I truly enjoyed taking your online course to get certified for my EWP/MEWP. I do have several questions: -having taken this course, can I now book or reserve one of these devices such as an articulating boom and is it necessary or mandatory to show proof of this certification? -is your certification recognized throughout Ontario and/or Canada? -i believe i requested and paid $10 extra to get a wallet sized card. Will this be automatically sent to my home address? I appreciate in advance for your responses, Marc Pilote

Hello Marc, The certificate is proof that you have undergone the theoretical training and evaluation for the MEWP course. On top of that, in the resources section, you probably noticed that there are 3 operator evaluation checklists. Depending on the type of equipment you're going to use, you need to download one and under the supervision of a competent person, an employer or a supervisor, you will need to complete those workplace-specific tasks. You will need to have both files completed (the certificate from us + the operator evaluation checklist) for the certificate to be recognized. As far as the wallet card goes, you will need to log in to your account and in the left side menu, the third item will be called "Wallet Cards". You will need to request your wallet card from there. The reason it is not an automated process (meaning the card is automatically sent when the course is done) is that the shipping address can be different from the billing address and on top of that, there will be some fields that are now mandatory (Such as Company Name and Postal Code) which are not mandatory when you purchase the course. If you need any further assistance on this matter, I would recommend using our support service (either via phone or email) because this platform is only meant for reviews collection and not for support.

The content was too in-depth. WHMIS or at least the older one gave you the info needed. For example I don’t care how many classes of flammable there is I just need to know where to look to see what I need to know. Don’t over complicate something that doesn’t need to be. I used to look after WHMIS when I was in the armed forces and I picked it up and figured it out in a matter of days. 90% or people don’t need to know the majority of the content from the course so maybe make it so that people understand the basics and know where to find the rest.

Hello Samuel, The WHMIS course has a standard of training and in that guideline, there are certain requirements for what this course should contain. While there can be differences in how safety training companies approach a certain subject, ultimately, most of this information should be present in a WHMIS course. Companies can develop their own in-house training and obviously, that would be more relevant to the day-to-day operation than the general WHMIS course under the OHS Act. Unfortunately, we as a private company, need to develop courses that cater to all types of companies and not just to a specific one.
