Already had my charger replaced once, now it doesn’t schedule . My last review was deleted which is odd. So posting an update . I have been waiting for an answer for 2 weeks with no answer unless I call the tech team. Latest is that apparently these units are not compatible with VW cars 🚗

A local firm to my home. I thought that would help and give ‘buy local’ type reassurance. The pre sales talk and reassurances are quite convincing. However, product is wholly unreliable, after sales service is non existent. Most of the time the unit does not charge. Most of the time the approach of the company is to equivocate, try diversionary tactics, but certainly not to take any pro-active steps to solve problems. The product and service are so terrible that I’ve had to say I’d visit the office to sort out the issues. That made a tiny bit of improvement. But not much! I’ve no experience of other domestic charging unit, but I’d say avoid EO at all costs.

Based on my experience I would not recommend. I have a smart charger that only works when connected to wifi. I have changed my broadband provider and have not been able to reconnect through the app. Support is sparse, cannot call through to technical, spend ages holding for customer services, only for them to take a message saying I’ll have to wait 3 days for a response from technical. There’s no other way to get help with an offline charger that’s been down for a month.

Failed less than a year old and it's seemingly impossible to get support on the phone, email apparently takes 3 working days.

The engineer only had one colour of charger unit so no idea why we are asked for a preference. Connection is in bypass at present because the unit shorted out at the bottom neutral and earth connections. No electrical test certificate supplied for the works

Absolutely Appalling after sales service. The home charger stopped working the CallCenter lady was completely unable to help me in any way. I could not recommend this company to anyone The home charges are cheaper than others but really don’t bother

Fitted on Thursday, went to charge car the following Thursday and the Charger blew up. My car is currently in the Town Getting charged on a public charger.

Still not working installed over a week ago, allegedly software issues, having waited 4 months for the installation. Shocking! Or would be if I had electricity!!!!!

I have been waiting for over a week to speak to an engineer as my charger is not connecting to WiFi. Two calls made by me and still no response. So far not at all impressed.

I paid for an Eo charger but the installer turned up with one that says octopus energy in huge letters. Doesn’t look as nice as what I bought. No I’m not with octopus energy. The installer just said he brought the wrong one. And he travelled over 100 miles he said. Would be good to check products before loading the van. So lost one star. The app is awful - if it was the year 2006 and apps were a new thing to us I would be more forgiving but really in this day and age the app gets you zero stars and fails the whole product - lucky for you one star is minimum to write the review. Sort the app out and get good installers and would be a 5 star product.

EO claimed that fitting would be in six weeks, took three and half months, finally fitted a 10 daysago and worked for ten minutes until the electrician left. Has not worked since and no sign of anyone coming to fix it

Very bad Customers service. Contract agreed and money paid and then more money. No grommets for the Screw holes and no instructions on how to use them. Very bad experience

Why is there not a zero star option because this company deserves it. This is a disaster product. The company has no maintenance system in place whatsoever. I had problems with my charger from day 1 which took weeks to fix and then only after I left a stinging review. I was invited to amend the review on the promise of a replacement charger which has never materialised over a year after it was promised. When I followed up I was ignored. This unreliable heap of junk this company supplies has packed up once again. This is sadly the only way this company does anything. Nobody will offer any assistance until you leave a bad review. Pending the action they now take I will be leaving further revelations in due course.

I have a EO mini Pro and will never ever buy anything from EO again. I'm a Electrical contractor and off grid solar installer and install complex systems daily. But this little piece of garbage beat me. First 3 to 5 hours of training noone tell you about, second it can never work anyway till you get the stock 'assigned' to you after a call to tech support - and im in australia so this is 7pm at night. I guess this is how they ensure you are trained. Several calls to tech support, about 12 hours total over 6 months to get it working. If the job was for a customer I'd be going bankrupt. Instead of making thier garbage better they just make the training longer. It's anual renewable too so you have to do it again. I installed a $1.2mill battery by ABB/Samsung in the same timeframe without annually updated installer training... It's very "home made" with hobby grade electronics. Raspberry Pi as the processor. The plastic isn't uv stable, used to be black, it's now white. I'd be surprised it's still there a year from now. It's solar mode uses solar produced. This is useless as my house also need that power. If it used solar that was being exported it would be excess solar power and be essentially free power. They way they do it is solar power(that's not excess) goes to the car and then the house imports coal power at the same time. Unlikely to save you any money at all Just chuck their instructions in the bin, and move the CT to the incoming mains and it will now put power in the car that was going to be exported. Excess or spill solar will now charge your car for free. Tech support is useless. Very expensive. The app is crappy and no API or any other input. Don't waste your time and money on this company.

My charger doesn’t work. It disconnects after a few minutes. The app is very basic and the Wi-Fi function keeps failing. I’ve only had 30 minutes of charge since it was fitted last week. I’ve emailed EO but no response.

Really wanted to give this charger a 5 star review but unfortunately 3 big things that make that not possible: 1.) You have to have separate accounts for each charger so if you're getting more than one (we have 2 for our 2 electric cars) then you have to log out of one and log back into the other 2.) Solar bypass pulls more than the bypass amount and doesn't look into where the energy is coming from. So once a solar export starts it'll kick in and drain your home battery or pull more energy than the export pulling peak power off the grid, or more often than not both. 3.) Hidden charges, did you get told you have to pay for the app every single month after 3 years or you'll loose access to the charge scheduling, solar bypass etc... No me neither, don't get me wrong I've nearly 3 years for them to change that policy before it impacts me but very, very, very naughty. It's a real shame as the chargers themselves are exactly what we hoped for small, discrete and fit in with the building. If it wasn't for those three problems I'd happily give them a rave review.

Charging unit failed not long after installation. I have been repeatedly told they would fix it, then replace it but months on i'm still left with a faulty unit while they 'work on a fix'. I have asked for the unit to be removed and a refund issued and they say they will arrange for an installer to remove the unit but there's always an excuse. AVOID!
