble dryer since 2015 at £14 something a month. I was sold insurance as if it breaks we repair if we can't repair we will replace. Now I want a repair and they have just cancelled my policy due to internal rust. Why not have a time limit on the policy if they won't honor it due to rust. I could of saved my money and bought a new one every year. Shameful service !”
“I have called numerous times, asked for a supervisor. Was told they would call me by evening, that was 2 times. No call back. I have been without a washer for 8 weeks!!! If I could give them negative marks I would!!!”
“We are disabled pensioners aged 70+ & 65+. We took a policy along with others . The curved T V has now been wrote off with an engineer. D& G never phoned to inform us. They now say: your TV is no longer available which cost us 5 years ago £1645-00 They now want us to accept a 55inch square TV costing £465-00 pound. They tell me they do not replace the TV on cost but on spec. Bloody disgusting. I argued with them . Now they have referred my case to a complaint department within there organization. Any advice. 10/7/22”
“I called for a washing machine repair online, easy system. They messaged me back next morning as i logged the repair at night. Engineer was booked, he replaced the part and 5 minutes later he was gone... very quick and satisfying service, it was my first time calling them out...i was happy.”

“How can Whirlpool associate their name with such a scam of a company? Whirlpool forced me to sign up with D&G to get the help I need. What follows was weeks of promises, all of which were not met. Every phone call they would tell me what "I wanted to hear", but nothing EVER happened. They changed their stated policy to me every call. I would normally stay and fight such wrong doing. I have done so in other situations and won, but this company is the lowest of the low and my mental health is worth more than dealing with them any more.”
“I am very happy with this company. I have peace of mind knowing that if my appliances break down they well try to fix them. If the appliance can’t be fixed then you we’ll get a replacement I can personally testify to that. I would recommend domestic and general to everyone.”

“Appalling service from D&G. I took out the policy last year and had a letter from Bali this year telling me my annual service was due. On telephoning Bali was told that they didn’t cover my area and I should never been sold the policy. After contacting D&G several times, of which 1 Customer service person who was extremely rude and aggressive over the phone told me I couldn’t speak to a supervisor as he was working from home, he then just put me on hold and disappeared never came back. I called again and spoke to another person who registered my complaint, seems they don’t log your dissatisfaction unless you specifically say it is a complaint. Anyway I was told my complaint was logged and someone would contact me within a week. Needless to say this didn’t/hasn’t happened. So I contacted again today to cancel my policies. Apparently I should be contacted within the next 3 working days, I won’t hold my breath. Very quick to sell policies regardless of whether they can actually do the work or have any company who could. Very quick to take your money, not very quick at providing the service you have been paying for and from what I have read on line on there complaint procedures it could potentially take anything from 8 weeks to 6 months to get an “offer”, not my money refunded. I am absolutely disgusted with this company, it’s non service and non existing customer service. Will defer judgement on refund policy but it’s not looking good so preparing email to Ombudsman and TV programmes.”
“Awful awful customer service. I have spent 4 hours on the phone over 2 weeks trying to get my Hoover washing machine fixed. Keep getting put on to different people. Asked for a supervisor was rudely cut iff. Foreign call centres. only awaiting a spring Told me it was escalated no one has rang back as promised I would go to other service providers”
