“i ordered an item and after i got it , it didnt match the description. i emailed them and let them know and i asked for a pre-paid return label. they offered a $10 refund if i just keep the item. i agreed. the refund never came. i asked where it was and they lied and said they "couldnt" refund to paypal (i paid with paypal, so thats a lie) and gave me store credit instead! (trying to force me to spend more money at their store!) i said that isnt what we agreed to. i filed a claim with paypal, and east essence said to return the item.they knew we had already agreed i would keep the item so they knew i had to remove the tags and i wouldnt be able to return it or get the refund if the tags were removed. they are such corrupt scam artists, the items dont match the descritptions and they lie and steal. i would never do business with such people again!”
“I just purchased an athletic suit and one of those soft sporty abaya dresses. Although I was expecting white stripes on the black suit, I love it. It's nice and soft and unlike pictured, the pants are somewhat loose, so it is sunnah. I am tall, so I ordered a medium 58 inches on dress. It's the perfect length, as I am a size 10 and it's very feminine. I suspect that the way to care for these clothes is handwashing and not putting them into the dryer, so they don't fade and last longer.
It took around 12 days for the product to ship from India by DHL. They were in a small bag, but so what, that's what the iron is for. No, the fabric didn't stink and I'd say be careful because there are Muslims in India trying to make a living and being persecuted, so cut them some slack.

“Be careful with this company! The products are bad and the clothing comes all squeeze into a small bag to save their money in shipping. The clothes come from India and when I opened the package, a very bad stench erupted causing me to get sick from the bad smell coming from the fabrics inside that package! I tried calling and emailing this company over a week and have not been able to reach anyone to fix this. Just now, I tried calling again and got through to a representative but was hung up on by her. I called again and spoke to another person named Uzma, but she was difficult to speak with saying that they don't cover bad smells and that I will not get a full refund and I am stuck paying for shipping and won't be refunded the return shipping either. She then said to take a picture of the problem. Well, how do you take a picture of a very bad smell??? She couldn't answer and said again to take a picture of the problem. Someone tell me how to do that??? It's a bad stench so I'm seriously confused on how to take a picture of a bad smell??? “Deceptive pricing is illegal, according to the FTC. The company posts all or most of the items on their website using this deceptive tactic by promoting them to be at super discounted rates of up to 70% off, when in actuality, the price was never that higher price and was always the price they sell at.
One abaya I returned was 2 inches too long; I sent pictures and they still claimed that after their investigation, it was the correct length. The picture shows 2 abayas from them, one the correct the length, the other longer, but they still refuse to accept their error.
Another issue is the color was completely off of 2 garments which I returned; although one color of another item is on their website and shows a different color than what I received, they claim there is no error. The other abaya I returned they issued me a gift card as they claim it was not eligible for return due to it being discounted. EVERYTHING ON THEIR WEBSITE CLAIMS TO BE AT A HUGE DISCOUNT! On the product page, it does NOT say the item is on clearance, it doesn't say it's not returnable, and after over a month, it's still the same price!
Their policy states they will refund return shipping if it is their error; they are refusing to give me back my money on my shipping and the other abaya.
Report them to the BBB and the FTC and anywhere else. They tout that they have been in business for 12 years, as if that means they are doing well. Look all over the internet at their reviews, they are terrible!
Stay away from this company! Your hard earned money is better spent elsewhere, even if you have to pay a little more, EastEssence is NOT worth the headache.”

“Dishonest company. Sent me an item that was advertised as a completely different color (white not burgundy) and also described the hijab as Georgette but it was a completely different fabric, suede like.
I filed a PayPal claim and they made me return the item at my own expense, although it was not even the same item I had ordered, at their own fault.
Now my tracking info says they received it long ago but they still have not refunded my money to me.

I had been waiting two weeks trying to clear my order, being handed off to different employees, and in that time I was assured that my order was approved and on its way TWICE. Then, 17 days after I placed it my order it was cancelled, suddenly and without notice.
